I used one years ago painting new boat trailers . Had a turbine in thegun the air wiuld spin it like a alternator in car it would put out a POSTIVE charge then you ground the trailer. It wraps around the metal itwould get paint in hrd to reach areas. Good for boat trailers help them not rust . If your going to make a video make sure you jnow how it works positive comes out of the gun
i used to do it industrially in enclosed booths with nothing but a dust mask, i would have the paint all over me in myscalp even on my groin even though i was wearing a white paint suit, 12 hours shifts vomiting in my own mouth and swallowing my own vomit
Correct me if I’m wrong but doest the electrode positively charge the paint and stick to the negative grounded part. Say North Pole and South Pole magnets
hello sir, i would like to know whether it is mandatory for the nozzle to be in vertical position relative to workpiece instead of being inclined during spraying process? And if so, what is the reason behind it?
Hello Sir , I am planning to do a project on electrostatic spray coating, and I have no idea about the temperature required to heat the sprayed coating so that it gets bonded rigidly to the parent material, so can you kindly share the info on this matter?
Thank you so much, I really appreciate all the information, I do have a question that I hope someone answers, Does this method somehow activates the paint to somehow bond stronger with the metal or just to save product, also what materials can this be applied too? Thanks
Yes, the point is to negatively charge the paint particles so that when they hit the surface of the material, the electrons in that material will be repelled deeper into the material resulting in electrostatic attraction between the material and the paint. This will work best with conductors such as metals, as their electrons can move more easily.
Are there any simpler systems or ones where the charge is created in the gun. Electrostatic only seems sensible if your setting up for a large paint run but would be completely inefficient for small projects. Also, it seams like allot of cleanup and lost material to clear the draw tubing, is that correct?
Chris electrostatic is ideal for fairly high volume painting or particular field painting where overspray is a big problem but you have to spray so its usually for manufacturing with a high volume of painting or for field painting like lockers in schools fences ect
@@PittsburghSprayEquipmentCoWorked on a high school locker project in oak cliff TX. What a complete nightmare to get the lockers cleaned of stickers and clear scotch tape.
The charge will go to the nearest ground that is aimed at which is the part you want to be grounded as a fail safe to prevent a charge building and causing a spark if your equipment is not grounded or loses its ground due to outlets without a ground or something similar
Great information! Good pace and well developed examples helped me to understand clearly. Thank you!
@Pittsburgh Spray Equipment
Great video. Grand content.
Very informative.
What a great video. Thank you for putting it on youtube.

very handy videos, helped me a lot thanks!
Excellent video. Very helpful and well demonstrated. Thanks

Hey thanks so much for the video. I was so nervous for my paint test tomorrow but I'm alot more confident now. Great job!

Do you happen to know who produces the electro static appliance/attachment? Could you may be name a supplier, any idea where this is made??
Thanks!
Hello sir, is it necessary to maintain vacuum during electrostatic coating process?

We use this gun and method to prime our parts, but the parts wont take the charge for some reason
i hope u can upload a video ! how to use or set up graco electrostatic xs4 pro or xp85 thanks.
siuuuú
Cool instructive vid
can we use this equipment for multiple colours of paint? like by washing the equipment with thinner first and then changing the colour?

What brand is your earth tester
in dis video plz tell me sir the name of product\machine which z used for grounding check i want dis product plz tell me sir
for urgent basis
I may have missed it but is a special type of paint required?
Where can I buy a electrostatic system ? Need information

I used to cut a hole in a latex glove to ground myself to my Gun.
if you're body is grounded then doesn't that mean that the positive charge wold collect on you?

What is REA?
Hello sir... could you die with an accident? Or will it just shock you... real question. Thank you
