Hi! Just to be sure: Some profiles changed names since they came out, so the name on my Kemper can be a little different. I listed them in the description along with the new name and where to find them. Cheers!
kommi1974 Autonomous sensory meridian response(ASMR) is an experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. It has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia. ASMR signifies the subjective experience of "low-grade euphoria" characterized by "a combination of positive feelings and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin". It is most commonly triggered by specific auditory or visual stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attention control.
I just purchased a Kemper this week, still getting to grips with it, but it’s so good!! I’m running the powered unit through an Orange closed back 1x12 cab. Sounds amazing, a lot better than the FRFR setup I tried previously. Like playing a real amp, and also downloaded M.Britt D pack profiles with all the dumble stuff. It’s an amazing amp pack, especially the dumble voices for John Mayers amp clean!
Always been a Matchless guy, so hearing these makes me so happy! LOVE my Matchless Clubman... And I also had a HW AC-30...it was SO loud, it made me physically sick. those little chicken head knobs couldn't be turned low enough to get it to sound right, lol.
Dude! Fantastic tones, and some seriously great riffing! I've owned a two rock, top hat, spatial, vintage fender, vox, matchless, bogner.... the list goes on. Been wrestling with whether or not to go this route because of the price point.
I recommend you: tone junkie match chief (matchless), tone Junkie lowman 69 (bassman), Bert mertjenulik (I problably spelled wrong) Friedman be-100, and for heavy things STL tones Lee Malia. These are my top profiles, much more tight and articulate than the previous ones that I tested before (that includes the ones you listed). Regards, master.
Luiz Roberto Carvalho Bert meulendijk. It’s a hard one but I think I got it. His are great too because he makes them ready to be used for studio use. So they sound good at home. Not a lot of tweaking needed. He’s the Dutch Michael Britt. He has some freebies to test.
I think that for many of us that just like to play at home, the "experience in the room" criteria that you mentioned at the beginning of the video factors in quite a lot as to why we buy tube amps and build pedalboards. Sure, the Kemper accomplishes great tone through recording. But when I'm in my room, with my tube amp cranked and my pedalboard on the floor, for a brief couple of hours during my week, I'm a fucking rockstar!
This helps me a lot! No A/B comparison, but just juicy tones. And of course there’s nothing that compares to an amp in a room but recording and a lot of live things I do are just an amp mic’d up and blasting through my in-ear monitors. Maybe I should invest in making the switch to kemper🙈
Great video! And imagine I had the first two profiles already on my Kemper (Fender was built-in when I bought it and Matchless comes in the free Michael Britt pack). I just didn’t know they were so good! ;)
Very cool video ! Thanks for sharing. If I could give you just one little note/advice, I would have turned of the sound of your room/speaking mic to focus more on the real sound of the kemper without the pick sound and ambience. But apart of that, you got yourself a new follower !
Great tones and awesome playing as always, but the best thing about this video is seeing your unfiltered enjoyment for guitar playing and tone. Awesome stuff!
Hot damn Paul! That was saucy AF! I personally prefer playing very heavy metal, but I just love everything guitar! So watching anyone play what they love, I groove with. You are amazing! Very very nice!
I would say that we are now at a point in guitar amplification which is comparable to the photographic world 15 years ago. The purists always harked on about how you can never achieve the same quality of print from a digital sensor as you can from transparency film, they were all proved wrong and digital SLR's are now common choice for most professionals, they are still some die hard film users predominantly in the documentary and fine art spaces. Today the modern digital amps and profilers are reaching similar levels of tone/performance which are comparable to the old tube amp sounds and equally many purists are being proved wrong. The Matchless SC30 profile was perfect!!
Jamseyboywonder well, technically it's not a huge Deal to Analyse the wave transformation a piece of electronics does and copy it digitally almost completely 1:1. The future is definitely in digital modulation since no hardware will be comparable to the flexibility theses profile amps provide.
What changed photography was the opportunity to do new things. That and a huge drop in cost. Amp modelling still seems to be about capturing classic sounds with an emphasis on recording. Convenient but nowhere near as inspiring as digital photography.
I am using an unpowered Kemper with a tube power amp so it's not an entirely digital rig. For me it's a match made in heaven. Every time I switch to a new profile I fall in love with the Kemper all over again.
i once got the pleasure to play a vox ac30 in a big room with a drummer so loudness was no problem.. i didn't know my guitar could sound that amazing ^^ but yea, not that well suited for a small apartment.. great video
