Sheldon going to be unemployed in a few days. The Leaf's fans whimper, "It's not fair" is usually heard just before the annual Leafs Lament, "There's always next year."
We had enough pps to win this game. Wouldnt mind seeing Gio up to calm the d core down. Bruins are not overly fast. Although, van reems looked like a horse tonight.
Please take Lilegren out and put Giordano in. The Leafs had 5 power plays and did nothing. Lilegren does nothing to enhance the power play. The only reason he's out there is because he is a right. A veteran presence like Giordano would be welcomed.
Listen to this guy talk about 63. Marchand gets away with stuff? He's the most suspended player in league history in terms of individual suspensions. That should make him the most closely watched player by the refs. Nothing about the Leafs failing to make the most of their FIVE power play chances with those tremendous offensive players? Or Captain Cupcake's high stick on Charlie McAvoy? Why would he say anything about that? The refs missed it, too. This series will be down to a battle of special teams. Tonight, the B's bettered Toronto's. Let that keep going.
yea but the question was about Marchand specificly not about powerplays or whatnot. it's about how you can contain Marchand. the past doesn't matter. so he might be the most suspended player but he is also one of the most none called as well. so let's say Marchand on average get 1 penalty called on him per game but 2 or 3 of them are missed calls. so now 82 games. 82 penalties called on him and 164 to 200 plus missed calls against him per year. it's honestly not hard for that to happen, especially in playoff games for make up call purposes. if you believe they would watch him closely then why miss the call on the bertuzzi Marchand "fight" in the middle. that's distracting to every player. the play should have been blown dead. or something should have happened. reminded me of that 4 on 4 with Carolina fight and 2 players continued to play, which led to a goal but yet the whole line was fighting.
@@kohl4life Good points all. Thankfully, Marchand has matured since his dumb licking days. I think Keefe might be trying the Berube strategy of calling out the officiating specifically regarding Marchand who had a great game last night and is suggesting the refs somehow have more control over whatever he believes 63 is getting away with. In 2019, Berube wondered how his club went from the least penalized to having a bunch of them in that final. Strange but the calls against them dropped against the Bruins that series.Keefe might be trying the same thing but with regards to keeping Marchand on a short leash.
That was a great take by Sheldon, sly actually poking at the refs there.. were there calls missed both sides.. HELL YES! But how many of those “missed calls” for the bruins turned directly into a goal? Not one.. if you look closely Marchand takes Bert down, 2 times, takes him right off his position and defensive assignment on his wing, skates down bar in-goal for the Bs (fine it is what it is) Games tied at one a lot of momentum gets sucked out of the game and all leans towards Boston, missed calls like that, that turn into goals are huge momentum swings, then they score the PP goal clean nice goal.. we get a chance, and if the whole world didn’t see Lindholm cover that puck with his hand and shove it to swayman I know the refs did they were right there (penalty shot should have been called) we tie the game.. we get another chance Domi goes hard to the net obvious hook to the hands no goal but bang bang play whatever, the Bs go down the ice Marchand scores to make it 3-2 game over.. missed calls that lead to goals are terrible..
@@craigmcbennett7409 It’s very easy to just put a pointless comment because you have actually little to zero input at all, prolly couldn’t handle to read the paragraph with your tik tok brain..
@@Kevin-jl5lw , I read the whole paragraph and it was a bunch of baseless whining. MANY missed calls that could have given the Bruins more time on the power play. There have been a ton of missed calls in this series already. Domi commits a penalty every time he's on the ice. Few are called. It comes down to 5 Leaf power plays, zero goals. I hope Keefe's whining comes back to haunt him in Game 4.
Maybe, as an NHL coach you don't put your 4th line on with 5 mins left in the game, oh wait, lets rest my 70 goal scorer for the next game. PAL! you should have just thrown all your money makers on for the last 5 mins. Very poor coaching. Great game Bruins.
Ever since after the Harold Ballard days the Leafs got to the courses earlier than any team, particularly because of the first two Russian players they signed, Summeroff and Teeoff !
The issue that Boston fans are in denial of, is this: professional hockey is determined by understanding the standards set out by the officials in the first few minutes of a game and then implementing your game around what is expected to be a penalty or not. The issue with this matchup every time, is that the Leafs get called out for being "soft" but when they play hard they get sent to the box for weaker infractions than Boston employs the entire game. There is NO STANDARD of play. Boston gets away with a blatant trip, so Toronto thinks "ok I guess we're allowing sticks to go" and then they get called. The officiating is the problem, denying that is simply being blinded by your bias.
Oh right , please yell this out to all the fools that will watch the last leafs game of the year outside. But man your team is great in the ever important regular season. Maybe get a banner for that.
How about the Leafs went 0-5 on the PP, can’t blame the refs there. The only call or none call that was pure BS was the one on JT with minutes left in a 3-2 playoff game, HOW DO YOU CALL THAT?
the league turns the blind eye when it comes to boston. so many missed calls this game. like just too many. its entertainment thats run by an organization thats looking to profit and however way to can get that its their call. who is going to hold nhl accountable...nobody. its why a canadian team hasnt won in over 30 years and probably never will.
Let's see, Noel Acciari being blatantly tripped in game five of the '19 Final leading directly to a goal comes to mind. Maybe the most egregious missed call in Finals history. But keep on thinking the Bruins get all the calls.
What a load of crap. How about you concentrate on the 0 and 5 your special teams pulled off on the power play and the Bruins 2/3 . Besides you guys have Domi ding the same shit Merch. Whatever.
This answer Keefe gives, sounds like a coach who doesn't have a clue. The Leafs are a good enough team, but, Keefe is not a NHL caliber coach, plain and simple.the 🏒🏒🏒
Marchand has been livin' rent free in the Loafs heads for YEARS.
Long may it last.
Go BRUINS.
It's the Leafs you half wit
Panthers live rent free in bruins heads. Go cats
Oh yeah that must’ve been real tough to play through, you got five power plays and couldn’t bury on any one pf them, real tough
Hey Keene, what about your 1 goal in 15 pp with a 45 million roster on its unit? Is that an art?
Winning coach outlook: "We don't concern ourselves with #63 ...we play Toronto hockey 🏒 period ...let other team play, however they want" 😊
