It is beautiful to see people sitting together chatting without masks. It almost makes me want to cry. I have not been to a restaurant in a year or really seen my friends in a real setting either. This looked so lovely.
Seeing comments like this makes me very greatful that I am able to go to restaurants, no wearing of masks in public, visiting friends and family etc. We are all in crazy times.

This is one of my favorite channels now. Cecilia is interesting to watch and a great narrator. The editing and music are spot on. The cabin is awesome. Its amazing how all the buildings there in Longyearbyen are very plain and commercial looking but when you walk in the door they are beautiful inside. I love the décor and the obsession with string lights. I just love it. Thank You from The United States!

I also love when the captions write random English words when she is speaking a bit of quick Swedish or (maybe Norwegian). Cecilia, i am stunned over and over by the contrast between how rough the outdoors is and the indoors of wherever you go. outside looks like it would be a bunch of people huddeled next to whatever heat they could find, chewing on whale blubber, then you go indoors and everything is emaculate and modern. i love this place.... now that you have shown me my hotel option, its on my bucket list.

I was just wondering, in a previous video you had vlogged a shopping trip and you showed us a card you have to use when buying alcohol because there is a limit to how much you can get. Is it the same for bars and restaurants? Do they limit how much you are allowed to order?

I live in California and we complain when the temperature occasionally drops to freezing in the winter. I cant imagine the cold and darkness in your area. Keep up the good work.
Looking at the outside views reminds me of an airport runway strip. That hotel is VERY NICE. A lot of people back home for New Years book a hotel room as the hotels put on a New Years special. So nice so safe (keeps drunks off the roads)
Yea, Funken. We stayed there for 4 nights in June 2019, really nice. The breakfast in the restaurant with that view was incredible. And yes at that time you did serve yourself, and there was a wide variety of food, so I would say 4 stars out of 5. That corner we also used as a preferred spot. Haha. By the way we were not that far from your house I imagine when we went with a dog tour with Green Dog. They just turned back at the end of the runway.

Poor young Grim left alone again, on hard tack biscuits while his parents are out swanning about in luxury but it is okay son it is only for the one night - looks a great Hotel and I like the decor !!

I stayed in a hotel in Sapporo, Japan, which had a similar lounge area with one wall covered with antique-looking leather bound books. That was a rare sight in Japan. They looked old and had fascinating English and other European titles that just begged one to open them and read. I tried to reach for one, and to my horror, discovered they had all been glued together and to the shelves! Yes, they had once been real books but had been turned into props just to create an ambience. What a tragedy. Wow, you look fantastic in that dress! Very huggable! On the subject of your viewers coming to Svalbard, I am reminded of the "Provence" book series by Peter Mayle who had bought a farm house there and described the people and style of life. I am sure the book series made him a millionaire many times over; the books were so popular. However, he was soon inundated with total strangers who came knocking on his door at all hours of the day, saying, "Hi! I just loved your books and wanted to say hi! Can I come in?" Mayle finally had to leave Provence and moved to Italy.
With the current corona situation this is the closest I'll get to traveling, getting dressed up, staying in a hotel and eating indoors in a restaurant for a while - but it was quite fun to see and the hotel looks beautifu! Also I can totally relate to just sitting down with a plate of food and getting started and my significant other has already finished his entire meal.
Svalbard looks AMAZING during the "polar night season"👍😊. I'd LOVE to make a visit there during that time of year. Thank you for posting such an awesome video! Please be safe up there!😊
Could you explain the bedding? I noticed in several of your videos which show beds, there seems to be individual pads or sleeping bags on each side of the bed. Is this a Norwegian or arctic thing?

I stayed there in February last year the staff were great and friendly 10/10 would recommend!!
Fogot to mention, the food is top notch if you go there the soup at the bar and the fish in the main restaurant were amazing!
I will definitely stay there when I finally get a chance to fly up to Longyearbyen via Oslo.

The breakfast in the restaurant with that view was incredible. And yes at that time you did serve yourself, and there was a wide variety of food, so I would say 4 stars out of 5.
That corner we also used as a preferred spot. Haha.
By the way we were not that far from your house I imagine when we went with a dog tour with Green Dog. They just turned back at the end of the runway.

I stayed in a hotel in Sapporo, Japan, which had a similar lounge area with one wall covered with antique-looking leather bound books. That was a rare sight in Japan. They looked old and had fascinating English and other European titles that just begged one to open them and read. I tried to reach for one, and to my horror, discovered they had all been glued together and to the shelves! Yes, they had once been real books but had been turned into props just to create an ambience. What a tragedy. Wow, you look fantastic in that dress! Very huggable! On the subject of your viewers coming to Svalbard, I am reminded of the "Provence" book series by Peter Mayle who had bought a farm house there and described the people and style of life. I am sure the book series made him a millionaire many times over; the books were so popular. However, he was soon inundated with total strangers who came knocking on his door at all hours of the day, saying, "Hi! I just loved your books and wanted to say hi! Can I come in?" Mayle finally had to leave Provence and moved to Italy.

With the current corona situation this is the closest I'll get to traveling, getting dressed up, staying in a hotel and eating indoors in a restaurant for a while - but it was quite fun to see and the hotel looks beautifu! Also I can totally relate to just sitting down with a plate of food and getting started and my significant other has already finished his entire meal.

Could you explain the bedding? I noticed in several of your videos which show beds, there seems to be individual pads or sleeping bags on each side of the bed. Is this a Norwegian or arctic thing?