problem i have, i got a ac30, and i can achieve a very similar tone to that with my tele, and can get really nice dark lead tone out of it with my es335. But i can only use it in a practice space, since the powerup needs to be cranked for that. Right now i use a fender blues jr at home, which can get the good tone of a poweramp breaking up without out my neighbors thinking im really obnoxious. I am really curious about emulated amps weather it be a head like this one, or just running it in pro tools.
That number 1 tone is identical to a Hendrix song on The Experience's Radio One session recording. The song was Stone Free and I'd bet he used a Vox amp on that recording..... Yeh I know he mainly used Marshall amps, but not exclusively. At the end of the day I reckon he was recorded using almost every make of amp, but that Kemper number 1 sound is the Stone Free sound 👍
Paul is an amazing guitarist , a great teacher and above of all always a great RUclipsr ... the idea of spending that kind of money on Kemper or Fractal and similar devices these days is hardly justified when you can get as good as sounds and effects and amp models from likes of NUX , Valeton and Mooer multi effects series for as little as $200-$300
Went to A concert with Mark Knopfler yesterday(Boxen , Herning in denmark). Every tone he played sounded fucking fantastic and apparently these Kemper amps is what he used on the tour, Realy i did not matter if he played clean or a more crunch tone like in money for nothing. A much better sound overall than last time i saw him on the privetering tour a few years back where he used VOX ac30 Only down side , to expensive for my budget xD
Bought a Kemper earlier this year, replacing a Helix that I never fell in love with. Can't stop playing my Kemper. Now I'm looking at my half-dozen tube amps, wondering how many I should keep (probably just one)
Hi Paul. It's always a pleasure to watch your videos. It's time to update the list. With the release of Kemper Stage, a lot of people have entered the Kemper world now. What do you think about making a new list of the top 5 or 10 profiles for Kemper?
loving the vid! You should use your catch phrase more often btw, also if there is a profile of a 1970's fender blues junior you should try it! best tube sound i've ever heard
Wohle be nice if you could switch of your room mic when playing, that really puts me of. Other than that, you are doing great, actually you’re one of the best guitar you tubers out ther. Keep on rockin.
Fantastic sound especially direct. Much better than futzing around with mic placement. Totally inappropriate purchase for me even if I could afford it. I have a THR10 which is pretty good but not in the Kemper league.
Nice playing and great review but no-one ever talks about the buzz. Theres a lot of 60 cycle hum on some of those tones. Doent matter how good your tone is when thats layering in the background. One of the reasons why I'm getting rid of the helix floor. I hated it right out of the box. Clean sounds are nice but the distortions are terrible for noise unless im using emg pickups but even so the gate chokes the life out of my solo sounds. I heard of a few people going back to kemper for its responsiveness. I hope when mine comes in I dont have the same problems. As a recording engineer Im picky right out of the gate. Thanks for the video!
Wow, I like your taste in tones. Have you ever done a video like this on one of the Boss Katana amps? I think that there are a lot of us out here who play them and could benefit from your touch, taste, and expertise.
Hey mate, if ur not comfortable with the volume run it with a power attenuator to achieve the chewy gain compression, you’ll need to dial in a bit more treble to get your chime back to normal. Should work nicely 👌👌👌
Love the tones and your playing is great! I'm tired of lugging around a heavy amp, pedalboard, mic stand, etc. I'm considering selling them all and just going Kemper and Remote. I did that before with the Line 6 HD500X and regretted it - the tone just wasn't there live, even if it sounded fantastic in my house. Do you use it live, and does it sound great with a band in a performance situation? Thanks!
You're right! That last profile makes me want to buy the Kemper right now! My signal goes straight from my pedals to a direct box and then the sound board. No amp. I'm not happy. Will the Kemper will simulate an amp!
Hi! Just to be sure: Some profiles changed names since they came out, so the name on my Kemper can be a little different. I listed them in the description along with the new name and where to find them.
Cheers!
Man you have seriously come a long ways in your video shooting and editing. Very well done, Paul. From a professional video producer :)
Hi Paul can you tell us what you use live after the Kemper for your stage monitoring? Cheers
Paul Davids new reverbs are coming from Kemper dude. Check out the tone junkie RUclips channel. Exciting.
Paul uses in ear monitors. :)
Paul David
I just got my kemper yesterday and today my favourite youtuber ever posts a video about it. Life is good at the moment.
Christian Lopez jealous af. Have fun mate!
Not enough warning, the juicy tones got me.
Paul Davids back again with another asmr video
Chaotic Neutral Forgive my ignorance, but what is asmr?

