Such an inspiration! Ben tells us his amazing story of how he overcame adversity and created his business! Had such a good time meeting Ben again and talking about Harvey's first business adventure! Everyone deserves a chance, and I want to help Harvey set up his own range of clothing! This will be Harvey's business! We met Ben just over 2 years ago when he was building his business up. I shop with Bc4u because they have a great range of clothing for the bigger man. My son has issues similar to Ben, it was wonderful on the day we met Ben he took the time to speak to my son and show him what you can achieve when you put all your energy into something you love. Thank you Katie for making this video to highlight these issues and to help people understand. Also thank you to Ben for taking the time to talk with son who shares the same name Ben. 😃

We're so glad that yourself and your son remember this! Our aim is to empower others with autism to do and be exactly who they want to be, without criticism or neglect. Understand completely. My teen son is autistic with adhd. He was treated as being autistic but didn't get official diagnosis till he was 14,and only with me chasing it up for years and years. Got an apology for it taking so long but that didn't help us much. Have to say my son is growing up to be a caring and loving young man. Xxx

Living in Denmark, Katie is not someone I had ever heard of until I saw an article about the documentary, Harvey and Me which I then watched. What you do for people with disabilities is amazing Katie. WOW Thank you from all of us with disabilities

My son is autistic, he was so anxious and depressed, it took a long time to settle , as soon as I took him out of school and home schooled him he started to relax! He is 20 now and still suffers from anxiety and depression, he has been on Prozac for years but it does help him! He never leaves the house, he is petrified that something bad will happen to him, my eldest has been at uni for four years but when he comes home it’s nice to have him as he understands he’s 22 and they play computer games together!
I worry about my youngest son all the time, what will happen when I die? We have an amazing relationship but he gets very upset if I have to leave the house for appointments or shopping! His obsession with Doctor Who, he lost the plot when the doctor became a woman, that is when he smashes his head against the wall! He is currently writing his first novel, his writing is amazing, he also writes lyrics and poetry!
As soon as Harvey started to play up, frustrated with the multiple partners and "New Dads" coming through the door he was shipped off out to residential

Oh Katie, you are really back to your best self. Thank you for giving this man a platform. Thank you raising awareness around Autism. I'm a director of a CIC, called Sense Abilities. I've been deviating whether to send Harvey some of our items, after watching this, it wil be my mission in the new year. As a mum off a child with Autism, who spent 2 years out of school, whislt I took the council to court. Watching this has given me so much hope for the future. When Katie said that if it wasn't for Harvey's other disabilities, people would just think he was badly behaved, she hit the nail on the head. Its so true of people's attitudes when it comes to non-visual conditions.
Really great too see a young lad doing so well i have 2 autistic children one 18 and one 12 and ppl dont understand my 18 year old has made it too uni and i am so proud ... go for it havery x

Thank you for sharing! I work with high schoolers with ASD! They have so much to give and each child is just a gift! I worked in early childhood for 23 years and now it has been 4 years working at a school just for kids with ASD! Truly love Harvey! He has a heart of gold! Love from Minnesota!

My sister is autistic and although she doesn't have violent or dangerous rages she has extreme emotional rages and people find her hard to deal with but as a family we know what helps her and I love when people are open about all types of autism as some people assume everyone is the same. ❤❤

Ben thank you for your bravery sharing your story. I have 2 sons, one with ASD and one with ADHD, who both have violent rages. I worry so much for their future. It gives me hope to see how well you are doing!
My daughter is 5 and she has autism and she's very very smart! She's in year one but she's doing year 3 school work at the min and she's still not doing the work that challenges her, she loves Harvey and his pictures, people have their own idea on what autism is but it's such a wide range and I wouldn't change anything about my little girl (I'd help her and change all the bits she struggles with) but she wouldn't be her without autism and I love every little bit of her Autism can do amazing things 💜

This is great well done Harvey 👏 my son has high spec autism but also other disabilities deaf etc. Its always good too see those with disabilities doing well and going far in life,it gives hope not only for the person with the disability but for parents like myself who worry so much about there child's future 🥰

What a lovely man with a very sad story 😔 poor bloke. It’s disgusting how the system treats the autistic community by lack of understanding. This isn’t the first story I’ve heard about someone locked up and sectioned being misunderstood. The other person has lost half of his life lived so far....It’s wrong. More needs to be done ✅ 💙

Amazing man. And I agree with katie, those youngersters that are on the spectrum whether it be autistic, dyspraxia or whatever these ppl have got a high intelligence and 100% are truly amazing at art in many form and ways. I only say as I take from my own life and experience with a young niece who has dyspraxia and the professionals said that she would be needing to go to a special school as she got of age. But as each ye came and went it was clear to see that this kid have some high intelligence and was now schooling and correcting me when it came to everything from animals and every piece of info ye could get on the animal she would be spot on. So my sister put through nursery school, and them the mainstream primary school and from there she had a s.n.a. in school or class if she need her. But right now my Niece has passed all her exams and has won a few award competitions from colleges when she was still in primary school days. So much so that she ended up getting a scholarship from her hard work and she is now in there like 3½years and not gonna be too long off her Bachelor's Degree. Shes a fantastic writer artist and creator of stories and she also animates the stories and characters and all that. And may I say her eye and her ability to draw with Such Amazing Detail it's unreal like. So these kids thrive off of you just giving to them and them receiving nothing but , care, nurture, attention, routines, understanding and a lot of understanding on the adults side and Nmber 1 Unconditional Love and all the other things you would give and love on with any other child. Oh and they don't like loud noises whether it's a balloon pop, or a door slamming, it's not just because they are and their hearing compared to our average hearing is so so so much more sensitive that they react in a way that other may think or look at their reactions and be like what the fuck that was a bit dramatic and over the top. But that's how they are wired up. Just like we're all wired up, but not all of us are wired up quiet the same way yano what I mean, for some it's just wired up but in a uniquely different Brilliant kinda way. ✌🏼💜🇮🇪🌐

Brilliant! So positive. My daughter was diagnosed with adhd last summer and she’s very bright and clever but really struggles with focus and organisation but she has big aspirations and this just shows that she can do whatever she wants.
