Try one of these: the Bankhead Hat by Susie Gourlay, the Spring Ahead Beanie by Cozy Up Knits, Classic World War II Watch Cap by Helen Waittes and the Barley Hat by Tin Can Knits and they are all free. I have made all of them. My favorite is the Bankhead Hat.
Add me to the list! It's been Hat-O-Rama up in here the last couple of weeks! Chunky, worsted, each one completely different. I really like all of yours. There are so many fun colorwork patterns that would be great for the boy types on your list! Spaceships, lizards, footballs, etc etc
Iol - I get where your coming from - It's hard to make stuff you don't enjoy - as you know I am making that big blanket - I finally started the decrease it's a c2c - finally making progress - you will get your men hats - use a little colorwork to help -- take care and have a great day
You are plugging away on that blanket. It will be great once finished. I just pulled out a hat that was dragging and am turning it into a color work hat, not I’m getting progress. (I kept the rubbing, pulled out the rest for the new hat)
Those are some beautiful hats. Men's hats don't need to be plain or boring. Lots of men's hats are that very fancy stitchwork. Scandinavian countries really get into heavily patterned hats for both sexes. Colorful stripey can also work well. If any of them men are children of the 80s they might love the slime green because of the old kids game shows. Maybe some with patterns from the viking book you have?
You are so adorable. I am so glad @cinnamon stitches sent me your way. I don’t make hats so I would love to make some of the pattern that you make. I don’t know if I can make those patterns, but I’d love to try. I typically make afghan but right now I’m working on a cardigan that I’ve never made from @bag o day from crystal. ❤😊
Thank you for coming over, Jennifer is great, I’ve been watching her for years. This time of year I think I can make “all the things”. I’ll get a bunch and have a blast sharing them with people. It’s the time of giving and I’m here for it 🥰
I have done the arias hat. It’s a perfect hat for either gender. Grabbing a couple strands of leftover fingering weight on 6’s works great. Maybe I should go through my scraps again.
I'm on a hat kick as well
It’s that time of year, I think we are compelled
Mountains, leaves, stars, zigzags, stripes of scattered dots, Broncos colors!
I hadn’t thought of the Broncos colors, just because I don’t really get into sports doesn’t mean others don’t.
Sport team colors for both. Hunting theme. Bold stripes
I’m loving the idea of the bold stripes, hadn’t thought about the hunting or sports teams.

Thank you so much, I’ve saved all of these. Perfect 🥰
Hi, your hats are beautiful, My son likes black and gray ,I crochet him slouchy hats ,his fav, Have a good day
I think I’m going to have to grab my hooks and make some crochet hats too. I haven’t done that in a while. They are fast and a lot of fun to do.
All your hats are beautiful. 😊
Thank you, I’m having a lot of fun with these.
So many fun projects!
I’m having a blast with all these fun hats.

Ok, I’m not going to lie, I love the idea of a lizard hat 🤭. That could be really cool with fun colors and color work
The bees hat looks so pretty on you - you MUST keep it.
That is such a pretty hat and more of a struggle. I’ve gotten better with my color work since making that hat.
Beautiful hats❤
Thank you 🥰

Shannon, bagoday has many beautiful hats that you can make, that aren't boring
I was searching through Crystals patterns last night. I’m drawn to her baby and toddler dresses. So no helping the cause 🤣
I just added bobbles to a hat after it was done. I just used a needlepoint French knot. Fast and easy!
Great idea, I love my bobbles and as you discovered, they can be done after the fact.
Those are some beautiful hats.

You can do it ❤❤❤
I’ve had some great suggestions I can go with. I know when I like what I’m making it practically makes itself.
Hi Shannon, I find using camo yarn makes men's hats and looks interesting.
That’s a great idea, I’ve got some multi brown ms that would be really nice. Thanks for jogging my memory.

Free patterns Strib hat, Bankhead hat and Hill 60 hat. Not Too Fancy hat $2 Canadian. All great boring men patterns😊
Thank you, I’ve gone and saved and favorited all of these.
Here's my new hat tutorial, which I use for mens hats as well! ruclips.net/video/Ip5xziBlv9I/видео.htmlsi=j4ccHHS9eXc74oa4
Gary at Urban Yarn has men's hat patterns as well as Bag-O-Day.
I’ll have to go look at Gary’s patterns. I kept getting sidetracked by Crystals lovely little girl dresses
I have a simple knitted hat pattern that's reversible that uses DK weight yarn. It came ad a free pattern from the yarn store Granville ny
Shannon, have you done the Ross hat, could be used for both women and men. It seams like a very easy pattern.
I have done the arias hat. It’s a perfect hat for either gender. Grabbing a couple strands of leftover fingering weight on 6’s works great. Maybe I should go through my scraps again.
Maybe for boys hats a plaid that would give you a challenge or might be some silly patterns out there with odd pics or words.
I like the idea of doing something plaid. I’ve been enjoying the color work, so doing different designs I think look pleasing. It’s been a lot of fun.
Does your mens book that you made his sweater have mens hats in it. And I've looked up mens hats there are nice ones there
Yes it does have some nice color work hats in it. I’d forgotten about that. Thank you
This hat is a nice man hat Jason cashmere hat
I’ve bookmarked this one. Thanks to you 🥰
Why not more of those unique hats you made the with leftover sock yarn before.
Those are a lot of fun and come out so nicely too. I think I’ll have to do more of them.
Use the double strands of sock yarn and make unboring boring hats.
That’s what the one with my logo was. I love using my leftover sock yarn this way.
@ that’s why I recommend doing more like it.
🧡🍂🧶☕️
Thank you for being here.
2 mittens one each to 2 people. My dark humor came out. You need to find two one handed people but one right handed and one left handed.
You can’t help but going down that trail 🤣
