thanks, I've been dealing with lack of pressure on my Maverick, was told by FX USA I needed to add more washers, up to 13. Going to resize and cascade down to 10 or 12. Give that a try.
Nice informative. I'm interested in the 1st regulator. Setting the regulator at 150, then dry fireing how to speed up the reset to 150 again which spring configuration is the quickest.
Great video! Teresa and I have mk2 s and mk3s .. we've installed your short cocking handle but need more for the m3s.. please keep your innovations and secrets coming!!! We've even put hot glue between the plenium and the grip for more comfort 😆 We've been addicted to your upgrades for the years now
Hi Master I hope you are doing great.! My question for you is why if I setup my impact mk2 regulator at 140 bar after 30 minutes o 1 hours it will be at 150 o so? Please can you help me with that? And keep it up you are the best so far thanks very. Billy
Great video Ernest! Could you tell or make video if number of spring washer's or configuration of them makes any difference for the regulator refresh rate?
That’s difficult to do in a video but the best thing you can do is have a consistent shot Two shot timing so you’re refresh rate is very consistent. Or time you’re shot to shut in three seconds or five seconds or 10 seconds you’ll see a graft of the extreme spread in that will determine the refresh rate.
Hi Ernest, the best. I am glad you are doing so much for us with all your videos. Please help me. I am desperate as I am stuck with my Impact MKII; since 7 days I can't use it. My problem is I can't reach 150Bars into my plenum, I installed the regulator 11washers, regular set up )()()()()() but even opening quite much the set screw I can not reach the 150Bars. Why? If I unscrew more the regulator set screw it vents and blow out all the air of the plenum. Can someone help me? Many thanks guys.
Thanks Ernest. Great info. I was told not to run the reg on an M3 past 180bar. Is that about the top a person should run it? I would like to hear it from the master...
Hi Frank, Manuel states 175 bars is the limit for warrantee, purpose, the hammer weight and standard spring maximum usage is around 160b- 170 bars beyond that it will not fully open the valve fully and your speed will be lower. You need a tungsten weight to overcome the higher rag pressure. lots of shooters with a modified impact with my kit used 190b to 210 bars with no issue but doesn’t mean you have to use that much rig pressure.
@@ernestrowe5061 just bought the Huma hammer weight set and high power spring. Hope it works for me, if not, then I'll check into the tungsten weight. A couple of people said that the tungsten might be too much weight, and I would loose some tunability with it.
I just got a rear reg rebuild kit from Utah Air where I bought my rifle. the stack they sent me has 13 washers. Does that sound right? I haven't taken my reg out to see what is in there now.
The technical videos are pure gold! Anyone can make a hunting vid. but for the rest of us, show how to get these impacts to shoot precise. suggestion. make a video of an impact from the box to sub-MOA precision tuned & efficient with the aftermarket parts like pin probe kit, tungsten hammer weight, barrel tuner, spring/ball combinations, polishing Etc. Show us the complete setup and how to get there and you'll have a video that will constantly collect views.
Well, it’s totally impossible to get that in one video, but short videos till you get sub MOA has already begun will try to get one or two videos a week in advance tuning
You should machine larger than a 72cc plenums and test the power potential and efficiency of them. Fx has been increasing the plenum size over the generations for a reason. Maybe they haven't gotten it quite there yet.
Hi. Here's an idea for your new Video. Can you please build Sub 12 Impact from one that was messed with. I bought second hand MK2 that is completely out of spec and I don't know where to start. Please include Hammer weight, Bellevue washers thickness and number, springs wire diameters. Sorry but I need help. Regards.
I dont own an fx airgun but i have a question to make if you are able to answer me. I have a 15-20 bar difference on my regulator as the pressure of the tank drops for example at 230 my reg show 135-140 and as i go down like 190-180 bar the reg drops at about 120-125 bar. From your experience what do you think is the problem and what the possible fix? Thanks a lot in advance!
great vid ... would like to see one on the mk2 (stock equipment config) ( on how to get it higher) ... i could not get it above 145 bar without it starting to leak
I checked the thickness of my washers the thickest one was .60mm then the rest were 47 then 36 freaking skinny ass washer but they work I have my reg at 170 bar
@@ernestrowe5061 I have a problem Ernest my first reg is leaking its a very slow leak atmosphere hole I changed 0ring on adjustment screw but I think its coming from the inside one the 4×1.5 or the other one that's on the piston 0ring that goes in the back its also a 4×1.5 either one of those three I tried the I have a caption 0ring 2×1 ,4×1.5 but I can tell the 0rings imo from caption 0ring are shit very flimsy easy to put on not like the original FX ones so I know it's those all rings that are leaking just had a chat with fxusa and they're going to send me out some o rings I guess the weather will do that to 0rings from very hot outside to cold weather will have an effect on all rings just my opinion
At 210bar would the hammer still open the valve constantly I’d like to see you shooting it and see the speeds as the South African boys don’t recommend it over 180bar and there pretty good on tuning there impacts

great job erd! no one explores the working of an air rifle like you do. never stop asking “why”!
Something I've always wanted to know, but did not want to blow the reg up. Another great video. More please.
Sure thing, will cover all aspect of repair and tuning
I don’t think you will blow up the rag maybe an O-ring or two the Plenum is rated at 300 bars so it’s safe there. Thanks.
I have set my Impact regulator at 220 bar.

Nice, I was wondering how much of a difference it would make to change up the washer stack.
Do you already demonstrate what happen when you screw clockwise a regulator under pressure in a other video?
Awesome video with a clinically great detailes and thanks for shared it with us👌👌

Where can I buy a reg removal tool like you use in your videos?
I don’t make those anymore but newman at 910airguntuningandrepairsllc.com
Make a high quality aluminum rag piston puller

Is it necessary to replace both the front and rear reg pistons to the new brass ones to achieve these higher pressures?
This was such a great detailed video. Good testing and results shown without BS. Any idea what is the maximum pressure the plenum is rated for?
curious about the max pressure myself.
i think it is rated to at least the bottle pressure of 310bar
@@ChrisHarris4U That would be my guess as well, but would be nice to get proper info about it
The Plenum is rated as much as the carbon fiber bottle 😊

Put a heavy weight tungsten hammer in it and you will be fine
Yes, to overcome 180 bars and above, you need a heavy tungsten weight and a custom spring. And yes, I know Matt Hein, and Ralph they are my coworkers.
