BBC and they’re latest series! Oooof amazing! Loved these series, i was hooked from the first episode, and had my eyes glued to the tv through out all 4 episodes. Not 1 boring moment, they didn’t drag it. The cast were incredible and did such an amazing job, every single one of them. And i also loved the ending. Leave it to your imagination. Wow its been a long time since I’ve watched a series that got me this hooked. I also loved the actor in Angela Black, another great series from BBC. BBC has really been pulling it out the bag! Excellent film except for the ending, which was ambiguous. Unfortunately, such endings are a Netflix speciality. This is a pity because this well-written and well-acted film deserved a little more effort by its writers in the final stages.
The ending was dog poo, that's for sure. We saw both possible endings and still don't know how _any_ of it actually went down - because how do we know any of his account is truthful or accurate? We don't.
I believe the ending was for us. We're the judge of the series. So given his evidence throughout the 4 episodes, we're ultimately responsible for deciding whether he's guilty or not. Thats why they showed us both alternative endings.
I just finished watching and wow, I don't really like crimes, i don't like series and i definitely don't like murder. But! Since this is about LOVE 💜I absolutely loved it. Especially the ending, now that was brilliance. It is never simple, it's not black and white. It is always complex. And i loved that the complexity stayed. Just Wow!

Agreed. The acting was outstanding, as was the script and the story. The ending was a letdown, because the viewer becomes involved in the fate of the characters and never learns that fate.

Great acting, great storyline, fell short on the reality side though. For instance a prison visit would end straight away if there was an assault. Did raise questions around how cps put a case together that is nowhere near as close to the truth as the jury are led to believe
I think the storyline was too much. He really risked the life of his mum, sister and himself for a broken woman. People will say that he loved her, but love is always conditional.
