This is one of my all-time favorite studio tracks and I was always disappointed they didn't play it live. But after hearing this version, I think I understand. The beauty of the song is in the building layers and harmonies, and that's tough with a 5 person band and without queuing pre-recorded vocals. It really sounds thin around 4:03. Great find though, a fly on the rehearsal wall.

its the pain in his voice. as a fan since 1993, he's been known for more screaming vocals or talking vocals. this sounds great for his agony in the vocals.
So interesting to hear some NIN songs rehearsed so long ago, but only getting played live relatively recently, especially a voice straining one like this one. Still gives me hope Sunspots goes live one day.

this is why i like justin and fink better, jeordie and the other dude (cant believe i forgot his name) just should not be near a mic, they just yell like they are getting under paid and they're bored.

Remember thinking this sucked when it leaked out 15 years ago. Got to see it live twice in 2018 and it works way better than I expected
