What measurements you use for X,Y,Z to print it?
I'm honored that you picked my file to print. :) Beautiful job, and great build video! I just uploaded a new Mandalorian rifle build video on my channel, but next on my to do list is to make a more accurate helmet now that there's plenty of reference available. Woohoo!!! :) Thanks again, and really great work on the build. btw- LOVE the idea of the welding helmet visor.
No, THANK YOU! It’s seriously an incredible model. Thanks so much for sharing it!
Please make an updated one asap 😍
@@stevet1898 Haha. Working on it RIGHT NOW actually. :) -Will post to MyMiniFactory once finished.
Thank you Rob Pauza for the files..👏🏽
Dude, Rob. Your file has blow up. I've been working on making this helmet for the last 3 weeks. Reddit is balls deep in reprints.
Good work!
Wood filler tip is CLUTCH. I'm Canadian and it's way too cold in the winter months to be able to do effective priming outside...been struggling to figure out what to do about it and now I know: wood filler is the answer! Thank you!!
Great instructions....now I just need a 3D printer...
CamJam 312 Ender 3 is a pretty cheap one honestly
@@Стив-и6я depends on your definition of cheap. I'm still in high school working in a fast food joint lol
CamJam 312 oof I mean if u save up like $200 ig working in retail I was able to afford lmao now I’m a broke college student
@@Стив-и6я noice! I've enlisted in the military and taking adavantage of that GI bill. Trying to stay out of the college debt pool as much as I can while trying to have a relatively comfortable life 😂
Right
I've seen a million and a half prop/helmet building videos but I've never seen yours! Consider this my apology and my subscription!
Thanks for dropping by!
"Is that real Beskar?"
Nah because beskar is so hard to find she used durasteel instead.
@@evildrporkchop4628 hi how are ya?
@@michaeldickson6858 XD pretty good.
@@evildrporkchop4628 do you have any other social media?

You have the most awesome voice for narration!!! Fantastic video… thanks for showing how you bring it all together!!!
The best homemade mandolorian helmet I’ve ever seen really
I had a couple helmets come out with the same texture on the surface. if you add another wall layer to your print settings it will come out smoother. also filler primer will help with filling in print lines so you have less work by hand. good video. thanks
I figured as much. I’m constantly messing around with settings depending on the job; I must have not set it back to being thicker. It didn’t bother me enough to reprint the pieces though. I’ll definitely have to try some of that primer. Thanks for mentioning it!
Currently making this. 6 of 8 peices have been printed. Looking forward to the finished product. Thanks for the link to the files as well as the step by step post process. Cheers.
From the thumbnail I thought it was metal, so when I realized you were using plastic I was shocked. This is a really well made costume piece!
This is probably my favorite The Mandalorian helmet that I've seen so far!!! The weathering is fantastic, I usually see some that come out kinda..painty-ish looking..but yours look like legit weathering!!! This is awesome!
You should print a support bracket to sit across the chin inside the helmet just behind the lense, will give it rigidity and strength and even create an opportunity to add a voice changer( if you chose to) to get that radio voice he kind of has. Lol well done !!
Thanks for this great video. It made this project sooooo much easier than it could've been. Just finished my helmet this past weekend and now I'm on to the rifle.
Aaaand I need 3-D printer. Outstanding video. Thanks!
It's still impressive though I think something like "(3-D printed)" behind the title would be great as well but it's not needed.
You probably already know these tips but someone may find it useful, when priming try a filler primer, when painting metallic prime then spray with a gloss black it makes such a difference, for chrome paint there is a graffiti product called molotow liquid chrome which you can buy in refill bottles and put through an airbrush then seal
Your video gave me some great ideas on how to repair a Boba Fett helmet I bought for my son that needs a little repair. Awesome work!
The first paint you used is a colored transparent type. It's for tinting rather than coloring. It would add depth to another shade of silver.
Over all the helmet looks awesome!
Smart move with the removable visor. Great build!
Thanks for this information, I'm making an Armorer Hemet for my wife right now, and this will be my first 3d printed helmet build. Lots of great tips in the video, which will be very helpful for my build.
That’s awesome! Been thinking about making one of those myself. Best of luck!
A lot of work and a very nice looking result. Thanks for sharing.
If you angle the top helmet plates at a 35 - 45 degree angle you will cut down dramatically on the supports needed/material used - and you get the same quality on the top and inside.
Thank you sooooo much for this tutorial!!! I really love your work on this helmet. Been looking for this because my printer only prints 200x 200. I DL the files and doing ears first. Got to get more filment . Thank you again!!!!
This is probably the closest I’ve seen, all the others on RUclips make the helmet too long or too short and they don’t realize that offsets the overall look. Very impressive though, you got my like.
Hard out, the only thing I thought was "off" (Still looks amazing) was the width of the visor going down I believe in the disney+ version it becomes thinner as it goes down.
Another good video if you like accuracy is "TheWeldingGeek" He made the new disney+ Helm out of metal and it looks so good. He's a relatively new channel.

