So fun fact: Heroes of Might & Magic was originally basically built around the idea of "anything sufficiently advanced is indistinguishable from magic," being technically a post-apocalyptic game. This would've manifest itself in the Forge faction in Heroes of Might & Magic 3: a faction which used many technologically modified versions of the more fantasy creatures like minotaurs, peaking with the Juggernaut which would be reintroduced later as the Dragon Golem. Unfortunately for some reason or another this faction was scrapped & has yet to directly be brought back to the story 5 games later
Yeah, the old Might & Magic RPGs often veered into sci fi stuff, up to including laser wands and supercomputers. Sadly, this universe was replaced with a much more generic fantasy one after Ubisoft took over the franchise. Another reason to hate Ubisoft.
The Heavenly Forge would have been destroyed alongside Enroth when Armageddeons blade and the Sword of Frost clashed. Of course, there's nothing that stops there being multiple forges out there.
I would watch you play XCOM. Should do some super unfair challenges. Would be very entertaining to watch. If you have already played too much of the newer XCOM I would recommend Xenonauts. It does a good job of modernizing the original XCOM UFO Defense from 1994. Plus there are a decent number of mods like Xenophobia that really crank the difficulty, which I know is something you love ;)
One day, you're walking around trying to find some healthcare on the street. The next, your an amphibian trying to figure out an ambiguous way to Escape from Tarkov. + or - Some Decay. Naturally.
Decay is honestly hard af in the early game. All because they don’t have an infirmary. You have to have battles with no losses or where you gain troops. Or you start to fall behind. God forbid you get a bad loss early on as decay. Infirmary giving you your dead back really helps out early on.
I recommend Wild and Pillar because they win fights based on troop composition alone. Order in 3rd place. You need mana for spells or you lose though. These 3 factions are swaggin. I play Rea Cassie Omolene from wild, or whatever his name is
Or you build the Lord of None to be a one man army who also raises and merges an army. Like, its dumb how good he is compared to the other lords of Decay
@@zswords Yer right m8 I had many good lord o none playthroughs dude is great really all of the necro heroes are good except the bone king guy who makes for a better follower. the thing is the game updated and made the soul beacon stronger so the infirmary loss isn't as bad now.
Definitely could give some tips to make it easier for you overall. Granted this is four months ago. Anyway just started checking out hero hour RUclips videos see what people are saying and doing.

Love this game. I could play this over and over. I got to play hardcore+ on some factions now. I'm working on playing against multiple AI. Love it so much. Hope one day it gets a robust multiplayer.

This game really reminds me of the flash game era. I think of Warlord Call to Arms, Feudalism, and Age of War + all the other auto battling strategy games there were

Decay can get ranged units through the necromancy, it’s their main ranged unit

I've found that Normal difficulty hinders the AI more than Easy, funnily enough.
