-- I went to Catholic grade school. When I was in second or third grade I looked up into the clouds and thought about what the nuns told me: If was good, I'd go to heaven where I'd be happy forever. My next thought was: But then I'd be bored.
I was on the correct path but didn't know it at the time.

I’m glad you did highlight this part and not the following one (here is the place to have that experience). If that was the highlight it could be read as another one of those "it’s all here and now, get your cup full” statements where practical atheism is masked as spirituality. But this is… well, something else! It got me instantly. Such a beautiful way to put it. It’s only beautiful if it’s true, though. Like the other fella said “let’s see what happens”. Cheers

The 'Vishwakarma' is not just a carpenter, he is the supreme god of craftmanship. He is considered as the divine engineer or architect of the universe. Whose ultimate creative power hold together the universe. The five prime craftmen communities(who are considered as the direct descendants of Vishwakarma's 5 sons) worship him viz. the carpentors, the blacksmiths, the goldsmiths, the metal casters and the stonemasons.

I hear self-doubt and self-deprecation in your words Laurie. What if 'going off into the womb of the forest' - in whatever form this may take, IS your way of 'facing your true self'? What if this desire (which you doubt) is your soul's calling to you? Surely in a state of retreat, stillness and contemplation we are able to go within and hear the voice of inner guidance and truth. Now more than ever this is the very best thing we can do!

Sanatana Dharma, meaning the Eternal Way/Order/System/Foundation, is the original name of Hinduism.
Sanatan dharma is not a religion..it is way of life..Dharma and religion are different things...when krishna talk about saving dharma he was not talking about saving hinduism, he was talking about right deeds.
Sanatan dharma was there when no religion existed. nobody founded sanatan dharma like other religions.

Barry Woods brahman means that which is infinite , and growing, in samskrtam.
      A-brahman would mean =>
NOT-Brahman in samskrtam. The “A” as a prefix is a simple negation.
So either they are completely different words, or, A-Brahman means a philosophy and a people completely opposed , consciously, to the philosophy of the followers of Brahman.
I think the latter is the case. Vedic philosophy and the upanishads do not separate the creator from the created- they look past duality.

