Sure you know the words to be said, and you can say them with enthusiasm, but there's this slightly hypnotic indifference as if you're waiting patiently for the lion to eat its prey so you can check to see if the derby is starting yet.
But even with all the gloriousness of your voice, I cannot picture your face at all.

If it's anything to you I honestly didn't realize I wasn't subscribed to either of your channels. They came up so often on recommended I only just realized it. So +1 to both keep going man!
Yep, no game has the same depth as dwarf fortress, but it's wrong to compare this game to rimworld without mentioning dwarf fortress who brought it all, even to rimworld.
Totally feel you about the getting older and gaming thing. I'm in my 40's and gaming has defined my entire adult life. But these days I find it difficult to stick with something like I used to be able to, so I end up bouncing from one game to another much quicker.
Taking a break helps. Over the last couple years I've gotten back into more outdoor activities, so now when I come back to gaming when the weather starts to cool, things feel fresh again.
The only thing I dislike in this game is how faceless the pawns are. It makes them more of a maniquin than a colonist
You know...people are funny...we are social creatures...and that is not an understatement. If you want a game to be good you should always consider the social connection aspect of a game. I think having faceless characters is literally the worst decision you could make. I can understand if they are placeholders for now...but they need implemented.

I'm much more annoyed how the camera follows every bump and crevice on the map. Want to dig a basement? Enjoy the infuriating bobbing up and down every time you get anywhere near those stairs.
@@dennislp3 Why do you need them to have faces? Once they put on a helmet, you can't see them anyway. Seems pointless to me.

@@waffleswafflson3076 Yes, but rimworld is the popular one. Just for the simple reason its infinitely easier to play rimworld and get the sense you're progressing than it is to DF. I've played both a lot, but if i DF was more new player friendly i would have thousands of hours in it

Dude, your videos are excellent. The games and the way you play them are top notch. It is funny, and informative. Something I have long thought about is posting videos of my own gaming experiences. I also love placing myself in strange, self-imposed challenged scenarios. Just a couple days ago I renamed my account and started recording and posting game videos. This baby is only days old, and is wrinkled and moist as would be expected, but if anyone wants to come check it out I would love that.

21:25 Don't do a Camera! Your biggest draw is your voice and I know most people have a certain look in mind when hearing your voice and if you don't meet those expectations it could ruin it for them. I know it has for me with other YT. It's a silly thing but it happens lol Your voice is your money maker and it allows people to focus on what your doing ING are instead of irl.

Your voice, in my head, is perfectly depicted by the odd, amphibian sock-puppet... That is your face. A face came would ruin the mystique.

A group of rabbits doesn't have one set name. It can be Colony, nest, warren (usually this is the name of were they live though). Also Fluffle. Domestic can be called a herd.

really annoying that after *dev enters chat* all AA does is critique the game.
What could be improved and what the game lacks. As though he forgot the viewer entirely and is just giving feedback to the devs. Probably just my own insecurity and social anxiety, but also genuine feedback on his feedback. It went from his own genuine thoughts to a play tester.
1:05:20 I disagree. I find the pivot point and having both the image in front of you as well as the camera position panning around that pivot point to be painful. Kinda like putting a teeter totter on a merry go round.
The closest thing Christianity has to a shrine, is the Cross. A lot of Churches pit this at the front of the church as a reminder of our sin, and how Jesus paid it off.
Otherwise shrines would be forbidden in Christianity, since shrines are meant to be worshipped, and the Lord doesn't want anyone worshipping anyone/anything but him...its seen as a sort of "false idol".

I tried this hoping for a good castle building/defense type thing, but it's literally just Rimworld. Even down to the hotkeys.

Mountain biking in florida is done in old rock quarrys lol. No mountains so we dug holes.

I once went medieval, but I don't recommend it, as I was forced to spend the following four years inside a dull white room with padded floor and walls. The food was bland and it wasn't very fun at all!

Anyone else having an issue where animals just stop spawning completely? Midway through winter no more animals would spawn which wasn't shocking because of the weather but a few days into spring and ive only seen one wolf. I can't really progress without all 7 of my people dying because the crops I planted will take almost 20 days to mature and theres no meat available
Weird, I have around 1k of smoked meat, and I've stopped hunting ENTIRELY because I'm running out of storage.
@@kraanz Lucky lol. I stopped playing because after that major glitch I felt kinda discouraged to keep going out of fear of running into more game breaking bugs. Ill wait a few months for an update

all new recruits are pretty bad, you have to train them. I think that's the trade off
It's a bit annoying there don't seem to be any training dummies. You can train pretty much everything except anything combat-related. Then again, the training dummies in Rimworld were total shit, too, you needed a mod to make them actually useful.
For a mountain it should be almost all ramps imo. sheer drops occur naturally but to have the entire map made up of them is ridiculous.
I've goten to a point where raiders bring in trebuchets. The range was high on it plus there is no way to dismantle or deconstruct it so it just sits at a corner of my map. Then when raiders spawn in the same corner they will also use the trebuchet i hope they fix this.
Did you try building a wall around it?
I'm several years into the game and I didn't even know they existed. My guess is, you have walled yourself completely off and they can't get to you. I don't have ANY defensive walls, except the ones of my main building. I have, however, dug a moat all around the map, with a staircase on each side. The AI thinks they can easily get in and tries to use those stairs. Needless to say, there's traps everywhere and they rarely even make it out of the moat, they usually get shot and trapped to pieces, and the few who make it up the inner ladder are met by a shield wall where my guys usually one-hit them.
