The owners of the 2015-2016 highlanders that say that the 2017 slower they are right, is because the 8 speed auto, it has more gears than the 2016 with the 6 speed auto, but the 6 speed auto shift gears quicker than the 8 speed and is also smother, the 8 speed there is a lot of times that get lazy with the gears, that’s why
Trying to decide on whether we should go with the 2016 XLE or 2017. Anyone care to share some personal experience and opinions? Also, does anyone know if it’s possible to have the Apple CarPlay system installed? We already looked into the price of having it done, just need to know if it’s possible.
When I first saw the 2017 Highlander, I thought the front end was hideous... But one day I saw a new one with a black grille & LED day time running lights (the SE trim) & it actually looked nice... So now the Highlander doesn't look too bad to me
Thank you so much for the video after watching it I decided to go and buy myself a 2017 Honda Pilot Elite. Yes it's a little more for a Honda Elite. But way more options. This video was my desition point.
Shouldn't you have taken a look at the Highlander Limited Platinum? Sounds like you went for the Pilot because it had "way more options". The Highlander in this video is mid-level. The Platinum Highlander has everything the Pilot Elite has.
No Android Auto and still plagued by that stupid 8 speed transmission. Hyundai's got it right! Really respect their "If it ain't broke" approach. That's why they're in the top three JD Power 's Initial Quality Study award.

What is with Toyota with the Apple Play? They just are not willing to include that feature into their infotainment system...which is annoying.

The black grille completely transforms the look. In SE, this thing looks slick, and I can't believe I'm saying that about a Highlander.
Michael Perkins lol exactly... The SE trim makes the Highlander look nice... I don't really care for the other trims with their front end
I just love the way he assesses cars I don't watch him on every car
I do Watch him lol
Love the redesign Grill!!!
Performance issues were in pre-February 2017 production. TSB is available for a re-flash for those affected vehicles.

Roman Chumakov Glad it helped! Enjoy!

Honda Pilot Elite has more cargo and passengers space.
If that's what you need then cool. Your post made it sound like you were comparing features among uneven trims.
Wow! Nice. The Highlander has come a loooong way, baby! Not as clunky looking as when it first came out and it has some size now.
A review.
A+ ... if you would have talk to the sound level of the car.
TruthHasSpoken Oh, it's quiet.
Grade changed to A+
Nice job!
Great Review MP. I agree that they need to add carplay.
I’m actually really sad that I have to sell my black 2001 Toyota Highlander for a new one. But Simone could use it because they do not die.
I like when he took both hands off the wheel to gesture.

Like the looks of it with the black grill
Apple CarPlay is a feature I wish it really had.
NICE

Nice
The "clock" is an annoying Toyota tradition.
Dig your T- Shirt!
looks good
quite the snooze review
Shall I add more burnouts next time? Couple explosions? I could rig fireworks to the bumpers?
would not help
David O Any suggestions? Dancing girls? Animal fights?
how about not being so sensitive to comments?? Jeesh!
David O Just having some fun, man.
Can't hate Stop/Start systems enough. Awful.
When I see people sitting this way in the seat, holding the hand on top of the wheel makes me sick. I'll have to click on another video at 02:33.
Kju Njels Seems an absurd reason to stop watching a review, but you do you.
It all depends how much you don't like fake people and the ones who are trying to show off, instead of being natural and informative.
Kju Njels And here I was SURE I was a real, live boy only to find out I was fake the whole time!
Oh man, I had no idea I need to simplify things for you so much. I give up.
