What was the ambient temperature, barometric pressure, elevation above mean sea level, relative humidity? The Indy 500 race is not just won by stepping on the gas pedal and writing down lap times. Thank you for including the twist rate and rifling number, as well as the barrel length and the Radar ballisic coefficient average. As a rule of thumb, it is better to increase the barrel length by one inch than to increase the regulator pressure by 12.4 Bar (180 psi); unless your in the jungles of VietNam. That was great what you did to test out the wind effects, but if you were to analyze one projectile with a very fast frame (300,000+ fps frames and not feet) you would notice that the wind has different effects at different ranges, or what is believed to be nodes, but really are harmonics at different ranges. In other words, three like and similar rifles tuned to either 50, 100, 150 yards will do their best at one of those ranges, but not at all three ranges because of the harmonics that vary as the variables requested above vary, so the objective is to tune to your objective range. The impact platform is like the Iphone, the company keeps refining them from previous versions. I have had many brands of airguns over the last 52 years and there are some great manufacturers producing some outstanding airguns, but i just cant understand why some people have to trash FX, i have 2 impacts and a crown and they are phenomenal! I plan on purchasing my third impact MK 4 soon and look forward to many hours of enjoyment with it. I'm not a fanboy of any company and still purchase other brands of airguns but If you prefer another brand...great, but stop trolling the videos on FX guns!

@@BT-st4ho There have actually been quite a few tests in the airgunner community machining a LW barrel to fit the Impact and the results don't show any real marked improvement. I actually have a .257 LW barrel I was in the process of machining into a transfer port to work with the M3, but after seeing others results - it isn't this magical fix. I have an FX IMPACT M3 in .22 caliber and I recently bought a Liner Heavy and received it in the 1.18 version in the 700mm size. I haven't seen any information about it or about the difference between the 1.18 and the 1.16 on any website or forum. I noticed that the shock of the 1/18 is much greater than that of the 1/16, because the velocity decreases a lot with the 1/18. Could you explain to me what the technical difference is between the Liner 1/18 and the 1/16? Thank you
Yes, they did the same thing with all four of us when we asked if they had anything new coming out, and they said, "No!" And each of us spent about $4k each. Live and learn...
I've had a sliding Picatinny rail for 3yrs. The AMP GEN2 is not an upgrade on the M4, as it was installed on later M3s & then you could get them for the other rifles for the last 12months. The M4 is a MK2 with a sliding rail, new trigger & grip. But it still won't be anymore accurate than any other Impact as it still has the liner system
There is a very interesting information/testing at the middle of the video. This is extremely useful and you could make an entire video about it. That's food for thoughts for the people who likes to learn. Keep that content up and coming 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Hey Chris, what do you think works better for slugs in the 30 cal Impact M3, the Fx slug liner 1:18 twist or the Fx liner 1:40? I’ve been hearing talk about the 1:40 twist liner saying it’s good for zan 56gr pellets, how is it for slugs?
I use the pellet liner for Zan 59gr at 920 or 950fps & it stacks at 110yds easily. The Heavy liner prefers the Hybrids 44.5gr 1004fps, again, stacks at 110yds. You can only but test as it doesn't follow heavy for heavy or light for standard, tolerances are too great between liners

I like the adjustable rail system that’s a big plus and probably the updated magazine but why didn’t they manufactured it in metal wonder if they include extra magazine. How about reliability and customer service does FX pay for shipping while it’s under warranty that’s the big question with new buyers. Great review thank you
Customer usually pays for shipping to the company then depending on what the issue is it’s shipped back free. The ultimate goal is to not need to send it back ever with the amount of videos at one’s finger tips doing maintenance or repairs is an option

A lot of these changes - yes. The brass piston in the regulator would be the first and easiest one I would do. I am not sure about the trigger mechanism, but I will find out.

the sliding pic rail is a silly gimmick. just give me a full pic rail so I dont have to worry about POI shifts when swapping optics that need very different eye relief. The M4 disappointed me, i was planning to buy it but this is not what I was hoping to see.
@@waynelinsenbach153 The King (and all other FX Dynamic variants) have a higher power potential due to a larger valve and advanced flow engineering in the actual block. The level of precision and accuracy possible are the exact same except that the Dynanic block can push heavier (higher BC) projectiles thus making them less susceptible to wind drift.
Be nice to have a 35cal the size of the 30cal you have in the video, putting out the same power....I know it can be done,the ataman 35cal is putting out 144fpe - 900fps 82g
It’s funny because Utah air basically trashed the upper rail upgrades without literally saying it. They did this by still changing all their personal m4s to air marksman rails in their debut use video. Why if the new rail is better? Really poor marketing for FX from the major importer of the brand.

That’s a lot of trigger screws. To me it might be something that gets you lost in the weeds once you start messing with it. Ending up with a garbage trigger and being stuck there.

Most I have heard are disappointed with this. Not going to get one as my M3 does everything this does. You can make your M3 trigger that good. They already had a brass piston in the amp reg. Just put the Huma XHP Reg in place of AMP reg. Get a Stud magazine for slugs to fix the FX mad issues. Studs are all round better and same price.
@@kevintravis2154 This brass piston upgrade is a proven fix for reg creep. I haven't taken this one apart yet, but with some really basic polishing it helps with creep and rebound.

All the magazines will work across all Impact versions. The new M4 magazine got some internal improvements though.
