In America we traditionally place the knife closest to the plate with the spoon(s) to the right of the knife. And glasses on the right. But anything goes today, and I am all for practicality. Yay! 👏 I love to look at beautiful tablescapes, but sitting down to dine on a table overcrowded with decorative items and plate stacks isn’t really conducive to dining. Your table is uncluttered AND lovely.

Thank you SAL. This is considered a formal table setting for us in Malaysia 🇲🇾. The reason of those glasses is placed on the left is because most of us uses our right hands / fingers to eat so we could use our left / clean hands to hold the glasses. Coffee / Tea cups on the left is for after meals. I truly appreciate your comment whilst learning the culture of others at the same time 🤗💐

It's a bit over the top for me. The napkins add to a more classy look. I really miss the greenery on the table though.

Thank you. This is family style table setting and the food served are colourful (Malaysian delicacy) with lots of greens. But will definitely take your suggestions for other occasion setting. 🤗
