Back in the day .. I was in boy-singing group in wash.dc I lead sometimes and I tryed my best to sound like Paul Williams .by birth god gave me this beautiful singing voice …rest in peace Paul Williams..I think of you all the time
My three favorite temptations. The meet the temptations album with Paul and eddie leading was great, the last album david did with the temptations was great. I have both albums. These three guys was the temptations.
Not one former member of the Classic 5 talked bad while living of one another. Might said management wasn't looking out for them. Then in the beginning most was Gordy's families' folks.
He was a true friend to those he loved and remained a friend to both until their untimely deaths. Eddie Kendricks always the best man of the Classic 5. RIH Mr. Kendricks, from a Temps fan since 1963! 🙏❤
Sorry, but Eddie Kendricks is my Forever Temptation. His friendship, love and loyalty that he felt for his true friends puts Eddie in a totally different category as a Tall, Tan, Temping Temptations. ❤❤❤
Ashley 0 seconds ago Did Paul say “if you feel like you wanna screw?” And then a lady in the crowd going crazy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Lmao that’s why he is my favorite Temptation. I bet he was so funny to be around. And the way he sung just my imagination 😍😍😍😍
This is such a special video. All the what ifs it spawns. So glad it was captured and still exists. Did Paul’s solo album fall through after his death? Or did it fall through before he died?
Paul was actually in the middle of recording it when he passed away. He had three songs recorded and was set to record the rest around the time he passed. And I know what you mean by all the what-ifs. Paul would have had an amazing solo career and much more
Don’t mean to sound negative, but Paul sounds a bit drunk in this recording. I don’t know how long this recording was prior to his death.Anyone who has extensively research Paul life story knows he was dealing with many mental (depression) and physical/health Challenges (sickle cell) by which he succumbed to by taking his own life.RIP Mr.Paul Williams
@@tiyahisrael , summer of 1972 is what it says above and other places I have seen, so about a year before his death. He sounds different than on his numerous leads as a Temptation but these are not songs he led, one being an Issac Hayes song, the other being Eddie's (not saying you don't know that). I can understand his words so well and in places he is very strong, so I don't hear him as sounding a bit.. but not being there, certainly don't know. It took a few listens before I really started to like him on these songs, but then Paul's voice is my favorite. I have researched extensively as much as I can find on Paul. I understand this is your opinion, just replying.
I think he would have played smaller venues and theaters. His music probably wouldn't have been as high impact to where he'd need choreography. Just him and a microphone. Something where he'd sing and interact with an audience.
@@paul_williams_fans He probably would’ve also been invited on the reunion tour. By the time of tour there was only 2 former temptations who weren’t invited. Damon Harris who was fired in 75 and had already left the industry by that point and Louis Price who was actually obligated to one of the many Drifters groups. They would’ve had room for Paul!
He had Sickle cell too, that series doesn't touch on what Paul was actually going through. While the alcohol didn't help for certain, he was already suffering due to the sickle cell

It’s so sad that all three talented men are dead and gone.RIP
In reality this was the first temptations review group

I agree!
This what Paul meant when he told Otis in the movie that he'll go get Eddie and David
True
Then we all saw “what happened” to him
Seems likely from evidence that Paul didn't commit suicide
Yess! Exactly what he was talking about. If only there was footage of the three of them after The Temps... this is as good as it gets!
Three of the Greatest showmen to ever grace the stage.
Amen to that!!
You are right 👍. Hold that note Ruffin as only you can.
I would use one of my 3 wishes to go back in time and see original Temptations live❤️
True friendship after the group.
Business, or not they appear to respect friendship.
Not one former member of the Classic 5 talked bad while living of one another. Might said management wasn't looking out for them. Then in the beginning most was Gordy's families' folks.
Ruffin and Kendrick on that harmony behind Williams singing Just My Imagination is beautiful.
I agree! The three of them were such magic
I bet someone has this film as a keepsake ❤
If so, I wish they'd share it. I bet it was such an amazing thing to see the three of them together again.
Paul Williams= Soul
Eddie Kendricks= Grace
David Ruffin= Unique
I heard Melvin and Otis say this on a show with whoopi Goldberg
@@ashley4034 exactly that's where I got it from
Yep that’s where I heard it too ❤️ they are missed so much
I finally understood what you meant cause I just seen that tv appearance.
Eddie would do anything for David and Paul. They trio epitomised the uniqueness of the Temptations.
He was a true friend to those he loved and remained a friend to both until their untimely deaths. Eddie Kendricks always the best man of the Classic 5. RIH Mr. Kendricks, from a Temps fan since 1963! 🙏❤
The real temptations right here.
Three of my favorite Temptations and David Ruffin my favorite singer of all times

That's exactly what he said 😂😂😂 He was known for being a jokester so it doesn't surprise me 😂
Man! Growing up in Detroit back in the day hearing such wonderful music and running into a artist was like running into a friend or family member
Happy heavenly late father's day too u Paul ur truely missed but ur voice lives on.

What a shame the video is lost
Just image if there was video footage of this show!
I wish there was! I can tell by listening to the audience's reaction and vibe that it was amazing! Sounds like Paul get the ladies riled up 😂😂😂
Rare

Is on video some where or is just adio?
@@RobinIgoe-uy9dq I’ve heard this on youtube a couple times, I don’t think the video exists/ ever existed
Is the full show posted anywhere?
Not that I'm aware of. I've only seen this bit of it. If I come across it, I'll definitely post it for you!
Paul, put a different interpretation on Just My Imagination that should been released.
Paul always had a way of making songs his own. That song is always known as an Eddie signature, but Paul just made it more soulful
I wish it was a video for this
What song is Paul singing
Paul starts with a cover of Isaac Hayes song "Do Your Thing" and then does "Just My Imagination"
@@paul_williams_fans thank you

I think had Paul lived he would’ve been an exclusive recording act. I don’t think he would’ve toured much or if at all due to his health.

No disrespect to Paul but Otis made the right call. He was too ill to preform and the alcohol just made it worse
