Why do you travel without locals that can reveal you the hidden pearls? Pucchiacchiella is better than limoncello and you can find it in Agerola where my favourite distillery, l'alambicco, makes it with other wonderful liquors and cheap limoncello that you can taste for free before buying 😭

Great video. You were very brave actually driving the Amalfi coast! I visited there quite a few years ago having been inspired by the film Only You. I stayed in a hotel overlooking Amalfi. I remember having a very tiring travelling day but when we arrived finally at the hotel it had this most amazing breathtaking view from reception overlooking the blue sea that made it all worthwhile! From Amalfi we visited Positano a few times - you actually were less sea sick if you took the ferry rather than the bus! From Amalfi we also visited Pompeii, Vesuvius, Ravello and Capri. I totally recommend the Amalfi Coast - thanks for the trip down memory lane!!!

The Amalfi Coast is so beautiful. I was there in October of 2018 and the crowds, traffic and lack of parking was mind blowing. Emma the limoncello is amazing. I brought back some and still have a tiny bit left so I’m going to have to make my own in order to continue enjoying it 😄. Driving there was and adventure and not for the faint of heart for sure but worth every beautiful turn as the views are breathtaking. I hope you guys made it safely back to England.

Hi i live in Firenze Italia and love to cook, and make my own jam, cakes, etc...this summer i made "limoncello" by myself, i tried diffrent recepies , if you want to make homemade limoncello be shure to choose the right recepie. I found a really good one form Giallo Zafferano it does take 70 days, to make a good one it is not diffucult you need to follow the few steps... and wait form the result!!! You Will enjoy it very much!!! Find good organic lemons, and alcool and sugar that's it!!!

Magically suspended between the blue sky and the iridescent colored sea, the Amalfi coast seems to be born from the palette of a painter who wanted to use the warmer color gradients for creating a landscape that enchants the visitor at the first shot, giving thrilling experience and such evocative view to doubt, for a moment, it is real.

Love the honesty. Driving in that region is the most mental place I've ever driven on the planet. People love to drive about 3 inches from you. Love an overtake on a blind mountain road. Still loved it though. Walk of the gods was fantastic, although I couldn't barely stand the next day after 5000 odd steps into Positano.

If you want a good experience of the Amalfi coast. Go for a chauffer driven tour. 4 passengers in a big merc means the cost per person is affordable. The driver is your tour guide. Their knowledge of the area is very good. If you have a question they can answer it. My tour stopped in Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. When in Ravello we took time out for lunch in a lovely restaurant over looking the bay. Lovely memories..

This is misleading. There is no way that the majority of the tourists can skilfully drive on the Amalfi coast. The driver is not used to 35 km of curves, the driver cannot look at views and safely avoid big buses, scooters, fast cars.

So happy you got to go there before the forced exodus. You did it in the correct direction. Less traffic. I hope you get to go back. The towns are magical at night, including Sorrento. I loved Amalfi and Ravello. Positano ought to be called POSHitano. $$$$. Thank you for a lovely Monday escape. PS - Limoncello can be really potent. Most small restaurants make their own. It's very easy to make yourself, you just need grain alcohol, lemons and simple syrup... and time. A good lockdown project.

Just a quick correction: Atrani is not the second smallest town in terms of population, it's not even in the top 100, we have lots of towns with less than 100 inhabitants, but is the smallest town in Italy in terms of area, with a surface area of 0,12 km2.
Moreover, I totally agree: don't go in Amalfi coast during the summer, if you have the chance go during spring or in September/early days of October, because you still can enjoy the beautiful weather with less tourists. If you plan your trip to Italy during summer, avoid Amalfi coast, especially if you rent a car lol

Grew up on Texas beach used to shade and sun and when older visited Florida with white sand beach, sorry very good seaside Sarasota pre 2000.
Had apartment roomate from Nice France say do not be shy for swimwear. . .
but now use that mentality to buck skin cancer aging for sun umbrella when no one else does.
Dont be shy to cover up, but get vacation culture.
Have seen Italian video make fun of beachware everywere so they do care about city center society looking normal "dress codes".

You ate the cannolo correctly, with your hands 👍🏻. Parking along the Amalfi coat in summer is challenging and you’ll pay a lot for parking per hour, but it’s doable. Don’t be in a rush and enjoy the places you visit along the way and enjoy the sea while at each location, helps you keep cool in the summer heat.
