Sweet childhood memories of looking at this back in 1997, even though I simply remember Kermit, the song and Sandra Bullock.Puts a smile 24 years later.
It's a callback to The Muppet Show, they were the first act of the first episode. The third Muppet was a long haired guy who would sing "Mahna Mahna!" and the first two pink Muppets here would sing the rest of the song, and then would wait patiently for the guy to sing "Mahna Mahna!" again, so they could sing their part of the song again.
What Kermit and Sandra are actually saying is "phenomena," which is the plural of "phenomenon," and which rhymes better with "Mahna Mahna" than "phenomenon" does.
I figured out last year (from Easter eggs/clues) that a movie and an episode of the classic Twilight Zone that seemed to end sadly were actually 180 degrees and actually a happy ending. I plan to rewatch the 1996 movie (you might guess which one) to see if the sad ending might be a good one. Watching this clip, it (to me) hints that I need to watch the movie soon. Edit: My gut serves me well. I just looked at the release dates of the two and they are only TEN days apart from each other!
@pullanchor No, the name of that monster is Doglion. On 'The Muppet Show', he and Sweetums occasionally performed with all of the full-body Muppet monsters :)
Yes, it was Muppets Tonight. Made by Jim Henson's production company in 1996 in the UK, but although sold all over the world, it wasn't as successful as the original format.
I had to look on you tube to see if they had this skit on here. It is still just as funny as it was when it first aired. I mean Sandra got overexcited while saying "Phenomena."
this is prob the hottest sandra bullock video on the internet
You got issues Lopez…
I'm with you, brother!
Oh my God I agree with you 100%
The same thing happens for me when I say "noumenon", except in my case it's miniature versions of Immanuel Kant.
+John K. Me too! Only it's if I say "Necronomicon" and eldritch horrors show up.
Do do do do!

Ive always thought that Jim Henson's Idea for creating the "Snouths" came to him when he was looking at a Hair dryer.
+DUSTERDUDE238 And I always thought about these creatures every time I saw Ostro from Super Mario.
+Bon Bon actually his name is birdo it was a mistranslation in the game
@@dylanastry6653 Hardly a mistranslation, I'd say (the names for two characters were switched around).
Ms Bullock is insanely scrumptious in this classic sketch.

(0:55) That look and tone of voice says, "I can't believe I'm saying 'phenomenon' to some goddamn Muppets!" 🤣
This is why I laugh my butt off during paranormal movies/ tv shows.

"Shave and a haircut" clinched it for me. That was awesome.

One of THE best scenes on SNL
Soo funny. Sandra Bullock killed it lol
This isn’t SNL, it’s Muppets Tonight

HAHAHAHAHAHA .... it's the best can't stop from watching it ...
@mustang99190 An updated version of the Muppet Show.
The show was called Muppets Tonight. It came on during the 90's when I was a kid. I think it was a Friday night show made to compete with TGIF.
Ha ha I remeber that episode. I was eating A red funny face ice block, and just had spaghetti for lunch.... ahhh those were the days.

Just run into this for the first time, in 2023, and i'm instantly brainwashed by that tune
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to see Doglion in a tutu!
