  • Hello friends and fellow working mom warriors! I wasn't sure if I should actually post this video, but I share my life with you all and I wanted you to know how I've been feeling lately. There has been so much change in my life mostly because of the move, and I think it's finally caught up with me. I open up about my current struggles and how getting sick with the flu really put me in a bad place emotionally and physically. Thanks so much for being there for me, hearing me out, and supporting me. I can't express how grateful I am for this community! xo AF

As a nurse practitioner, I can tell you all these feelings you're having with your recent stressors are 100% normal. (See Holmes and Rahe stress scale). Moves of all kinds are extremely stressful and hard on our health and bodies. It's especially challenging on those of us who have a preference for perfectionism. I love your realness and you are doing great! Keep going!! 💚💚

Do not feel stupid or apologize! You’ve had so much going on - moving, the holidays, work, kids, life, getting sick, hubs out of town etc… give yourself grace mama. ❤ And I know exactly what you’re referring to about the wedding day comparison. The new house might not actually feel like your home yet, but it will. Give it time. As soon as you’re feeling better you can start your normal routine again. You’ll start feeling like yourself and your house will become your HOME ❤. It’s good to cry and let it out. We’re here for you! 😊

Crying and letting things out is so healthy and a release and I'm so glad you let us into your emotions, they're so relatable and normal, sometimes that's what our bodies need and the mind follows and it's important to remember that the way you feel in that moment is temporary and you'll feel yourself again soon ❤❤❤

I feel like with all the holidays, moving, kids, adjusting, birthdays coming up. It’s all been overwhelming. Now that you are just settling in and having time to sit and think about all the hectic things you’ve been through it’s hitting you all at once. I honestly thank you for sharing..I struggle with mental health sometimes and your videos are the most relatable. You should take a self care day, slow down, and just think about all you’ve accomplished thus far. ❤❤

Thank you for being so real. Watching this video had me tears and has helped me so much especially not feel so alone. I recently was sick for about 2 weeks and still feel like I'm trying to pick up the pieces and find a routine again. I too have felt like a bad mum. It feels like it's just been one thing after another to deal with and I'm just trying to take it one day at time. I'm praying for you and your family, hoping things get better soon. ❤

I just want to give you a hug. You are wonderful, Amanda and so, so LOVED. You are just having a "season". Thank you for being so vulnerable with your emotions. My husband and I recently lost our baby via surrogacy. It was such a hype leading up to it all for it to be a very hard and emotional let down. I was in a funk for about 2 months. Got really sick. Went to the dr and had bloodwork, but all came back normal, but I felt something was "off". Your emotions strongly affect your physical health and that's what happened to me. Reserve some time just to cry - it makes you feel so much better (sometimes I will go into my closet and cry on the floor and then come back out and get back to it) and remember to give yourself GRACE on those days you aren't "yourself". I have also found that little children love to care for their moms, so talk with your babies about some of these emotions and ask them if they have any emotions they want to share with you. I do this with my daughter and it's such a special time. LOVE and TIGHT HUGS from Anna, Texas 💗

I’m so sorry that you went through all of that 😢 that’s such sweet advice about talking to my kids about the emotions - I never thought to do that but can definitely tell that they are sensitive. My son would constantly bring me water and ask if I was feeling happier. Thanks so much for being there for me ♥️🥹

Dear Amanda, I am sending to you a lot of positive energy. Moving, with the amount of stress is comparable with experiencing loss of someone who you loved whole life. It will fade away gradually. You put so much energy in rising your kids, working, home and of course your videos. Every single word you shared is make so much sense to me. I can understand that. Don't feel bad for sharing this. This is real life whichi is hard sometimes even if your essential needs satisfied. Thank you for sharing, wish you and kids fast recovery.

Sending you a virtual hug, Amanda! So much falls to mommas and when we are sick sometimes it feels like our lives are crumbling. You are so strong and crying is not a sign of weakness, but a testament to your resilience. It's okay to have moments of vulnerability; they remind us that we're human and that it's okay to ask for help. Remember, taking care of yourself is not just important, it's necessary. So take a moment, breathe, and know that you're not alone. This community is here for you, cheering you on and sending love your way. Keep shining, Amanda, your strength is inspiring.