kommi1974 I’m glad you asked now
Dude I love your color grading
Dude I love your acting
Hey Paul! You mention playing in live situations. Would you post videos of you playing live? Would love to see that!
The second profile was awesome, love that sound. So now another piece of kit I want, thanks buddy, thanks.
Amazing matchless 30 🤯🔥
Master guitar player and amazing videographer. Inspiring!
those first shots had to have been wide open aperture. at least 1.8. #bokehislife
5. TAF - Fan D'Lux BF 1969 1:35 + delay and modulation 1:52
4. Matchless JJ 3- 2:42 + delay and chorus 3:28
3. 3P Plexi & Tim on 6 2- 4:22 + pure booster 5:47
2. Marshall Rock- ('72 Mars) 6:35
1. Matchless SC30 R 2- (Matchbox 30) 8:06 + volume down 8:53
Dominik S what does ”tim on 6.2”mean?🙈
Used a Tim pedal in front of amp. Probably amp set to gain of 6, version 2. Just a guess, but based on Britt’s explanations, it is a good guess.

Very cool!!!! Thanks! Juicy is the perfect word for #1. That was really sweet.
Always been a Matchless guy, so hearing these makes me so happy! LOVE my Matchless Clubman...
And I also had a HW AC-30...it was SO loud, it made me physically sick. those little chicken head knobs couldn't be turned low enough to get it to sound right, lol.
10:11- 'Breathe, breathe in the air...'
Made me also think about the first chord of 'Welcome to the Machine'
Thought the same thing! Haha
Dude! Fantastic tones, and some seriously great riffing! I've owned a two rock, top hat, spatial, vintage fender, vox, matchless, bogner.... the list goes on. Been wrestling with whether or not to go this route because of the price point.
Fabulous tones, fabulous amp, Paul. Always a treat to hear you play.
I love how 4/5 are Michael Britt. He is truly the best!
My go to right now is a BE-100 from Reampzone. It's so versatile and awesome sounding.
THAT LAST AMP!!!!!! ITS SO AMAZING 🤌🤌
Very nice! I just pulled the trigger on a Kemper. Thanks for posting.
What monitors do you use the Kemper with at home?
How do yuo use it live?
Thanks!

Yeess! Matchless SC30 R 2- (Matchbox 30) - the sound I adore too!
Watching an old spice commercial before this and seeing your hair damp made me think I could smell your conditioner
thank you Soul man...Funky man....Dutch man...
You rock..
"I don't feel comfortable playing loud amps" . I suspect that is why you still have some hearing left ! Couldn't agree more
Man that last preset killed it!
Perfect blues and rock tone
This helps me a lot! No A/B comparison, but just juicy tones. And of course there’s nothing that compares to an amp in a room but recording and a lot of live things I do are just an amp mic’d up and blasting through my in-ear monitors. Maybe I should invest in making the switch to kemper🙈

When that Matchless SC30 started singing, the first thing that came to mind was Hendrix.
Paul, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Paul: "This is a profile of a Fender Deluxe Blackface, 19...69."
Me: "Nice."
The second amp that was played gives me a Yellow Ledbetter vibe, while the third really gave off a Look At Little Sister vibe
THANK YOU for this video. I was definitely curious about your fav profiles. Gonna give these a go for sure
nice tone and palying!!😂😂
I'm a your biggest fan in japan!!
Love your tones.
This guy has pure magic in his fingers.
Great demo ! That last tone is my dream tone. Love that wet gain.
Your playing is very clean and directly. Awesome Player!!!!
Awesome playng and awesome tones! loving your work!!
The last sound is a pretty basic one but is sound like liquid butter, coupled with the Strat is makes the perfect all rounder
I've seen a lot of Japanese musicians using Kemper Profilers and after watching your review, I'm definitely selling my kidney for one. Thanks Paul!
Great tones and awesome playing as always, but the best thing about this video is seeing your unfiltered enjoyment for guitar playing and tone. Awesome stuff!

Julian lage tutorials pls
your favorite profile tone is also favorite to all Fender guitar lovers, wich means 2/3 of all guitarist in the world. I am no exception.
Great video! Kemper is the best and you Paul is a beast at guitar! Keep up this awesome work!
Paul, please do a video on HOW your guitar tech setup your guitars.
Really great as always and thanks for sharing! 😃
Great playing. Amazing tones
That seems like a great piece of gear! Nice playing!
Number 3 is GORGEOUS
That number 1 tone is identical to a Hendrix song on The Experience's Radio One session recording. The song was Stone Free and I'd bet he used a Vox amp on that recording.....
Yeh I know he mainly used Marshall amps, but not exclusively. At the end of the day I reckon he was recorded using almost every make of amp, but that Kemper number 1 sound is the Stone Free sound 👍
Hi Paul, these profiles sounds amazing man. And also love your playing!
Great Demos! Great Amp! Thanks for the video.
Great tones! You should mute the talk mic during the samples so we don't hear all the string noise. Great videos though!
Paul is an amazing guitarist , a great teacher and above of all always a great RUclipsr ... the idea of spending that kind of money on Kemper or Fractal and similar devices these days is hardly justified when you can get as good as sounds and effects and amp models from likes of NUX , Valeton and Mooer multi effects series for as little as $200-$300
You obviously haven't compared the Kemper to the cheaper Modellers side by side in a live situation.
Thanks for the video Paul :)
Haha the bend at 4:43, you can heard the string "plop".
Went to A concert with Mark Knopfler yesterday(Boxen , Herning in denmark). Every tone he played sounded fucking fantastic and apparently these Kemper amps is what he used on the tour, Realy i did not matter if he played clean or a more crunch tone like in money for nothing.

