The two temps didn't match in the video. Did they match originally, but wasn't shown on the video as matching?

I don't know how I missed that 😅 I shot this video 6 months ago so I don't exactly remember what happened, but I remember this being a single cooking session. Unsure why the target temperature would change unless I messed up somewhere and accidentally changed the target temperature. Good catch. I've been meaning to do another Chef IQ video. This is a good motivator.

Why, why don't the instructions tell me how to actually start this thermometer. I have it paired and I and then what? I see a page with recipes but I want my recipe.
    Easy? Not for me today.

For your own recipe, you should be able to go to "cook control" on the app > click on "ready to cook" next to your thermometer > then you'll select a preset or quickset for custom settings. Once you confirm your settings, click "start cook" and you should be good to go!
Or you can pick a recipe in the app and follow the step-by-step process.

so NOT true, these things are garbage. Mine worked for four cooks, tops. Now the hub connects, but the probe is NOT recognized. I've gone back and forth with customer service and did all of the uninstall/reinstall blah blah and still have the refurbished unit they sent me...that doesn't work.

They sent you a refurbished unit?! That’s so wrong 😢 sounds like you had a terrible experience all around and I’m sorry to hear it.
I’ll be curious what others share. So far, I’ve only had good experiences and these are still well rated overall. I know Chef IQ has come out with a few new models since this one so I can’t speak for those and I don’t know if they still support this model.