You can *MAKE* the helmet, but only one badass space cowboy can wear it.
I have spoken
I see your comments on a lot of star wars videos. Respect.
@@michaeldickson6858 really wow cool XD.
@@evildrporkchop4628 yeah. What kind of star wars youtube channels do you watch?

This is awesome! I've been looking for a good base for this helmet, and I think I found it! Thank you!
hi, i see the helmet has an icecream cone patern to it thats the infill showing through, you need to add more walls to the print, and print the walls first before the infill, jack
I also found that the Rustoleum Dark Steel paint is the closest looking finish without going the graphite or Alclad chrome route.
Thank you for this step by step guide. Your solution for the visor installation is perfect. I have been putting off the install until I could come up with something better than hot glue and this is it!!! Well Done :)
Next time if you have more time , sanding the plastic will give it a smoother final look when you go to paint it. Like using 180 grit or finer
Nice vid! Appreciated all the little tips. Especially the visor mounts.
What were ur support overhang settings- tbh with a cr10 u could probably afford to have a lot less support and save material- looks good tho
I could not find the Hobart replacement face shield for my helmet so I went to Office Max and bought one of the clear sheets of plastic and put black window tint on it. Works really well, you just have to watch out for air bubbles.
Nice job! When I have the extra funds, I'm definitely printing one for myself. One thing, for both you and Rob Pauza, to consider is increasing the wall thickness on the dome. The infill lines caught my attention, especially after the shine of the Rub-n-Buff. But, in spite of that, kudos on a great build and thanks for the inspiration (and link) to build one of my own. :)
Awesome built!
Great tutorial!!, What profile you used to print? standard? rough? high? for example how much time take you to print front side bottom L or R? wich should be the same
I just started mine and I want to know if I am going the right way, I can see on yours that some zig zag pattern is shown very slightly and on mine does not.
Thanks in advance.
thank you so much for this! As someone just starting out in prop making, the step by step was wonderful! thank you again!
Just wow, really nice helmet. Judy one question, how do you enlarge the model? In the pics on the site it looks to be about the size of a apple. And I would love to have it like you in 1:1 size
I think you've just sold me on putting a 3D printer on my xmas list. :)
This is the way
Awesome!!!!!! “This is the way”
Who else is excited for all of the new Star Wars stuff this year? Hope you enjoy the video 😊 Thanks so much for watching!
My son works at the cinema and gets free tickets so that is what we are doing for my birthday!! Anyway another great job!
That’s awesome!
What are the measures of the helmet?
About 30 cm each way.
@@studioofmm thanks
First off totally love this video it inspired me to make my own helmet.
Swcpndly Not sure if this was asked or not or if you posted a list somewhere but what all did you use for the screws, paint and those sorts of things.
Lastly your work is fantastic
Great job! Did you see the guy who made the helmet in foam? You two used similar techniques.
Really enjoyed this video, one remark that I have is that maybe you should make some additional interior of the helmet so that it is more comfortable to wear and how is the breathing going of the person who wears it? Otherwise from the outside looks wonderful!!!
If I was planning on using it for a costume I would have. It was really just made as a display piece for my studio.
love your hearcut
Looks outstanding!
Such a great video! Loving all of the post processing work you put into this! Rob Pauza did an amazing job on the design as well! Thanks for sharing!
Great project! thanks for sharing the helmet build and tips/tricks along the way. I'm going to try this one out as well :)
hi having probs with the -piece-right-front-bottoms did you print upright if so what end to bed ? is it poss to show the settings you used
2 attempts failed after hours an hours...
as noob here ive a ender 3 many thx
As a prop build, is this wearable or more of a showpiece?
It is wearable although I made it as more of a display piece for my studio. If I was wearing is as part of a costume I would add padding and fans inside.
I was wondering what 3D print you used? I really would like to get one and start doing this kind of stuff with my kids.
I printed this helmet on a modified Creality CR-10s but I believe all of these pieces would fit on an Ender 3 which is also an amazing printer (and great for beginners!)
@@studioofmm Thank you very much for your input.
Superb walkthrough. Thank you for sharing your talent and experience with us. This is going to be VERY useful for me!
Hi, I just found your channel. Excellent video.
I would like to ask you a question. What scale did you print the helmet at? I see people printing these files at 100% Some people at 104, 105 etc... Yours looks perfect.
I kept the scale at 100%. I was always planning on making this just to have on display in my studio but if I was going to wear it as part of a costume it might me a little tight for my liking. It’s really the inverted panels that are the tight spot. I’d just want a bit more wiggle room for padding/fans.
HI! I didn't see this question in the comments, but I apologize if it was asked and I missed it. What is the name of the Dupli-color you're using? Smoke, or some other color? Thanks!
I’m 95% sure it was Smoke. It was definitely the darkest colour of the range. (Also, super appreciate you checking the comments to see if the question had been asked/answered, which I’m pretty sure this never was, so thanks!👍🏻)
Just curious, but what software do you use to slice? I use craftware, but I've been having issues where some layers are omitted when I rotate my print to reduce print time. It's just something that's been bugging me that I have NO CLUE how to fix. Awesome vid btw.