My daughter and I currently have that flu/virus/sickness that you guys had and it is no joke! I’ve felt the same way.. like a lazy failure for not getting my normal stuff done. Just give yourself grace as you get back in a routine.. think progress over perfection because it is SO hard to got from 0-100 again but small steps to get there(like habit stacking) will help so much! Prayers for health and healing over you and your family!

We appreciate you sharing your feelings with us. I feel that moving from one place of residence to another during the holidays, especially Christmas, is A LOT! It takes time and sense of enjoyment away from enjoying the holidays. All the energy went towards to the move of your beautiful new home! It is okay to feel this way ❤ Do not feel silly when you are doing something that you enjoy, such as editing your RUclips videos! We have to do the things we love, we have one life to live! Do what makes you happy 😊 I would like to suggest that this year and moving forward that you practice slow-living and mindfulness to help ease this fast-paced world we live in. I have been doing that and I feel life is simpler and slower. You are inspirational in your routines, exercising, cleaning, working, and taking care of your family 😊

We moved just 5 miles down the road and I felt the same way. You don’t have time to feel the big feelings in the moment because there is so much going on. Plus now you have to rethink things you didn’t think about before (daycare situations, schools, etc). Don’t be sorry!! Feel your feelings and know it’s normal. It will all work out and still be wonderful. Have a great week! ❤

I can definitely understand how you are feeling. We still live in our first home we bought.. also was a new build 15 years ago when we bought and I feel like I would feel the same way you feel if we were to ever move from here. We have so many memories in this home and we've renovated and redecorated so much in here over time that I think I would be so sad to leave. Just take your time and adjust ... even if you have to take time off vlogging for a while, do what you have to do to help with the adjustment. Moving on top of being sick and you had gone away on a trip just before... it is exciting but it is also a lot for one to handle. I think over time you will start to feel better. I feel like leaving one's first purchased home is hard. I hope you start to feel like yourself again soon, Amanda. You are such a strong and amazing person ... I have no doubt that you will! Sending prayers to you and the family! ❤❤🙏🏽🙏🏽

❤❤Amanda I just love how open you are. I can definitely relate to you and what you have gone through. I got really sick last year and I missed a whole month of work. It was the hardest time of my life and life kept happening at the same time. To cope with moments like that I normally eat a lot and binge watch shows at night to just clear my head however I have learned the value of speaking out my feeling to myself and record on my phone. It helps me process what is happening and how I feel. I’m like you and not a big fan of talking to my friends like I use to about my problems. A good cry like you said is helpful. Also journaling is a great method too. It’s okay as we are only human. Big hugs for you. Keep on pushing. You are appreciated ❤

It sounds like you just need more time for yourself. I know that’s tricky with little ones and other obligations life throws at us. Sometimes it is okay, if you don't feel like having it all together. You are human. Keep the faith and keep moving forward doing the things that you love and enjoy. It will get better. As much as you love to move into your dream home, you have been through alot of stresses to get there, and its hard on our bodies simply just hard. Never feel stupid about your feelings, its really good to open up we are all human. Its healthy for you to let it all out. I want you remember that women tend to go through much more in life than a man, alot of the responsibilities tend to fall in our laps. You are such a beautiful person you will get through this.

Just know that you are exactly where you need to be and you will be where you want to be. It is so hard to hear that but just keeping trusting the process. Rest when you need to, cry when you need to, and it will most definitely work out. This is therapeutic.

I completely understand how you feel. we are still in our first home and will buy our next one in the next few years, but I already know that it will be such a bittersweet feeling leaving our first home. Our oldest was only a few months old when we moved in and we brought our 2nd home in that house. we grew our careers and made so many memories. I get emotional thinking about it, but I have to keep telling myself that when the time comes I will need to thank the house for serving its purpose and be thankful for the ability to move to the next chapter. you got this!

Working mom here 🙋‍♀️ and I love your videos! Last year, we moved as well, and our story is very similar… moved out of our first house (new build too) and into a bigger one. I grieved the former house, which I did not expect, and even though the new house is “better” than the first, I still missed the old house and felt as if I was grieving it and that chapter it represented. Like you, I’m not a big crier, but I cried a lot after our move, and the emotional release really helped. Cry as often as you feel you need to. Trust me it helps you move on and gives you more strength when you’re done. Also, I’ve had to realize that settling into a new house and establishing a new routine takes time - a lot longer than you expect - and I’ve had to learn to be ok with that and trust that a routine will happen. You will get back into your routine, and it will be stronger than ever. You will also have increased gratitude for your routine, and you’ll be better able to protect it from derailing again. At least that’s what happened for me now that we’re about 9 months out from the move. (I was also 6 weeks postpartum with my second when we moved, so it took me awhile to get a routine back. I’m sure it’ll be much quicker than that for you😊) keep your head up girl. You are doing an amazing job.

