My vote, Mares car! Get it perfect and not insane powered but looking perfect with a good engine with whatever amount of power suits HER and make it her run around come maybe show car. It's unique and apart from things like those windows being useless and needing a fair bit of finessing it COULD look fantastic.

It would be easier to find another chop car than it would be to find one that evokes a genuine and impulsive reaction like that from Mere. 10 years from now, you won't remember the car you chopped up, but she will remember the time you made her a dream car, Matt. DUDE! FIRST time we've seen Meredith show any interest or exitement with a car project! Actual appreciation with a genuine smile! That girl has put up with all your crazy BS (not meant in a negative connotation) and taken it all in stride. I know those crazy antics have provided a lot of opportunity for the both of you, but still, compared to many, you get away with murder! You should show your appreciation to her by having Brandon fix that "Ranchstang" up "cherry", leaving the 289 in it and adding some AC, and give it to her. I know I would! She looks great in it and it even fits her like a glove! You know its the right thing to do!

In the mean time, if you need another Mustang for a burn out car, go find ya a 71-73 "long nose" designed from factory to fit a 429/460 big block (all the room you need for the diesel conversion), and use that instead.

I would like to see the vehicle brought to pristine condition, the custom job done properly. It may not be original but it is unique. The Ranchero was sold in Australia as a 1963 XL Falcon Utility. In Australia they only came with the six cylinder motor.

I used to work in an upholstery shop that specialized in 60s Mustangs. The bench seat was definitely a factory item. Usually came in lower trim cars. The seat backs are the same as on bucket seats, bit the lower is its own thing. Looks like someone built their dream ride out of this one. But still very cool. Definitely a good find.
Matt you must rebuild that motor!!! Those 289's were screamers back then, those 289s had power. Definitely worth a rebuild as well as intake and exhaust cams only a 1/4 cam. And with the 4.10 OD WILL BE FUN. Sleeves rods pistons springs retainers, possibly bore..20 over pistons

That ending definitely had me on the ropes until the end and I figured it out. At first i was like, "nah Mat wouldn't shave for THIS!?" But then I was like yeah but 10years ago Mat was thin, over the years youve spent more time in the gym. That was the giveaway.

At first I thought it was a Flacon based Ranchero grafted to a Mustang but it was definitely a Mustang to start with. Yes, early Mustangs could have been equipped with a bench seat.

It is a Mustruk! I vote (with others all the others in the comment section) that Brandon do it up to the 9's. Make it really nice I recommend that it be done in black with gold stripes like a hertz rent-a-racer (truck). I also think the big diesel would be too much for this car as well.
Just had to pause the video, and first of, that car is SICK!! The '66 Mustang is my absolute favorite car of all time, but I love pickups as well, especially the Ford Sierra P100, so this car is like the best of both worlds!
