For those unable to access TWRP menu, what you should do is 1 Boot into download mode again, make sure "auto reboot" is not enabled in odin and reinstall twrp 2 Once it's finished, you will have to exit download mode and reboot your device by holding "power button + volume down button" 3 as soon as screen goes dark you have to press and hold power button + volume up + home button, be as fast as possible to prevent the normal reboot 4 If you boot into the normal samsung homescreen it means you failed step 3, start again from step 1 The problem you/we are facing is once the device boots normaly it restores the default recovery menu and replace the twrp thing we install on step 1

For those not being able to load TWRP with a "command not found" or something do this: "I had been turning on the phone after odin did its thing, and that caused the oem recovery to reinstall itself. So instead of letting odin auto boot be ready to push the volume up button to put it into twrp recovery."
This does the trick for me. With auto reboot off you need - after uploading TWRP - to push Power+Down until reboot and then immedietaly switching to Power+Up+Home.

For anyone whos on Android 5.0.2, you have to first update to Android 7.0 by installing the latest stock firmware using Odin. Then you can follow this video to install LineageOS. I was having issues as my tablet said it had the lastest update and was on 5.0.2, however the latest update for Tab S2 was 7.0.

Great tutorial but I cannot quite make it work ... loaded and ran twrp, no problems .... loaded the OS and GAPPs, both show as successful. But when I reboot, it goes to the same booting screen as in your video, the blue curved line with the circle moving from right to left, and it is stuck on this. I left it for hours, but it does not go any further, just stays on this booting screen .... I've checked the Lineage version and Gapps are correct and repeated the procedure several times but each time it's thte same. Any help would be very welcome!
Hello. Thank you very much for the excellent video. I followed your instructions (I have the SM-T715 and have downloaded the gts28ltexx ROM) but when I try the TWRP boot, it will only boot me to a recovery menu with no backup options available. The latest TWRP tar is the twrp-3.5.0_9-0 so at first I thought I'd try the 3.4.0 you used but still the same problem... I wouldn't want to proceed without backing up the stock ROM first in case something goes wrong. Do you have any idea how am I going to bypass this?
I have the drivers and the pc does to an extent recognize my S2 TAB, however, it's not being listed in the devices section on the pc, yes I have selected Media transfer as the preferred USB method. rebooted the tablet but no luck. i have rooted it and installed TWRP but can't install the GAPPS
It reboots after it the twrp logo shows up and. And when I try to run to run recovery again, the device is stuck in the reboot unless I let go the buttons.

Hi Si Thu, such clear steps. Unfortunately it has not worked for my Tab s2, 8.0. I think I followed all the steps, and got as far as running odin, and trying to install twrp. The odin screen showed the tablet was added, then it tried installing twrp, failed and then removed the tablet. Then odin went into a cycle of adding and removing the tablet, but no further installation attempts. I tried this with both auto reboot ticked and unticked. Any ideas anyone? thanks Louise

Thanks for posting.. I have the same T813 and on the edge of hacking this. Fear of loosing google apps is an issue I see, camera seems inop from what i read. Were you able to get the apps you wanted after doing this?
For those unable to access TWRP menu, what you should do is
1 Boot into download mode again, make sure "auto reboot" is not enabled in odin and reinstall twrp
2 Once it's finished, you will have to exit download mode and reboot your device by holding "power button + volume down button"
3 as soon as screen goes dark you have to press and hold power button + volume up + home button, be as fast as possible to prevent the normal reboot
4 If you boot into the normal samsung homescreen it means you failed step 3, start again from step 1
The problem you/we are facing is once the device boots normaly it restores the default recovery menu and replace the twrp thing we install on step 1