All religions 👉 (paths created by a certain person) can laugh on *Many Gods* of Hindus... but but.. In Hinduism ..the ultimate is the ' Infinite consciousness...'
..infinite as thy sky itself.. " Brahm " or *Om* 🕉️..." meaning infinite eternal existence which a Hindu chants while praying to any diety like Ram, Krishna or Shiv . While praying or doing Yoga.. Om is chanted. Om 🕉️ is called to be the most fundamental sound produced by every particle in space (yes, there is no air in space.. but ocean of quantum particles exists everywhere).
Once read silently about Hinduism & get deep look in this matter. In Hinduism.. the soul is consciousness which take births in all species including human, animals, birds, plants , insects, etc. ....which on reaching higher platform.. becomes a angel or God, Goddess (Gods are high posts reached by pure beings for certain time from where they can look after general human and other beings and try to prevent mishappenings) ...and when it is trapped badly by his/her own emotions & tries to go against the laws of nature to fulfill its desires... it unknowingly becomes a ghost 👻 for certain time. And soul is not created by any God , but it is a part of the "ultimate consciousness" and it exists from time eternal. It is inseparable from infinite consciousness like a part of sky can't be separated from the rest sky.
In fact.. when one thinks deeply then one can feel that consciousness can't be created by another consciousness. No there is no god or Goddess etc. who has created other beings. If we exists today... then we must be existing before present and after... we must be existing from time eternal to upcoming forever. When you see in eye of a innocent baby, person, cat or other being.. You may feel that the soul existing in it cannot be created by someone else & there is something (soul or consciousness ) in those eyes which should and can't die even after the death of the body.
And even God is not personalized in Hinduism(the Sanatan dharma or the eternal way)... it is the ultimate consciousness itself.. infinite as sky. Hinduism is not a religion.. it has no founders, no particular holy book, it existed in ancient times all over the world (there are thousands of proofs being found in excavations) . And today's Quantum physics is forced to accept the existence of the ultimate consciousness. Hindu dharma or the eternal path is simply bowing to the 'ultimate consciousness' acting on living beings as forces of nature, which makes us feel its existence as our inner consciousness. Consciousness is existence.. all matter and energies are its passive and active expressions !
Do you believe that in the beginning of the universe.... there must not be a single particle present in space(opposite to both Big Bang & The Steady state theory). Either everywhere was empty space or everywhere was matter. I mean to say simply that whatever ' Existed' must be existing everywhere. It can't be that naturally at one place there was space and at other place was a 'small particles of matter'. Everywhere should & must naturally be the same. If automatically most of place was Empty Space... Then why why.. at some tiny place there was a ' lump of matter' ?? No matter how much mathematics or physics one knows... but if he can't himself get this point... He is a ridiculous person . Scientists have " brain + accumulated knowledge that was searched by previous scientists" .... but that doesn't means what I am telling is hard or wrong to understand.
First be simple... and then try to apply intelligence from the root of consciousness..... and one will know much about the core of the natural existence. I will explain by an example... If I am in a forest.. I knows naturally what things may be around me on, above or below the ground (& how I have to act). Only to know particular incidents we need information, details of that incident.(like.. in left side of me, may be at a distance of about 80 metres.. a fox has has just killed a rabbit.... this only I can't know simply by intelligence... but for it I have to get information about it may be by hearing a sound and moving to some distance in that direction.) we need information, details of that particular incident. But to know the basic core of existence... one should have silent deep instinct consciousness... for it reveals to us simple logic leading to the basic or ultimate thing which must exists by its own (without any cause or incident leading to its formation). But scientists are trying to reach that point by observing incidents happening in universe. But they can never reach so called basic fundamental particle or core of existence.. since however small the basic particle may be.. it will have shape (round, etc.) and size.. and then questions will arise that how it has that shape, .. from how much time does it has that size and shape.. billions, trillions of years or forever.. if forever then how it was fixed that it will have that size and shape only.. why from forever at some place there was blank emptiness and at some places there were 'somethings' other than blankness.. I mean matter !! ( 'All' energies and waves are nothing but movement of particles {material or smaller quantum particles, etc.} in so called emptiness of space, field is nothing but area being affected by a particle). Suppose we can somehow be able to see (or know) everything.. not only atoms, quarks, photons, dark matter xyz, etc.. but the smallest or basic particle or the thing which really exists.... then think.... At any place there can be something or nothing.. 'anything which will have form or shape' will be surrounded either by something other.. or total blank emptiness. So why there was at some place blank emptiness and at some places there were something rather than nothing?, how the shape and size of that something was fixed?, how can those basic things or particles etc could affect other things?, they can atmost collide with others but can't attract or repel or apply any force .. since there will be nothing but blank emptiness between them!, many more unanswerable questions will arise like what really is difference between that something which exists and nothing which surrounds the something.. why both exist..even when there was none to decide what will exist and where that something and where that nothing will exist. It is simple that whatever(something or totally nothing) exist from forever without any reason will exist everywhere and forever. If nothing exists everywhere.. then who are we here thinking about this all..!!.. means something exists without any cause or reason, from forever, everywhere. Then what
is reality..??!!!!.. all things we are seeing having shape are not real.. since on reaching deep we see there can be no boundary, colours are just illusion, things which we can touch.. and the blank emptiness which we can't are and must be the same. So all things are nothing but the same.. just one thing. Although there is nothing (like world appears to be) , although all is illusion, imaginary, although we are seeing, touching, feeling everything which doesn't have any meaning of itself.. then why are we are in illusion (since things look so real)... It is itself the answer of all.. that yes.. consciousness exists...... we exist .
I know this all by deep thinking.. searching for reason. questions after
questions raised in my mind.. and while thinking deeply on facts.. I wrote almost two thick notebooks. If anyone has some questions.. can ask me. *And I know this all is in Vedas from time unknown.*
      A song in Rigveda.... ruclips.net/video/zW2c1SPyy6I/видео.html
Now the Quantum Mechanics is indicating scientists to move intellect towards Insight. For foreigners... India should be understood as insight, instinct and inception. Great scientists like Tesla(who meet Indian spiritual leader Swami Vivekanand), Einstein, Carl Sagan, Oppenheimer, Schrodinger, etc. knew this hidden silent Ancient India. ruclips.net/video/Ugyrzr5Ds8o/видео.html The great Indian mathematician Ramanujan even told that for him a mathematical formula doesn't have any value till it signifies the working of the ultimate reality.... the consciousness.

Correction..life of a Brahma is not 432,000 years. It is much much longer.
108 mahayugas is half day for Brahma. Each maha yuga consists of 4 yugas. Kaliyuga is shortest, which is 432,000 years. Longest krutayuga is more than 1.7 mn years.
And each Brahma lives 100 years. 100 brahmas make half a day for Vishnu. And 100 years for Vishnu, is 1 second for Shiva, that is when he opens his third eye.

Another deathbed story... After all the research he made, all the conclusions he reached, suddenly, just because he's dying, he would "convert". Catholicism is but one of the many interpretations of reality, you're free to follow what you want, in the same way that any other person, including those who already died and aren't here to defend themselves from such claims. Needing to agree with your religion tells much about you and catholics in general, not about Joseph Campbell. Such an egoistic point of view, while he was so broadly accepting the different ways in which humans explained and expressed the perennial reality.