I use Cura.
Nice helmet. I ordered my first 3d printer yesterday after binge-watching the mandalorian
Excellent Job!!! That looked awesome, but you said that the project took about 90 hours for the print but you had it on conservative setting, may I ask you what setting you had them set too? new to 3d printing and this is a project I would like to make.
Nice job. Though the visor continues behind where the T shape does that / \ at the bottom
If you are looking to take the metallic look a step further you should try giving it a graphite coat!
This is the Way! realy well done!
Excellent work!
Where can I find that material you used for the visor and how much does it cost? I have a custom Mandalorian helmet I made a couple years ago and the visor I have it in currently isn't the best. It works, but it's not like what you used at all. What you used it far batter and isn't cheap, thin dark plastic (I used a transparent black folder separator I got in school materials at Wal-Mart. It's all I could find that did the trick, but after a few years and use, it's kinda getting harder to see clearly through it. I could really use a material meant to be used for a visor.)
The specific visor I used for this helmet is this one: www.amazon.ca/dp/B002VECKRO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_HLaZDb7201DHN
But this is the kind I’ve used for all my other helmets: www.amazon.ca/dp/B00209JH1M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9MaZDb56EQT3Q
Fantastic work 👏
Fantastic job. It looks great! Now put that bucket on and get out there and claim some bounties
Really nice helmet. The link for the 3D printer file didn't work. :(
if you want a super strong bond for glue, you should use DevCon. You should have a respirator or a VERY good ventilated area, but DevCon is the best on the market. Kinda expensive but worth it!
Very nice and informative video. I just printed the new model and this is really helpful! Can you provide a link to the tee nuts? I can't seem to find those same ones. Thank you!
It’s a Canadian Amazon link so you might have to look for the same ones elsewhere, but these are the ones I used: www.amazon.ca/dp/B00L1LBT0M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_mpW8Db4WKFX50
Awesome video, I'm new to 3d printing just pick up a creality cr-10s printer. Just wanted to know would it be ok to use a raspberry pi ardwino to read the files you are print. If not what do you recommend?
I actually do use a Raspberry Pi with Octoprint for my printer. It ended up being the most convenient for my printer setup.
I actually have a whole video about what I use/why and the mods I’ve made to my printer that explains things in better detail: ruclips.net/video/OKyyFdj_nCo/видео.html
Nice job! Really like how you handled connecting the visor. I'm a big fan of chicago screws!
The final result is beautiful!!
Exactly what did you use to thin out the the grey paint I know its terpinoid but I would like to know the brand so I can use it to get that color you got please
Weber Odourless Turpenoid.
Didn't mean to watch this video but I'm glad I did! The Mandalorian is Awesome and you did a Great job 👍🏻
Thanks!
Love this video, have been looking for a template for a project I want to work on and you just showed me the one to use, thanks
What would you recommend for doing on the inside in order to properly wear it? I know there are helmet pads you can buy for cheap, but is there anything else you would recommend?
I normally just buy sheets of thick memory foam and create the necessary padding for the inside.
Duplicolor Metal Cast Ground Cast is a bright chrome/silver. You might have gotten a bad can.
Super fantastic work!
You should look into pcl primer. Its basically spray on bondo its amazing, we use it in my design class to give all our projects basically a plastic coating.
Looks great! You're great!
Do you plan to build the rest of the armor? Would be awesome
As of right now, no. But I am planning on starting to build Cara Dune’s entire armour/weapon selection soon.
@@studioofmm cool! Good luck. I am excited to see you doing that.
Great job on that helmet. 👍
Would you sell a mandolin helmet if made? Just curious
Dude!!! You’re Awesome 🤩
Nice work! :)
This is the way... Well done....
How do you scale the model so it fits your head?
I would check out Uncle Jessy's videos for that.
What were your slicer settings for it?
absolutely outstanding video, thanks:)
Just subscribed, awesome video. How much was the 3d printer? Is it easy to use?
I have a video all about my setup here: ruclips.net/video/OKyyFdj_nCo/видео.html
Could I just use epoxy instead of Jb weld?
this is goat level work. the Jordan kind of goat not the animal. IM SAYIN THIS IS FANTASTIC
What measures do you need to print it that size?
Maybe i missed it but which 3d printer are you using in this video?
A pretty heavily moded Creality CR-10s.
Wish you mad a list where you got are this stuff
Great tutorial! Do you recall the individual print sizes?
Great job!! Looks really good
Was the CR10S not large enough to print this as a one piece helmet?
Beautiful job! The paint job is perfect!
*THIS IS THE WAY*
Where do you get the T nuts? Im only finding packs of 100 online. lol
These were the ones I used. Still a pack of 20 but that’s a lot more reasonable than 100 www.amazon.ca/dp/B00L1LBT0M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_A4XpEbNZ5X7MQ
