WOW this is amazing! 😃 Seeing you standing next to the diorama really shows how impressive this model is. It's huge! The diorama really highlights how well you painted the Mandalorian, the metal, his clothing everything is spot on. Keep up the awesome work, if this is the quality of videos you make for 2021 I suspect this will be a very good year for you 😉
👍🏻 Cool to see another awesome diorama person make a comment on another. I probably watched almost all of your videos and I don’t even build model railroads. My father did a few times. I still have one of his that was half done, no real scenery just the early parts like the basic land, track laid out and runs, maybe 4x6 feet. It was HO scale for a railroad roundhouse. I still have a bunch of his trains and cars and models still in the packaging, all vintage but really nice. He called it Polecat Creek. A polecat is a skunk or weasel LOL. My brother and I hope to one day try and complete it, we’ll probably use videos like yours and hers to get a clue how to make it look awesome.
Holy crap.... I’ve been build models for 40 years now... I believe I’m pretty good at it...the tile grout thing is brilliant.. I would have never thought of that...amazing job.. thanks for teaching an old dog a new trick..!!!
I haven’t seen any dioramas to do with the 422nd siege troopers, if your planning to do another diorama, possibly a 422nd one (but don’t worry if you don’t, I’m sure you got some brilliant ideas already planned out! I’ll be watching a lot more of this channel, and I fear my hours of the day will be.. well, stuck to this channel 😂
To hide posts I usually use thin metals rods mounted at the very bottom of the base. The thinner surface area makes them easier to camouflage. Some shrubbery or rocks works well too.
@@KathyMillatt It is tricky because the thin metal rods require a bit of an inverted 'T' to give them stability when mounted into wood or foam. Dioramas can be tricky buggers. Thanks for the post.
Hiya Kathy. I was surfing on youtube this morning (USA, est), and I came upon your Mandalorian diorama. Truly amazing work. I was blown away by the amount of time, effort and attention to detail you put into making sand and dust look like, well...sand and dust lol. I couldn't hit that like button fast enough and you now have a new subscriber from "across the pond" lol. Stay healthy and God bless.
I actually said "holy shit" out loud when you first showed the 3d printed speeder, I totally underestimated the size. The rest of this video did not disappoint. Absolutely incredible work. I need this for the mantle!
outstanding job. To hide the main bike pole, I would connect the bike to the vertical wall with an horizontal, sturdy pin, reducing the distance between the bike and the wall at the minimum . very great job. I love it
My dad used to make models, nice to watch someone else do it. Brings back memories from childhood. On the speeder bike stand, maybe a thin mirror? The old magicians trick, place it in front angled down so it reflect the floor. Might work as the floor and the wall are roughly the same colour. Just a thought.
These are so cool! For the speeder support, you could do a few things. The easiest would be a support that doesn't go straight down, but goes out to the background before going down, and then comes back. That way you can hide it behind a box (maybe even print a box as part of the support), or as a pipe that fits into the background (say a drain pipe that comes down to just above the ground, and the support becomes the bottom), or something like that. That way it doesn't look like you're trying to hide something. And when it comes back to the base, carve a channel for it to hide in and then cover that part of the support with sand (you would want a square mount for that so it lays flat). The other option would be using magnets to make it levitate, but that would be tricky to get the positioning just right. And I'm not sure how those levitating objects do it, but I think you might need a magnet above and below to get it to work. So you might put an awning or something like that to hide the top magnet.
The speeder bike is so heavy it bent the resin pole it is on so it would have to be substantial supports to hold it from the side. Having recently done magnets in a video, they are not as easy as everyone makes out. I’m not sure I’d want to try them on such a heavy bike.
Absolutely BRILLIANT! A real show piece. I guess I am definitely going to have to break down and get a 3D printer. There's so much cool Star Wars stuff to be had that way.
Being a long time action figure collector who has just recently started sharing videos of my collection online, I have to say: you, my friend, are an artist! Dioramas such as this sure embellish anyone's collection. Thanks for sharing! Great job👍💫Cheers Kathy!
This was simply an enthralling process to watch as it unfolded, and your voice-over was incredibly clear and precise. Thank you for sharing your work with us.
This was equal parts therapeutic, fulfilling, and interesting. Nearing the end is when I realized the video was 20+ minutes long! This was an awesome video.
RUclips just suggested your channel to me this morning and I literally just watched your first Mandalorian video maybe 30 minutes ago and have been watching your other videos. Amazing work! Thanks for the great content!
THIS DIORAMA " AWESOME" this is a thing I watch almost all STAR WARS movies, some movies I even try NO to watch because I know are BAD, BUT THE MANDALORIAN series IS MY FAVORITE STAR WARS CHARACTER and is the only I want to collect. If I have the half of your talent. I make my own statue collection. BEAUTIFUL AMAZING JOB. CONGRATULATION FROM 🇵🇷
Greeting from Jacksonville, Florida. What a wonderful and amazing diorama. I live to build model's but never did a diorama. Your video has inspired me to try. I thoroughly enjoyed the video, it was professional and very informative. You done an amazing job Ms. Kathy, I had to subscribe to your channel after I watched it. This really made my day. Thank you.👍👍
What can one say, it's something Star Wars and it's made by you. The attention to details is fantastic and the total build outcome is mind blowing beautiful. I love seeing your work Kathy and viewing the end results to the modelled diorama's.
Love how this is framed as almost a tutorial in case anyone wanted to do this themselves. I learned a lot from this video! thanks! and this diorama is amazing!!!
Hi Kathy,i enjoyed watch this , i dont realize until you finished and the time pass really fast..many questions, many dubts..but is part of the magic.Tks..(sorry my English)
That's awesome! Quick pro-tip if I may give you one: For under vehicle dust, try grinding some brown chalk (like the ones in school) if you can find it, and apply that... It doesn't even need any adhesive medium, it just stays on by itself, and it is great for that dusty look.
Wonderful model and diorama Kathy, Thank you so much for building it, I use to use either a metal rod to support my model builds and find a way of hiding it as much as possible from the main sight line or clear acrylic rod, used that on the Airfix (I think) kit of the Imperial Speeder Bike from Return of the Jedi, looking forward to your next video, take care, stay safe and Happy New Year to you and the family.
@@KathyMillatt Hi Kathy, I forgot to say I always found I had to make sure there was as much support as possible within the model for either the metal or acrylic rod, sometimes it was easy with most kits being in two halves, it's been 25 years or so since I last sat down and built a kit, no amazing 3D printers back then, it would have been considered pretty sci fi to be able to print your own model kit at home, I assume it would be possible to print a strong internal support base for a rod to fit into the model if it was not a solid piece like The Mandalorian speeder, I'm sure your creative mind will have fun figuring it out, once again thank you for all your builds, I miss my train sets and making models so I do look forward to your videos and your dioramas, they are just so wonderful.
worth waiting for. Also you could print a mount for the speeder bike in clear resin for example and just sand and polish it clear so it will be super difficult to even see.
They do supply mounts to print in clear and I did wonder whether it would be a better idea but this was one mount and that would have been two. I probably should have tried it.
Great work! 👍 The base turned out so nice, you really captured the desolate desert landscape of Tatooine! I have been enjoying this series, an old western vibe to it and fantastic characters - great tribute on your part!
It is insane, when i think about how many hours you put into building this with such love for the details. But i gotta say, it definitely shows and surely payed off! I love it
This is brilliant work and some great tips and tricks there. You are truly a skilled model maker. I have just looked you up and now realise where I have heard your voice before... The Great Model Railway Challenge. And I liked and SUBSCRIBED.