Worked for me nice video ! i had also to uncheck auto-restart und go right away in recovery but then it worked flaless with lineageos android 11
bought t813 for 50 bugs, installed twrp, when I wanted to go in TWRP to run lineage....screen went black almost immediately....so now is completely useless....not that lucky....have been able to get again into download mode, volume down and fortunately Samsung UI started normally....so I think the TWRP was a mess or wasn't for T813....happy to at least have it normal...is still fine for a social use....peace
Not Working sakin time it says Error No Command...
on first boot it was stuck at blue starting logo, i waited long time but was not moving next. i had to force shut off and start again which worked. one thing is that camera app no longer works. my model is sm-t813 galaxy tab s2
what one did you download
why don't have 17.1 at google drive now
Thanks Bro!!. With your guide I have installed this OS on my tablet and It works great!
Tried this several times as well as the updated changes.
Tab s2 on Android 7.0.
No luck yet
hello brother, I followed the guide for the T819 and it installed everything, how long did you wait for the first time you turned it on? 10 minutes have already passed and I would like to understand if this is normal. A thousand thanks
Thankyou.I installed it. It is fast but couldn't see any improvement in battery standby time even after the November update. Is there any other custom rom which is light in battery consumption.
Does this also work on the SM-T815?
??
mine looks like it's booting into Lineage....but then 2 minutes later it auto reboots into TWRP :(
Hello, i have done exactly as you have. but when booting into Lineage 17.1 i select the language then just gets stuck on "just a sec" screen. any thoughts?
Do you do this commercially. What's the cost, I can reinstall my software but not sure about the whole firmware thing. SM-T815 with UAE Android 7 firmware bought in Samsung outlet in Qatar
volume up continue doesn't work..nothing happens. I just get the turquoise color warning message screen. i have tried holding the up button and quick pressing it. I have also shut down and restarted several times and its and still the same...nothing happens. I can't get passed this screen to the downloader option screen.
I have the T815 model. Got to the Backup step and all I got was the Android image saying updating and then it had to reboot. Any suggestions on what I got wrong?
I follow every step twice. twrp file run smooth with Odin, but when lineage dowloaded is 18.1 not the 17.1 and when I reboot it will take me to android reboot not the twrp and crashes. I have done it twice like I said and I have the same outcome. please help.
How can I know which file is the one I should choose?. I can't find any reference to find the one that corresponds to my tablet. I already looked for some data with the ending that is in the parentheses and on my tablet I can't find any similar data.
Hello, I have been trying to install lineage but I am stuck at installing TWRP.. While trying to boot into recovery mode, device tries to install some updates and it fails. Could you guide me here?
Man I can’t get to the boot menu where you slid the tab to allow modification…. I reboot just like you did and it keeps going back to normal recovery mode…. I put the winrar zip files in my sd card because when I tried to paste in the root it would this device isn’t working or unplugged
After all the steps, it keeps booting into recovery mode at the end. Please how do I fix? It shows the lineage and goes back to recovery.
Edit: It worked. Thanks I just had to use the latest twmr
T320 pro tutorial how instal new android please
Excelent video. Just installed lineage os 17.1 on my smt-700, everything seems to work fine except that the 5ghz wifi is not available. Any way to fix this issue?
Thank you.
The latest TWRP tar is the
twrp-3.5.0_9-0 so at first I thought I'd try the 3.4.0 you used but still the same problem...
I wouldn't want to proceed without backing up the stock ROM first in case something goes wrong.
Do you have any idea how am I going to bypass this?
same thing here
I have the same problem....
Developement settings in original android
system: USB-Debugging "on"; Check Apps via
USB: off
Did you do that first? It's step 0
What about sim card and mobile network is it working I guess not.
It helps, and is more effective/efficient, to put the actual tablet model number in the title.
Nice Rom, but the lightning on the 2 buttons next to home is not working on the last rom 20201121. Not able to solve it. not a big problem, but its a little bugging me anyway.
Yea its the same for me, the first build the lights were working, I installed the newer build, they dont work anymore.
Hi, i need help. Follow every procedure till come to flashing the lineage OS where I encounter error 7. Then i can't do anything. I removed the SDcard which I did backup earlier to copy new lineage zip file. Then all my backup gone. What can I do next? HELP~~~!
T815y have completed the installation, but the device does not recognize the sim or the mobile network is not available
Any idea where I can find the files for an SM-817A? It's a Galaxy Tab S2 9.7" LTE. None of those pages list that model number though. The closest I see is SM-815.
Excuse me , it mentions that the Samsung account has to be log out before the Odin and Twrp. is it a must to do so ? I don't know have the password of this Samsung account which is given by my friend. I haven been using the phone for long but never thought about to logout the Samsung account.
Great video how about a rom for a SM T818W LTE rom I cannot find it on the link you provided :)
my tablet is model no sm-t813.While getting into recovery mode, twrp does not open and manual mode opens.Where is the problem? I don't have an sd card by the way.
would I be able to download my google play movies and shows yet? and play cod mobile, minecraft and pubg mobile yet? like does it have official google play support of paid products? most of the android os types I have ever tried before on computer never let me download games and movies onto the device. plus I have a galaxy tab s2 9.7 wifi version as well. thanks.
ı made everything.. upload rom but when open screen turning logo turn turn and finly last reboot and open twrp menu... why did it I dont understand?
17.1 rom seems to not be available in google drive, only 16.0
Just check XDA thread
So you don't have to activate developer mode like i did with my telephone?
my device can't flash twrp file, odin said flashed but opening the stock recovery. i opened the usb debugging and install usb drivers but can't flash twrp.
So, I just can't TWRP to stick. I have tried removing auto boot option in Odin, but this has made no difference. Is it worth me taking the tablet apart to remove the battery, preventing auto reboot occurring?
Great video but will this work on a samsung galaxy tab 4 10.1 SM-T530NU? I don't see any download link in Lineage for my device. Does that mean it's not available? Is there anywhere else I can look to see if this is available? Thanks
Is it just on windows or can I use mac for the process?
uuh - it did´nt looks difficult, so i try it on my SM-T715 (Tab S2 LTE 8.0) but i´m not be able to run twrp for backup and install. Odin say transfer OK but no reboot on the tablet. Also with deaktivated auto-run same result. Any other ideas? i really like to upgrade from v7 to v10. Other possibilitys without twrp?
Does this work for galaxy tab s 8.4 ?
Do I need to run Odin first before my windows 10 will see my tablet?
Hi Si Thu, such clear steps. Unfortunately it has not worked for my Tab s2, 8.0. I think I followed all the steps, and got as far as running odin, and trying to install twrp. The odin screen showed the tablet was added, then it tried installing twrp, failed and then removed the tablet. Then odin went into a cycle of adding and removing the tablet, but no further installation attempts. I tried this with both auto reboot ticked and unticked. Any ideas anyone? thanks Louise
Does this work on samsung tab s 8.4 lte SM- T705?
I have the same tablet with Exynos Octa 5420, I ask the same question
I have a Samsung GT N8010 and I am unable to get the pass from Odin, the very first pass. I have tried all the tricks others offer here at RUclips, any suggestion?, please...
Thanks for this video. I have the following problems with my T813:
- The camera does not work (error message: unable to connect to camera).
- The Play Store shows for some apps that my device is not compatible with this version, so the app can not be downloaded.
Thanks for posting.. I have the same T813 and on the edge of hacking this. Fear of loosing google apps is an issue I see, camera seems inop from what i read. Were you able to get the apps you wanted after doing this?
hi uhh my sm-t810 doesnt flash twrp it says its succesful but it boots into orginal recovery ):
yeah me too on my sm-t715 :(
