    This form factor is so likable ! I discovered micro form factor few weeks ago. I never saw this before, always looking at the classic ATC gaming models. But I feel like this form factor is perfect for an office PC, family PC, working PC, small game maybe. I bought an old SFF 2 weeks ago for 30$ and improved it to i5 4690 and 16go of ram for 25$. Running really well on win 10. Next I'm gonna get a micro for factor.

      for basically everything but gaming these are a pretty darn good machine, and they tend to be fairly good prices second hand

      @@rickstechrepairs exactly. In France, a 3060 start at 50$.

      It’s perfect for a homelab or home server to self host images, media, vpn, network wide ad blocking, home assistant…
      I have one running home assistant and immich and it’s idling at 2-3% CPU and is whisper quiet.

    I have the optiplex micro 7050 with currently dual channel 32gb of Kingston ram 2400mhz CL17 , i7-7700T and a Seagate barscuda 500 gb 3rd gen pcie G5 m.2 for the main drive with housed OS.
    I just ordered a silicon power NAS / enterprise rated ssd 2.5 from prime day recently and I’m thinking about upping the ram to 64gb. I am reading online if your bios is updated ( which it has ) , you can dual channel 2 32gb ddr4 sodimm sticks so latley I’ve been eyeing up some Kingston kits both consumer and gaming credible , Samsung , Corsair and Hyper X kits . I hope it works because I play a lot of 5th and 6th gen retro video games on it via retro bat clinging onto the Intel onboard UHD 630 GPU

    I ditched the wifi-card for a a+e keyed m.2 Gbit network nic to run Opnsense on it, it is now a perfect little router/firewall machine. I think you can get m+b keyed nics also if you would rather ditch the ssd and put os on hdd/usb drive.
    Anyway this little thing is great!

      Good day! So would you mind sharing the m.2 Gbit card that you upgraded to? A link maybe? Also my 7060 had an Key E in it. Is at okay to swap in an Key A and Key E in it? Thanks in advance.

      @Gutebring 4 месяца назад

      @@eduardoalverio7801 as long as the m.2 has the right notch for the slot, it does not matter if it has any extra notches. For example an A+E key card will work in a A, a E and a A+E slot. Same goes for the other keys.
      I bought my nic from amazon, but they are available here and there. Can be a bit tricky to search for, seems like the m.2 expansioncard universe is a bit on the fringe site. Good luck! :)

    Very interesting. Only a question: at 2:24 are they SO-DIMM RAM sticks? Thanks

    idk if it's only my problem but my dell optiplex 7050 micro fans are soo noisy only doing banal things. i replaced everything (ram, thermal paste, ssd) and updated all the drivers. what could be the problem?
