dustin's talk with eddie's uncle was truly an amazing performance from gaten, as was his acting during eddie's death
Good scene but it seems like we only get their reaction to Eddie's death. It's almost as if he's forgotten about after that. Did Dustin not tell anyone else he died? I'm sure he did but his death should have been shown as a mournful experience for the others too. He was a key player in this season and he befriended most of the main characters.
the fact we've never or very rarely seen dustin full on cry made me sob

“Master of puppets” was a good song choice because later in the episode, it was revealed that Vecna was in control of the Mind flayer and other upside down monsters. So Vecna was the master of puppets
The lyrics also coincide really well with what is happening this season. You could also say that the kids Vecna has killed are also “puppets” and he’s the master. He’s able to control everything he wants to control.

That's partially true. Who's the one who provided vecna, the powers he had. There must be someone behind that.
I mean... The entire song perfectly fits the series in terms of tone and message. Complete agree with you. Also if I don't hype in that sequence consider me dead.
@@pi.log10 I don’t agree with that. Vecna was born with those powers and Brenner helped grow them. Even if Brenner did give him the powers, there is no way Brenner would have known what Vecna would do with them, especially with Eleven being the one that made the upside down.
S4 takes place in March of 86. Master of Puppets was released in March of 86. Meaning Eddie learned one of the hardest guitar songs of all time in a matter of days. Mad respect
This season takes place closer to the end of March '86, and Puppets came out I believe March 3rd or 4th that month, so he would've had a few weeks to do so. But even still that was pretty impressive of him! \m/
It was first performed in December of 1985 but, yes. Wikipedia says it wasn’t released until July of 86?

I just realized that Jason Carver, the lead jock, was very reminiscent of Henry Bowers from IT. A non-supernatural, secondary antagonist who is unaware of what's really going on in their quaint little town.

While I've never seen IT, I definitely understand what you mean but I also gotta say until the end when he was attacking Lucas I didn't think he was all that bad of course he was misunderstood and didn't know what's going on and some of his actions aren't excusable but it wasn't like he was a total asshole from the very beginning
@@albyjustme at least in Jason‘s head, he was getting revenge on the people he thought had murdered his girlfriend, whereas Henry Bowers from IT was just a piece of crap
The pain refected in lucas when max is dying. Give that kid an Emmy for most dramtic performance. The way he calls out to Erica for help, anyone who has ever been in a situation where someone is dying and you know there is nothing you can do, desperately screaming for the nearest person for help is a common instinct. Gut wrentching scene.
Also, the way the camera spins and zooms out from Brenner's body kind of evokes the same camerawork in the final scene of Breaking Bad, both lingering on flawed men whose final redemptive acts were freeing someone they viewed as kind of their own child.
I said this a couple times on other videos. They were definitely doing some breaking bad type shots this season. The main one I noticed when Eddie was making soaghetti o’s. Such a BB type camera shot. My favorite shot the entire season was when max, Erica, Dustin and Lucas were on bikes and it panned from them on the bikes to the older kids on bikes in the upside down. Such a dope shot.

Also just noticed that when Chrissy see's the clock crack, it crack's from the four corners and releases the spiders. Vecna's plan was revealed in the first episode from the clock as we would see the four cracks meet in the center and open a gateway for monsters.

Stranger Things season 4 was an absolute masterpiece and is my favorite season since the first. The Duffer Brothers beautifully set up the final season. I think season 4 also had some parallels to Infinity War. All of heroes are fighting from different locations.Thanos needs 6 Infinity Stones while Vecna needs 4 kills to complete their plans.
I never thought of that but I can for sure see the parallels with Infinity War, very cool!

The final two episodes were amazing and I was so sad about Eddie, he didn’t have to die but he died with glory
Not really, eddies death was useless, the bats weren't even attacking anyone in the upside and should have left with dustin. He could've died sacrificing himself for someone.

@@jflq012 remember how those bats could enter through the vents so if he didn’t distract them they could have easily killed Nancy, Steve and Robin while they where trapped on the vines inside Creel’s house, Eddie sacrificed himself for the necessary time for the team in Russia to hurt the hivemind which in turn saved the upside down team, not that Eddie knew that but that doesn’t make it the less heroic.

