- In this video I am teaching you how to tune your FX Impact M3 down to the smallest detail.
I am also giving you an insight into the harmonics of your gun and what you can do to change them to make your gun more accurate.
The tuning segment of the video is also featured in my previous video about Spread and Velocity, but the explaination about power wheel vs quick tune system is more detailed in this video.

I love how you have a sheltered shooting area. I've been thinking I need the same for where I live.
Love your videos very educational keep it up Peter
Another great and informative vid! 👍👏
Very nice video, thank you for that. I’m going to use your advices when continuing tuning my M3. Best regards from Sweden.
You are welcome 🙂
I have one more tuning video on my channel where I tune a bit different. You can watch it for inspiration 🙂

Loving this Chanel, hello from Australia
Thanks buddy 🤗
Hi friend very good video, it shows the influence that the settings have on performance, you adjust really well 👍
Thank you buddy 🙂
You're not late budy thank you so much for the video
Wow fantastic vids as always👍
Thanks Andy 🙂
fantastic video - a lot of dedication & experience to put all those insights & tests together - excellent ! One thing I'd like to share is that I don't follow the instructions with the harmonic barrel tuner weight. According to instructions you are supposed to screw the weight out as far as possible (away from the butt) and then gradually screw in to find the best grouping. Starting with the weight as far out as possible must (technically) put the barrel under the most strain. So I start with screwing it in as far as possible closest to the butt, and then gradually screw it out to find the best grouping. Not sure if it makes any difference at all, but it's a few cm of travel between starting as far out as possible or starting as close in as possible. Could be that I'm thinking about things too much 🤔😀Keep the videos coming !
Hi Nick and thanks for your comment 🙂
I dont think that it makes a big difference if you start in one end or the other. While testing the barrel tuner I saw that there was several positions where the groupings was comming together. So I dont think that it does too much of a difference if you choose one or the other.
Im actually using the tuner right now and it is performing well. Equaled my best group at 100 m in the first session 😃
Great video, thanks!
Thanks man 🙂
Check out the other tuning video I have done too 😎
well explained, thank you and regards from Austria
Thank you very much 🙂
Best regards and a nice weekend 😎
Awesome video, was looking for info on how to tune the valve on my new impact. First pcp i own with a valve adjuster. 👍
Thanks buddy 🙂
And in a week I will post a new video with a different way of tuning the M3. Actually involving the front valve even more 🙂
very good video..love your work
Thanks mate I really appreciate your support 🤗
Thank you 🙏
Speed is important. But accuracy is everything!
Amen!! 🤗
Hi mate, great video as always 👌🏻one thing to consider about carbon fiber, and it's the difference between thermal expansion rate between carbon fiber and metals, specially steel, cf has very low thermal expansion rate and steel has higher rate, this could cause accuracy issues in higher or lower temperatures
You are so right 🙂 I think that many dont know this!
That also a good reason not to glue the carbon liner sleeve to the liner ☝️🙂
Awesome video man thanks for the info now that I think about it I think I have my fx m3 22 cal 700mm the reg may be to high might have to turn it down a bit thanks again
Thanks Chris 🙂
I hope that it will help you with better accuracy 😎
Have a nice weekend 🌞
I have not shot the 15gr NAS for a while, but on Wednesday i ended up on 1080 FPS for the 13 gr KO slugs.
AND ! i just remembered, i need to clean and lube the Maverick for tomorrow.
1080 might be a bit over the top 😂😂
@@VikingAirgunner It was going pretty well, at slower speeds ( reg pressure lower ) and less hammer i just was not able to get a fairly flat shot string.
I think i will put in a new Huma regulator over the winter, even when i get close i still have that shot every 10 - 12 shots that just are 10 - 15 FPS slower.
Just got done and OMG lubing trigger made something go haywire CUZ i now have a 1 stage trigger.
Will have to look at that tomorrow though, dont want the chance major air release at this time of the day in the apartment.
Great videos. Can I suggest an additional microphone for increased volume options for the listener. Keep up the great informational videos.
Thanks buddy 🙂
And thanks for your input. I have been working on the sound using different microphones so hopefully my sound quality and the volume issue will get better 😃
I'd like to see the results in accuracy with that tutorial. Nice video.
Thanks 🙂
If you go to the FB group FX 177 Owners you can see a post I made a few days ago on my latest group - actually my best group ever 😃 Pretty proud here 😂
Ohh sorry it was actually with the 13 gr ZAN and not the 15 gr NSA that I tuned the gun for in this video!
Nice setup on the M3. I'm gonna get this M3 600 mm this Christmas. Can you put the link where you get your setup items, for example, the Bipod, scope and etc...just subscribe. Good videos Sir👍
Welcome to my channel mate 🙂
Usually I do my shopping at Krale in Holland. The gun I got from Arms Gallery in Copenhagen 🙂
Very nice 👌 👍
Thanks buddy 🙂
So hey I was attempting to tune my m3 yesterday and I went to far with the micro adjuster “barrel roller” I went past 5 and the power wheel “macro adjuster” was at 16 so when I cocked the lever it didn’t feel right it went all the way back without that spring tension you normally feel but it also didn’t feel like it feels went you’ve already cocked the lever it’s hard to explain but anywho.. then I tryed to put it forward and it wouldn’t go so I backed off the micro adjuster “barrel roller” and it worked fine after that I don’t think I damaged anything but man I thought I did I got so scared do you know what I’m talking about ? Also have you ever done that before ? I just wanna assure myself the gun is fine thank you .
I never tried to go so far up, so I didnt experience this myself. But when you have released it again and the gun feels normal, I would not be nervous for the condition of the gun 🙂
Regarding new pellets or slugs and or new calibers its advised to set hammer and spring to 8 as a starting point. :) I myself shoot .177 h&n match exacts at 886 fps, the gun is so accurate its ALWAYS me if its not hole in hole.
Thanks for sharing your experience 🙂
I never shoot pellets so very nice to know that it can be accurate 👍👍
@@VikingAirgunner fun that its the gUy and not the gun every shot i miss. Hehe
Hey Viking Airgunner do you use scope stickers ? I mean I don’t see them on your top turret so maybe not but man I’m looking for a good video on how to use strelok pro the “ballistics calculator app” I mean there are videos out there but I don’t think any of them are that good in explaining it my problem is zeroing my scope and if I’m even doing that right because the app takes your zero into account and I feel like does it even matter what angle you zero at you know shooting from a bench that’s not at the same level as your target does that matter what about human errors like what if I’m not getting a consistent group because the recoil on my gun is atrocious when zeroing idk do you see what I’m saying anyways thanks for this video it was extremely informative and it will now be my go to for tuning my m3 when I get around to that thanks 😊
Hey 🙂
Thank you so much for your comment. It is comments like yours that makes me wanna do these videos.
About the scope stickers I never used them. Just never felt that I needed them. Maybe bcs Im always changing ammo and barrels 😃
When I was looking for info about Strelock Pro I saw a video by Meathead Marksman and it got me pointed in the right direction. Apart from that I dont know. Guess that I could make a video about it but I like to have a certain knowledge about the themes that I adress and here I feel pretty bad at it 😂 I can get it set up, but thats it 😃
Have a great weekend 🙂😎
@@VikingAirgunner I like meatheads videos haha thanks yeah no I hear you if your constantly changing ammo those stickers become useless haha well hey thanks I’ll be looking forward to your videos no PRESSURE!! 😂

