      @@LGAussie I've made 3 times so far, kept improvising and am really really happy about the results! My recent recipe to share with you: (Exactly what I did)
      2 ½ cups ground oats (or: 1 cup oats + 1 ½ cup flour) + 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds processed in Vitamix with oats + ⅓ cup or more water or milk + 1 ½ tbsp syrup or Agave + 2 tbsp sugar + ½ tsp salt + 6 tbsp peanut butter + 1 ½ tbsp oil to make a shapeable dough, but a bit on the dry side.
      If you like, you could add 1/4 cup crushed walnuts or 1/4 cup crushed dark chocolates. I did once.
      Bake at 325 F ASA the oven is turned on for 17 minutes
      *Sesame seeds have to be ground with oats to release the wonderful fragrance.
      Wish you success!

    Love these.
    You can use melted butter in place of olive oil. I add lemon thyme and sprinkle with salt flakes when I take them out of the oven.
    You can mix it up. Sooo good.
    Thank you

    • @j.w8680
      @j.w8680 Год назад

      Turbinado/unrefined sugar/palm coconut sugar? The palm coconut sugar would give these a sort of caramel-ly taste. I guess you could also use honey, but you destroy the goodness in it if you cook it, so maybe agave or date syrup? Some people use Stevia drops/granulated sugar substitutes, but I don't use them. Another option would be to use apple puree that's unsweetened with sugar, or mashed/pureed banana, but you may need to tinker with the oil as the appl/banana would add their own moisture.

    Someone gave me several pounds of steel cut oats. They are as hard as tiny stones but they have wonderful flavor. Can I bake with them? If not, it's going to take me years to eat all of it as cooked cereal. Thank you.

      @Chari Milligan I made this with honey last night because maple syrup is not sweet enough. I don't believe that honey is toxic when heated. That means you can't use it in your tea or anything that heated that uses honey as a part of a recipe, 😂😂

    FYI you can do this without grinding the oats (I didn't have a food processor) but it's a little bit flaky when you knead it.
    Otherwise it's a very good recipe.

      Another similar recipe grinds half the oats to flour and adds the rest whole, so is a mixture of both