Only down side , to expensive for my budget xD
GREAT inspiration Paul! THANKS!!!!
Thought that was a relic reissue. Sounds beautiful.
Great video!
Man thoose pickups are really clear sounding
No need for a Les Paul when a strat can sound this good. Just dig in the strings harder and and you're set! Beautiful guitar, Paul!
The first tone is so glassy and smooth.. Love it. My favorites were that one and the marshall lead tone
Strat through a tube screamer into a bassbreaker has me very happy.
Thanks for posting this! Was always curious what you used.
Bought a Kemper earlier this year, replacing a Helix that I never fell in love with. Can't stop playing my Kemper. Now I'm looking at my half-dozen tube amps, wondering how many I should keep (probably just one)
Keep two, the one you can get to sound more decent at the lowest volume possible and other one, a louder one, for gigs...
if the Kemper is so good why don't you profile all your amps and then sell them as surplus to requirements?
Best Kemper tones I've heard so far!
Friggin sweet! As usual..
1 and 5 profile are awesome!!!
Hi Paul.
It's always a pleasure to watch your videos.
It's time to update the list.
With the release of Kemper Stage, a lot of people have entered the Kemper world now.
What do you think about making a new list of the top 5 or 10 profiles for Kemper?
Incredible plexi tone preset you got there, really great. Hope one day I can afford a Kemper. Thanks for this video.
loving the vid! You should use your catch phrase more often btw, also if there is a profile of a 1970's fender blues junior you should try it! best tube sound i've ever heard
Peter, With all due respect, there is no such thing as a 1970's Blues junior amp. Fender didn't introduce the Blues Junior until 1990.

You may have sold me on Kemper with those tones as I'm looking for a direct recording solution. (Apartment life yo)
Very juicy indeed. Those kempers are the buisness, some very fine playing there too Paul.
offfffft excellent sounds!~! I go for the matchless in Bias AMp 2 !!
Wohle be nice if you could switch of your room mic when playing, that really puts me of. Other than that, you are doing great, actually you’re one of the best guitar you tubers out ther. Keep on rockin.
If Paul says he doesn't like loud amps, that's it, I don't like loud amps either! EOD.
Fantastic sound especially direct. Much better than futzing around with mic placement. Totally inappropriate purchase for me even if I could afford it. I have a THR10 which is pretty good but not in the Kemper league.
Fantastic🔥
Love the MBRitt stuff. Check out Tone Junkie as well. Their Bend Sun Pack is awesome. And check out Selah Sounds, their Kingsley Deluxe is amazing.
Nice playing and great review but no-one ever talks about the buzz. Theres a lot of 60 cycle hum on some of those tones. Doent matter how good your tone is when thats layering in the background. Your videos are great
Woaaaah perfect haircut my friend !!! 😱👍👍
And now i want a kemper...
knew that all i saw before from him was made with kempler is a totally drop balls ..
You made me want to buy Kemper
Wow, I like your taste in tones. Have you ever done a video like this on one of the Boss Katana amps? I think that there are a lot of us out here who play them and could benefit from your touch, taste, and expertise.
Mr Knopfler switched to Kemper Profilers on his latest tour.
Hey mate, if ur not comfortable with the volume run it with a power attenuator to achieve the chewy gain compression, you’ll need to dial in a bit more treble to get your chime back to normal. Should work nicely 👌👌👌
Hi Paul! Thank for all the videos you share. Just wonder what do you hear in the room and what do you use for that. Cheers!
Love the tones and your playing is great! I'm tired of lugging around a heavy amp, pedalboard, mic stand, etc. I'm considering selling them all and just going Kemper and Remote. Do you use it live, and does it sound great with a band in a performance situation? Thanks!
I think i would like the sounds. Unfortunately i can hear the room microphone as well... strings, plec, switch...
I agree. All demos taken with a room mic are pretty useless imho :(
That said, sounds nice ;-)
The tones are so juicy that I can taste it.
You're right! That last profile makes me want to buy the Kemper right now!
My signal goes straight from my pedals to a direct box and then the sound board. No amp. I'm not happy.
Will the Kemper will simulate an amp!
Hi, great to watch your videos. Do you have experience with Fractal Gear? If not, why?