@@tomas_iss7469 Thats quite a good point, but if he kept on biking for a few more minutes the demo bats would've just turned around, then giving the teams enough time. Also the term hero/brave, He has been brave every step of the way. In being himself in a small, conservative town, he has been brave. In enduring bullying and being labeled as “the Freak” and undoubtedly more, he has been brave. And more than anything else, in withstanding everything his Otherness brings, but fighting to create a place where anyone who doesn’t belong can thrive, he has been not only brave but heroic.
I think one thing that was missed was when the military was breaching the lab in part 1 was reminiscent of Darth Vader and the clones breaching Leia’s ship.

16:32 The poster and plot scenes are also colour coded: Hopper group: Blue (Russia, snow), Steve group: Red (Upside Down), Mike group: Yellow (desert), Eleven: Green (Laboratory).
As a guitar player and Metallica fan, I thought it was pretty awesome that Eddie was playing Master of Puppets with (roughly) the correct fingering 🤘

The entire gang's outfits after shopping at War Zone were straight out of Red Dawn. Dustin had the same head gear as Swayze, Robin had a beret, etc.

The lyrics in «Master of the puppets» also fit really well with the whole Vecna being a representation for mental health issues. «Im your source of self-destruction» and «Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams» are both great examples of this.

Did anyone else notice that Eddie Munson’s uncle was played by Joel Stoffer - the same actor that played Enoch, Fitz’s Chronicom partner in crime & friend in the tv series Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD? He’s almost unrecognizable but one of my favorites from the latter seasons of the Marvel Series.
Yes! I loved him in AoS. He needs more screen time in this. His emotional scene with Dustin at the end made me cry.

Best Season Yet. The emotion, depth, darker tone, and horror elements put this season to the next level. Sadie, Millie, Joseph, Jamie, Gaten deserve Emmy Nominations.

@@robbier3785 I mean Henry Creel (Vecna) has a good bit of similarities to Will. Henry got powers without scientific intervention so it's very possible Will could develop some form of powers

When the army storms the nina lab and the MP hide behind the crates to shoot at them in the metal tunnel of the underground lab it gave me real vibes of the start of Star Wars ep 4 when we first meet Vader and the rebels are in the corridor of the ship shooting at the stormtroopers coming through the door

I think Stranger Things is not only an immediate cult classic, it's wholesome. It has sparked so many memories and the sheer genius from the Brothers Duff.

I really hope that season 5 will pull from Red Dawn as an inspiration for one plotline, whether the characters would be fighting Monsters or the governments presence in Hawkins, I want to see some Guerilla Warfare and kids yelling “Wolverines!”

The way the four gateways expands to the upsidedown with the continuous distorted ticking of the clock gave me chills. Truly a masterpiece season. Can't wait for the finale!

I thought Dr. Brenner had said "What have you done?" because he had just woke up from being knocked out and thought Eleven had been responsible for the massacre. He didn't know what really happened until he saw the video later. How did this part of the memory change later?

Yeah, Vecna could have taken them out easily before they even got inside the attic he was in but for plot reasons, they had to get to him.

@@jusskb5844 exactly, I’ve gotten tired of it to be honest. There’s absolutely no real stakes for any of the leading characters, and if they die, apparently they won’t stay dead ever. So I don’t really see any point in season 5, as it’ll be the same: kids saving the world, maybe one character dying.

I'm so hoping!! Stranger Things is one of the few "horror" shows I can watch... same with S. King. But the "Talisman" and "Eyes of the Dragon" are the only exceptions.

I dont think season 5 is gonna end all sunshine and rainbows. I think either Will is the only survivor after saving Hawkins OR, and this is a huge that I'm thinking could happen, Vecna wins and takes over the world and the end scene is Vecna "bending the knee" to his true king who is revealed as Will. Either way I'm 100% certain that Eleven will have ALMOST zero hand in how this series ends, I think Will is the key to ending Vecna or ending Humanity.
