    Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 vs Motorola Razr 40 Ultra: which is best? The Razr 40 Ultra is the best of the bunch, and could be the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s biggest rival when it lands in the next few weeks. Inside, the Z Flip 5’s 6.7in flexible AMOLED is smaller than the Razr’s 6.9in panel, and maxes out at 120Hz. Both the Z Flip 5 and Razr 40 Ultra have a pair of rear cameras, plus a single selfie cam for the inner display. Z Flip 5 lands with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, While Razr 40 Ultra only arrived a few months ago, but it uses a previous-gen Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

    At the end of the day, its personal preference. I choose Razr+ over Z flip 5 because I like the Razr's design and looks better than Z flip 5. I am not worried about the CPU performance, because I barely use my phone except for office work, and slightly larger display (+.2) on the Razr+ wins in my case so badly that I can use Microsoft Outlook, and Teams for short emails and replies, and can use Zoom meetings without opening the internal display, and it is very useful feature for me. Thanks!

      @oscaru5342 What I am thinking is, if one says wobbly display, others also say the same without knowing what it actually is. My Razr+ is strdy as hell, and I even dropped it recently. Thanks to the case, there is no external or internal damage, and the amazing thing is, even though the external display is unprotected, there is not even a scratch on it.

    • @AnonTriple
      @AnonTriple 10 месяцев назад +4

      Some people don't use smart watches nor tablets so that integration might be useless. Also if you don't have a trade in, the flip 5 turns out to be much more expensive than the Razr well in Australia anyway. If you're just buying both phones outright, the flip 5 is 200 to 300 dollars more expensive than the Razr. Which could be a deal breaker for some and also the minimal advantages of the flip 5 might not really be worth the extra cost. Also the Razr has a cheaper alternative as well that is under 1000 bucks here in Australia. About 670 US dollars. That'll bring in a lot of people who don't have a lot of money to enter the flip market. I salute Motorola on doing that.

And when it finally did(after Motorola came out with their foldable phone), it's still not superior to Motorola's phone on every level... By the way, I've been a Samsung fanboy for years so you can't accuse me of hating on Samsung. I just recently traded in my Z Flip 4 for a RAZR Plus and I'm so glad I did.... I've chosen Razr. I've been using Samsung and Motorola phones my whole life, I love small things motos have, the way you shake your phone to turn on flashlight or flip it to turn on camera, works great every time (used it in the past on motorola phones and I can't live without it now). I also think having better dust resistance is a great choice because I'd never put any flip phone under water anyway.

      I do have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7+ and a Macbook Pro
      As a consumer I like to diversify and go with what I think is best for me not just be with the most popular
      love all the small details moto puts into their products.
      also you can choose when you close the phone whether it ends a call or will switch to speaker phone when you close it.
      And personally it takes great photos not sure what folks are talking about Samsung does too much to photos whereas the RAZR is more realistic and gives the user room to manipulate more in a photo app is you want.

    I really wanted to get the Motorola Razr Plus about 4 weeks ago but I waited to see what the Samsung Flip 5 had to offer. I ended up choosing the Flip 5 and here's why; The Trade in value I got for my old Samsung was insane and It has the newest SD 8 Gen 2 processor, and the much better cameras, but that's not why I chose it. The most important reason I chose the Flip 5 was because of Samsung's track record of making great and reliable phones with MONTHLY updates and timely software upgrades. I definitely LOVE the specs on the Razr screens in and out, I love the look of it. I don't love the ugly almost barebones android type OS. I love that you can use almost any app on the outer screen, but then you can as well with Good Lock on the Flip 5.(You have to DL it and really LOOK for this in Multistar\Goodlock Module. Motorola while making an AWESOME offering, you just don't know how long the unit is going to last and Motorola is notorious for taking FOREVER to roll out security updates and software upgrades. SO after watching about 100 videos on both phones, Samsung is the winner in my book.....but not by much

    Samsung... Just by the feel way more refined. And not only the feel but how long they've been in the game they've been able to spend almost 5 years refining this phone which Razr hasn't. Perfect example is is flooding the internet that the razor has bugs in the software that can be updated out and also the battery heats up. That's to show you that they are new to the game.
    This is also just like my debate with the Google fold verse the flip 5. I know people with the Google fold that left Samsung and are now crying about how a lot of the apps don't fill half of the inner screen up and a handful of other things since it's the first generation. Just like Samsung's first generation was not that great, lesson learned for most should be the first time someone comes out with a big new design you wait till at least the second generation until they fix and work out all of the hardware and software issues. So I'm sticking with the Samsung because of the hardware and definitely overall the software(the snapdragon 2, yum), the razor having minute edges in certain areas would not bother me as I would not and most people would not notice unless they were extreme gamers or phone enthusiasts.

    currently looking around for the best flip phones. As I love the flip phones for the conveniences and the fact the things they can do, what normal phones can't lol I've been using Samsung phones for 20 years now. I'm willing to go to another brand if the phone is better lol only just come across the thos Motorola razr. Any ideas to help me out lol

    Ok my biggest gripe with Motorola is that they are unreliable if it comes to long time support for their phones. As long as they can't match their support cycle with Samsung's I will not switch.
    Other than that it's a solid phone and beautifully crafted. Just never been a fan of Motorola's interface and in contrast to some other commenters here I am a fan of Samsung's One UI so yeah I'll stick with the Flip5 for now. But I think you can't go wrong with either if it comes to the user experience and I have to be fair, Moto has come a long way from being almost erased from history to bringing the buzz back! Competition is good, keeps everyone on their toes!

    the killer difference for me is definitely OS. When Pixel 6 came out I was so unimpressed so I switched to the Galaxy Note+, whichever was the latest. Loved the hardware but I found One UI to be such a downgrade from stock Android. I bought the Razr because I wanted a small foldable and the OS is VERY close to stock.

    • @toadsage
      @toadsage 10 месяцев назад +5

      Opposite for me. Since 2014, I've only had one phone that wasn't made by Samsung (I had a Nexus 6 in 2015) and I really like Samsung's android skin. I had the RAZR+, but it was worse than my Galaxy S21 in pretty much every way, which I expected due to the folding design. I could've lived with the worse specs, but I didn't like the OS because I'm so used to Samsung. I will be fine with the worse specs on the Z Flip 5 because it has the Samsung UI that I've come to love.

      Exactly my thoughts. I just dont like all the samsung bloat. Since the razr is more stock like a pixel, i will prob go with it. I also think it looks better and of course the outer display is bigger, who would not like that. Samsung has way better trade in prices for your old phone while Motorola's is lowball ridiculous. Thats what really is gonna hurt them.

    I recently bought a Razr 40 Ultra but have returned it and pre-ordered the Z Flip 5. Having previously come from a Samsung phone I found the UI on the motorola just wasn't up to scratch compared to Samsung's One UI. I'm looking to get my first flip phone and I've chosen the Samsung. I honestly think I like the RAZR more but the biggest decision maker for me was the promotion offered by my cell service (Google Fi). Both phones are offered with a bill credit to help offset the base price, but they offer $700 for the Samsung vs just $400 for the RAZR. For me it just came down to economics.