@@VikingAirgunner oh wow hey thanks can’t wait should be interesting 🤓🤐
What chronograph are you using? Getting my m3 this Friday and super intimidated after watching this lol😂 I will be watching more of your videos see if I can master this. Great video
Uhh you are up for some great experiences 😃
When following my RUclips channel remember that some videos are new and some are older, so experiences were different two years ago than they are today 🤓☝️
The chronograph in the video is the FX Pocket Chronograph V1. They have released a V2 but the old one is better. So if you can get the old one you are good 😎
Did a review of the new one but it stopped working imideately after I finished filming 😳
@@VikingAirgunner Wow so glad you replied!!! I just texted my buddy who is very experienced in air guns and he is coming over this weekend to help me tune this- I appreciate your fast response and appreciate your videos. I am big into firearms and just recently got into airguns which I fell in love with right away, so much that I love air guns more haha.
Hej Peter.
Hi, Good video, Thanks.
How does the Titan compare to Helix, Thinking of an upgrade.
Thanks,
Alan ,uk
Hi Alan
I think that it has better calrity and tracking. Helix is not a bad scope - I have it on my Wildcat. But Titan is just a different class. I would take it any day of the week.
Bigger and heavier, yes... But if thats not a problem, you should go for it 🙂
Thanks for reply, Enjoy your videos.@@VikingAirgunner
@@alanbray3448 Thanks Alan 👍👍
Muy ,muy bueno
Hi Peter, I was wondering does your gun have a wide shot string before it gets in tuned? My maverick .22 jump up and down a good bit so sometimes I'm confused if it's maxed out at that reg settings or not to adjust for tuning correctly.
Usually it helps with the spread, when you follow the instruktions in the video.
You will know when you are maxed out if the velocity does not increase further when you turn up the hammer.
If your velocity jumps too much it might be that your reg needs new orings and lube.
@@VikingAirgunner thank you so much for the quick response! I will try again and see
What a good video, I have a question. I recently had an M3 and I am setting it up. It is true that when the M3 is well set up you should hear it clearly when the plenum fills with air or is it a myth? I ask you why I don't hear it and to be clear that I have to keep insisting on searching for those sounds or maybe it's not necessary.
Hi Ronald
I havent thought about that in a long time, so I had to take the M3 out and test. I remember having heard the plenum filling, but today I didnt hear anything.
I would say - dont pay too much attention to it. Aslong as your reg is returning to the same setting fast, you are ok.
If you hear the plenum filling and the sound takes much more than 5-6 sec, you might wanna service your reg with inspection of the o-rings and some fresh lube. Maybe give the springs a light polish 🙂
Thank you very much for your advice
You cannot do this on the Uk sub 12 guns is that correct - by getting the fps over 900 would that increase the foot pounds over (uk 12 legal limit) ?
That is correct. A 13 gr slug at 980 fps produces 28 ft/lbs. At 900 fps it is just over 23 ft/lbs.
Im using an app Bullet Energy Calculator to calculate.
Is this .22 rifle and what snugs are u using are they Jsb knockout ?
In this video I am using the 15 gr NSA (info at 1:10 in the video) And it is a 177 🙂
Spot on mate
The right setting for fx impact m3 cal 177 with 12.5 grain nsa slug pellets.thanks you.
Valve ..?
Reg 1 ..?
Reg 2 ..?
Macro ..?
Micro ..?
Start with the reg at 100 bar and then use the method from the video 🙂

