"Sounds like persona" idk man, Persona kinda sounds like Nocturne.
Yeah u're right.persona kinda sounds like nocturne
My friend actually said SMT is the spin off for personas💀

To be fair, it doesn't match the setting of the game.
It probably would have served a role in the game if it was actually added

I remember someone else said it before the original video was taken down: keep in mind that this was JUST A SOUND TEST, Jesus Christ, Meguro.
Gotta test them hard
Flexing on the PS2 sound chip like the badass he is
@@Diego35HD Beyond flexing. He's bullying it.
Sorry but he's downright raping it
Spent all of that time making amazing tracks only for all of them to be compressed to shit to fit on 1 disc.
Dude was jamming in his recording studio and said "nah, this is just a test."
Maybe this track was flagged as innapropriate for being too damn sexy
VERY Excited Doggo flagged inappropriate for an smt game?

funny to think how this was never meant to be heard by anyone outside of the dev team
Dev listens to banger music
MAXIMUM POWER!!!
Makes you think on how many awesome tunes made by Meguro the Atlus dev team listened and didn't have even released
Should be illegal not to release a banger like this
Too powerful to be contained

How about persona 6 is alternate reality where naoki was protagonis and enjoy life like all other persona protagonis
@@fluxthemagician7928 Persona 6 is basically the Neutral Nocturne Ending then? Not gonna lie, that would be pretty funny.
@@Neverbloom The Freedom ending? The one with Ms. Takao? Would be pretty sick, except he wouldn't be any normal kid since he still has his powers in that ending if I recall correctly.
@@professionalfangster1510 I think he's concious of everything that happened in the vortex world but doesn't have his powers.
I could be wrong though.
@@Neverbloom he was warned by lucifer but iirc no proof he kept it to himself but assuming from smt4 he probably kept it because he stands up to himself
Makes me think about Demi-fiend sitting in the sand somewhere and watching the angels fly around
Christop The illusive Man really to me this is him looking up at the masive Monolith leading to Kagusichi with a look of resolve as he reflects on his journey opening the door and saying let's end this!
Stop it, you're making me want to play Nocturne again...
Christop The illusive Man Sorry it's just one of my favorite games of all time -_-
Feels like Demifiend's non-battle leitmotif, like a cutscene theme whenever he makes a significant action. Unseen Vortex(alpha ver. Battle theme IIRC) would be his new battle theme as a symbol of his past in the vortex world.
You know there is official art of such a scene.
Meguro: S O U N D T E S T.
Dude's just casually composing a magnum opus as a sound test.
I love how this theme sounds like it's straight out of a Persona game that's actually in a mainline SMT world.
"You spent the day murdering hordes of demons with Pixie...."
"...."
"You feel your relationship with Pixie will get stronger soon"
Pixie best girl
No this sounds like DDS.
@@doublebassman123 nope, this sounds stuff shoji meguro would make.
the rhodes, spicy bass fill, awesome guitar riffs. that's shoji aight
but yeah he did music for DDS too, so you're half right i guess
rofl why are you mad that people are drawing similarities between different OSTs composed by the same person? jesus the smt elitists these days
It's too good, it's a shame it's not in the game.
This song sounds great outside of the game but honestly it would not have fit the game at all, this is way too upbeat for the game's dark atmosphere
It's pretty much like Persona 1 PSP's OST where it's great Jpop outside of the game but in the game itself, not fitting at all
But maybe that's just me lol
@@DragonMarkting I totally agree with you. This song would fit in much better in P5. I feel like Demi Fiend would at least have to tap his toes if he heard this song. That being said, this song is godlike and it would be really cool as a specific ending credit song or unlockable in an audio menu or something.
@@1993xavier
Agreed, P5 would definitely be more fitting of this
@@DragonMarkting oh hell no
@@DragonMarkting I agree and disagree. I feel that yes this song is a bit more chill and perhaps too calming to be in argueably the darkest, spine-chilling and grimest Megaten game but to be fair Nocturne has a couple goofy sounding tracks like when you first meet those ghost girls in the kalpas or the pyro jack that's ticked off that Thor let you off the hook. I personally love this track but I can see where you're coming from. And the fact that this was going to be the sound test of all things makes Meguro probably one of my favorite music composers.
y'all saying it sounds like persona, and i only hear Raidou on this track smh
"Raidou explains the circumstances of the investigation to-
some of the instruments I can only ever remember being used in persona 3, but the song as a whole sounds like a raidou song thats a little more excited
To be fair raidou 2 and p4''s soundtracks sound pretty similar imo
@@merah5131 well, yeah at the time of the making of raidou persona 4 was out in Japan and Shoji probably got some ideias from there.
Althought i do find the tone of the raidou series to be a bit more jazzy than the latter, hence my comment
@@gurafegurafe3976 makes sense since persona 4 released in july 2008 while raidou vs KA released october 2008,