Thanks Luke!
I do love big dioramas but keeping them in the house is a challenge.

Thanks! I think a few clone force 99 dioramas are next when the KS ends.
The 62 people who dislike this are clearly jealous this isn’t a part of heir collection
Yea fr, how can you dislike this video? 💀
That's a masterpiece. "It belongs in a museum!" Incredible attention to detail.

To hide posts I usually use thin metals rods mounted at the very bottom of the base. The thinner surface area makes them easier to camouflage. Some shrubbery or rocks works well too.
Thanks. I only had springy rods and was worried they’d bend over time. Next time I’ll go shopping before I need to mount something.

I absolutely love you narrating in the video. excellent job it was very educational and entertaining .
Cool. Well done. The bobble to the Troopers helmets makes it look like you could feel a hot dry breeze blowing them.
Stunning! This could be a real set for a movie scene!!!
Thank you so much!
As an artist myself, you've done a fantastic job with this one, dear. This would make any Star Wars fan happy to own.🥰🥰

outstanding job. To hide the main bike pole, I would connect the bike to the vertical wall with an horizontal, sturdy pin, reducing the distance between the bike and the wall at the minimum . very great job. I love it
Thanks! The bike was heavy enough to bend the vertical rod so I suspect something from the side would need to be very strong.
Awesome, thank you for sharing your wonderful art and modelling.
Holy wow…. Truly an amazing artist.
I love these larger scale dioramas. Fantastic end result!
What a brilliant build. The diorama looks wonderful.
Thanks for sharing this with us!

I'm just into Season 2 of The Mandalorian and your diorama absolutely captures the drama and feel of the on screen version. Absolutely brilliant.