Hi Peter I'm your fan, I have a request to add Polish language to the translator. Greetings from Poland.
Hi Aneta
Thanks for following my channel 🙂
The translator function is provided from RUclips and can only be used in the language spoken, so I cant really do much about it - but it would be a nice feature 🙂
Best regards and have a nice weekend

I don't know why everyone is so caught up on velocity. Velocity is only helpful for one thing, setting up a DOPE chart for different distances. I shot long distance with a 50CALBMG and. 338 lapua. I never chrono either of these when I was working up their loads. With my air guns I do pretty much the same thing. Start with a baseline. Pick a pellet you want to shoot. Start shooting groups and make small adjustments as you go, keeping track of all the adjustments you make. When you get it to group that you like, write down your settings. Do the same for any other pellets you want to shoot. If the groups are acceptable to you, what does velocity matter? My gun shoots MOA and 1/2 MOA at 50y.
I have no idea how fast they are going.
Just something to think about.....
Hey Chris
That is also a way to do it and I bet that it works really well, but if you are shooting a different distances many are using ballistic calculators. And they work really well if you know your velocity 😉
- just a little something to consider 😃
@@VikingAirgunner very true, that's what I said. I have long range DOPE charts for both my center fire rifles.
@@chriscrawford2197 Im happy for you but I think that I will stick to the measuring of velocity and the use of Strelock 😉
@@VikingAirgunner I think we have a misunderstanding here. After I get any of my guns grouping acceptable, I will then chrono them to get their velocity to use in Strelock Pro. Then make a DOPE chart to use in the field.
@@chriscrawford2197 That makes sense 😃
Do one on the m3 .357 caliber
The method is exactly the same.
How much pressure gap you keep between both the regulators ?
Around 30 bar.
@@VikingAirgunner and how much pressure do you keep in the 1st regulator ?
@@mayoite1975 it depends on the slugs I wanna shoot.
When your closing the valve or making any adjustments, remember it’s a spring and will take time to settle .
Always best to take a good few shots about 5 to allow things to settle . Otherwise you can be chasing your tale
