  • The Mercedes-Benz GLK has been a strong seller from 2010 until 2015! Now today its's know under the name GLC. Back in 2011, It was Mercedes-Benz' smallest and least expensive SUV that dove into the compact crossover luxury market and became an immediately desirable vehicle in the segment. The added option could make this one expensive! But give it a few kilometers and add a few years and down goes the price! It was powered by a 3.5-liter V6 with an output of 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission with Comfort, Sport, and Manual settings is standard. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive (known as 4Matic) is available and with it, it becomes an off-road warrior! Even if a few percentages of the buyers will bring it into the wild! It might not be a class-leading cabin space or fuel mileage king, but it sure is a robust and capable SUV!

    Loved my 2013. Best car. Gas mileage was ok. 17mpg city and 28 highway. Maintanace in the USA cost $890.00 once a year. I had to have the transmission reprogrammed, but took 3 times to get it done right. Outstanding sound system (optional). Don't like the shifter on the steering column. Other than that, probably the best used luxury small SUV any money can buy.

    I purchased a 2010 GLK (w/60k mi) in the US but it was first sold in CDN thus metric information like the outside temp is in C. Not an issue since I lived in GE for 7yrs. The 2010 when I was considering purchase I took it to my independent Mercedes mechanic. He plugged it into an analysis machine then had me drive it on a freeway and thru city traffic. Then took another read. He said it was in outstanding condition and the GLK is a very reliable model. Of note it was built in the Bremen Plant where my 1996 SL320 was hand crafted. Last week I did a 975 mi round trip and got 22mpg driving 80-90 mph on premium fuel. I have been very pleased w/ the vehicle. I think acquiring a German built example is key. I previously owned a used ML built in AL and it was crap. Purchased from a MB dealer in Bellevue, WA. Dumped it less than a year, with major engine issues, based on advice from my mechanic.

      I have 107k km on my GLK 350 from new. Aside from a couple of dings, looks new. I got it as base as you can with the 4matic and those seats look perfect. Wanted the the 250 but it was not out yet. If my experience is anything, you will love it. My wife got the GLC when it came out, I would not trade with her.

    I just bought a 2015 GLK350 4MATIC, with just 58K on her clock, and I am pleased. It’s a very good car, apparently, but it looks like it’s going to cost me money almost immediately. 2 days in, the sliding door on the console jammed shut! Maybe one of the narrow panels that make it up came loose. It is very difficult to access, so it may be big bucks to fix it. If that is the only thing that goes wrong for a while, that would be good!

    Loved my Mercedes BlueTec ML250 SUV. Great car, ride nice and got good mileage. Loved the thing to death, until recently, a young man ran the light and hit us head on. Am surprised that my husband and I are still alive, but not without bruises and pain. My car was total, but that babe save us, not a miracle and I really believe that. Question is, how are we going to get another one just like it? Not sure if the company make BlurTec anymore.

    I have a 300 and we are so happy because we bearly have a problem with it. The tires are a small problem because they are thin. You are right you have to avoid at all cost the potholes. I definitely recommend buying used. Mine have 70.000 Kms and counting

    The diesel GLK 250 has more torque about 368 and much much better gas mileage. I get 28 mpg city and 37 mpg highway. I agree with two things, they still look new and very well built. I have one with over 132 k and still drives and feels like new. So silent inside and smooth on highway . Cornering it wont bend. The GLK 350 or GLK250 wont stress with load, or speed or towing. Well powered.
    The only thing is benz maintenance can be expensive. if you maintain well it is truly a great mix of comfort and solid power thanks to its exceptional engines and rigid chassis.

    after 100k miles, you will be in a headache as there are a lot of gaskets are old, the mounts are old, the suspention absorbers are old, you have to spend a lot of money but it is the game, car is physical consumption.

    • @yankee2yankee216
      @yankee2yankee216 3 месяца назад +1

      Of course, but a car with 100K miles is a lot cheaper than a new one… You have higher maintenance costs, but your upfront costs are lower. It is not necessarily cheaper to drive an older car! I do it because that is the only way I can get what I truly want.