I have been sick for about a month now. It started the day after Christmas, and I have had this same moment that you're having now. You are not alone my friend. I was so upset about ending the new year down and going into the new year down. I'm much better now, but I had to give myself some grace. I had taken my time and just focused on me. I did the minimum in every other area including work and focus on my wellbeing. When I started feeling better, I revisited my plans, goals, and created a new schedule. I do what I can and push what I can't to the next day. I feel better mentally while I'm not 100% just yet. It's okay to feel as you feel. You feel this way now, but it won't stay like this. You will get back there because there was so much going on. Focus on your wellbeing because if you're not your best, you can't give your loved ones your best. Trust me, these are things I had to tell myself. It's so hard for those of us who do ALOT. Sometimes, we need some attention and a moment. You will be fine because that's just you. Sending hugs and encouragement. 😍

Big comforting hugs to you mama. I was in your position recently - massive few months since December 2023, I think I was hit with the flu (worst week and a bit ever!) I had to take time off work, my school aged son was sick, my toddler was full of beans and luckily didn’t get sick, husband busy with work, mental health was sh*t, and sadly sometimes we just have to soldier on through it all and juggle everything. I didn’t feel myself either for a few weeks and felt defeated. Sometimes a good cry ( a mini mental breakdown I call it lol) really helps.

Aw Amanda. This is very relatable. I know exactly what you mean. Many times we just need to enjoy the process of the life we live in, and sometimes there is just no time to do that and life just seems to fly us by. Its almost like "adulting", most people including my self didn't spend enough time enjoying their youthful days and just cant wait to grow up, untill we grow up and start missing the past and what we could have done with our past.

Nobody talks about what an emotional adjustment it is to move!! It feels wonderful, exciting, but can also feel so weird and make you feel so out of place at the same time. It took me a full year to feel like my new home was actually HOME. And our first year in our new house was the sickest we’ve ever been - and I know it was the stress of moving!! Even though was a good thing! Sounds like you had influenza A. Take care of you, allow yourself to feel all the feels, and take some vitamins. 😊 love your vlogs!

I see you and I hear you. I don’t think there’s a woman out there who hasn’t gone through everything you’re experiencing. The feelings you share are all 100% validated.
I appreciate your vulnerability. The good thing is you recognize and you’re talking about it.
Take care of yourself. You’re so loved.

Hi Amanda, new subscriber. Thanks for sharing your daily vlogs. I’m a mother of 5 kids (ages 14, 11, 5, 3, and 1) working Full time at home, and started Nursing school full time remotely too. I recently started a vlog channel and love finding other women similar to me to inspire me. Thanks for being one of those women. Stay strong, emotions and letting them out is healthy. Never apologize for it.

All your feelings are normal! You had the new home build, old home sale, holidays, traveling, packing, moving, working, getting settled, and now trying to figure out next steps as far as the kids school and the new neighborhood and your adrenaline is finally coming down and you have time to process all that has happened. Allow those tears to flow, take deep breaths and take care of you. You all accomplished a lot within a few short months. When you’re a goal oriented person and you finally accomplish your goals it feels WEIRD. But this is a good feeling because you all are about to create so many more amazing memories in your new home. You’ll start to create new goals and new dreams and continue being the amazing woman, mom and wife that you are ❤ ((HUGS))

I totally get this feeling! It happened to me when we bought a new car. We had a vehicle that we wanted to sell so we can upgrade to a new car. During the process we’re really okay letting go of it. But when we finally sold it and bought the new car, I just found myself crying because I am missing that old vehicle. It was our first, we had lots of memories with it and it kept us safe in literally every ride! Your feelings is valid! 💕

Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that two things are true, you are extremely grateful for the new home and you also are grieving the losing of the old home/ memories and that is ok. Both are true. Give yourself the space and grace to experience both the joy and sadness because both experiences are real. You got this!