@@borissurkan3035 Good. The Demi-Fiend seems to be halfway done with his job.
“Where’s that Forneus!?”
Please add this to the HD remastered ....
Yes and no, released as a seperately ost bundle ...
lol, if only the switch port was actually a remaster and not a cash grab port.
Imagine bitching about a 20 year old popular game being remade
@@FRANKxxFRANKxxFRANK that’s just it. They touched it up in order to make it run on other hardware (or you can tell us that it’s actually the PS2 game running on a PCSX2 wrapper), meaning that hey would have to get into the nitty gritty of the files and then WILLFULLY not fix a flawed part of the original game.
@@AdamOwenBrowning it isn't a cash grab
This is amazing. It sounds like a full blown fusion arrangement of the Normal Town Battle theme.
Glad im not the only one thinking that
An unreleased track has no right to be this good.
correction : a track as good as this has no right to be unreleased

You can't treat "Broken" like this
@@linkach8898 from shadow?
It's inappropriate content because that guitar is DIRTY.
Imo this song really fits the game for what it's used for which is the sound test menu. This music isn't in game it's outside of it and it makes it obvious by how groovy and jazzy it is giving you reminder to take a break and realize you can relax for a bit now before you jump back into the dense and rich atmosphere of nocturne.
I feel for this OST like I am walking across the Votrex world all alone, i am empty.
Is a relaxing music, but is kinda sad, not properly sad, but empty viewing.
Is a journey with just my troughs and a shine annoying light.
Totally felt that 🤙

Such a mellow song with some decent energy and variation. I wonder what part of the game they would have used it for. Maybe as an overworld theme before Japan got turned into the vortex world.
Found my next song for my videos!
Well, since it's called "Sound Test", it would've probably been for a scrapped sound test feature.
Probably Its just something Meguro improvised for testing and since it didn't fit with nocturne they removed it.
SMT is so criminally underapreciated in every aspect, which is strange, because the franchise really EXCELS in every aspect.
I know right It literally invented the concept of monster collecting JRPGs which Pokemon is
@@loganlawver4180 Exactly lol, it's funny how much I'm reminded of pokemon but at the same time not really when playing nocturne hd. Smt and Yu-gi-oh is what parents thought Pokemon was back in the day.
SMT really is a Strange Journey
Yeah but since you can't date underage girls like in that one spinoff, mainstream fans won't play it.
@jack ebola No.
this song feels strangely nostalgic
Have you played Persona? Your answer might explain why.
@@ryanhernandez8324 i have but i don't think my familiarity with meguro's work is inherently the reason.
@@elijahbradley704 Ah, how strange! My father said, just a couple hours ago, that he's heard this song or "something like it." There is absolutely no way that he's heard this exact track, so I wonder what it is about Meguro's work that makes it so familiar. Hmmm... What a genius, he is.
@@ryanhernandez8324 it's the chord progressions, well, japanese musics itself are heavily inspired by western style jazz, especially american.
You can find lots of these kind of progressions in like games and animes, hell even if you try to listen to old japanese musics from the late 80's they have that "feel" you are talking about.
For me it's the melody that hits me, idk what that is but it's very familliar. Meguro made this so well!
And this is JUST a sound test.
This is really cool, but sounds kinda too..."chill" for nocturne. Like maybe this could go as an ending song to one of the reason endings.
Yeah it sounds more like a persona song to me, meguros arrangements in games like Nocturne and DDS, even the calmer ones still dont sound this upbeat. Only his persona songs do.
i mean its kinda usable when youre exploring the desert
@@wonder6835 I mean I recognize some leitmotifs from other Nocturne songs. Plus this is just Meguro's normal style.
Rescuro true, I’m amazed as a composer myself by how different the soundtracks sound between persona and mainline SMT.
@@bassoonplatoon3146 Yeah Meguro's done a ton of different styles. You should check out Strange Journey's soundtrack. I was surprised when I found out he did it considering it's also one of my favorite game OSTs

"For whatever reason, the original I uploaded was taken down for "Inappropriate Content" and I can't dispute the claim."
That's fair. It's sex for the ears.
In contrary to the others, I can picture this being a theme for like a shop, or a market for Demons or something. Like a 7/11 for demons, where this song plays as Lucifer/Demi Fiend shops for medicinal items and all that.
I swear this sounds like a city theme in p5 strikers, weird that they didn’t add it to nocturne
