- Hi guys, here is a new video in which, as you saw in the title, compare F1 2020 classic cars and their original game.
btw we are almost 2.5k on the channel, so to thank you, i will do something to celebrate that very very soon.

I have been mentioning this for years now, an F1 Legacy series doing every era starting from the 60s.

@@samueljones3668 I dont think is so much problem of licenses (most of the cars were privateers representing no one but their owners, which incidentally are most dead or moved on from racing.
The real problem is documenting tracks and cars to make it look realistic, there were houndreds of different cars in the 60s and 70s and lots of tracks that dont exist anymore, and the only source to those is old video (and old videogames like GP Legends)
The real game of the classic car makes F1 2020 looks like a remastered edition of the original car game
F2010 is good for an 10yo game though
Except in the physics and FFB Department......where some of those old games still best the F1 games.

The step down from Grand Prix 4 to every other F1 game is even more heart- and gamebreaking
I mean one was in PS3 and one was on Wii/PSP so it is understandable.
@@BadDayLp wish the studio was still alive and making f1 games. We still never have any other games where a crane literally carries your car over the wall when you crash, instead of just disappearing. The immersion in that game is groundbreaking honestly. The AI helped a lot too, their mistakes are literally player-like, really realistic.
@@ajcF1 No. It´s still garbage. Compare the two versions of F12006 and 2009 from the PSP. 2006 beats it in almost everything.

@@GustavoOliveira-gi8rn it’s using motion blur, but the graphics are scaled to 720p , add reshade to f1 2020 and it gives a similar affect

I think alot of F1 fans can agree when I say we miss the cigarette sponsors oh so dearly. Obviously they cant allow them but the liverys always looked so good like JPS and Marlboro

At least in some games like Grand Prix 4 you can see them (if you use CSM mods)
I don't mind if it's cigarette manufacturers or not but I just wish more of the grid had iconic or unique title sponsors, like the Racing Point did with BWT

F1 2005 has the most brutal sounding F1 V10 sounds alongside those loud exhaust explosions.
F1 2020 including the variety of these cars is amazing. Not trying to be a greedy boi but having the old variations of tracks would be dead cool

@Andrei H. not really, actually. It's licences. Bridgestone, Michelin and Good Year are not in F1 anymore and apparently did not give permission to Codemasters to use their names.
Althougj they could've just fit Pirelli tyres on the cars as Ferrari did 2019 at Hockenheim when Mick drove the F2004
@@moonwolfproductionsans5239 when they use classic cars in real life they use new tyres because using 15 years old ones would be a suicide, bridgenstone, Michelin and goodyear don’t produce f1 spec tyres anymore

@@Altern8One it is forbidden. In f1 tobacco publicity cannot be used. Also you can't put tobacco ads in a game pitentially played by kids

With the 1994 Benetton this was F1 Beyond the Limit with the Karl Wendlinger Sauber Mercedes from 1993 on the left
That's cool. I've only played the 2004, 2006 Championship Edition and 2010 games out of those old F1 games those cars first appeared in.

at 1:30 i'm pretty sure that is Williams FW17 from 1995 in the old game because it's the same game as the 1995 Benetton
It was probably hard to pick a game for 2000 as there are 5 games on the 2000 season afaik.

The FW18 Williams in game is just F1 95 Game for PS1
but there isn't any offical licensed Game for the 1996 season.so i can undestand that.

F1 Pole Position 64 has 1996 season
The FW18 didn’t appear on the original PS1 F1 game as that was based on the 1995 season. The FW18 first appeared I think on Grand Prix Manager 2 and in 1997 on F1 Racing Simulator, both titles having the 1996 season licence.
See I thought the same thing but the first game I could think of with it in was F1 2006 where it was a bonus car. Same for F1 CE

1:31 that's an FW17 on the left, not the 18. Bizarre Creations' Formula 1 was based on the 1995 season.
Codemasters did the R26 dirty. They reused the sound from RB6 and called it a day.
And just pitched it up a bit
They could do a game for F1 1988 with today's graphics. I'd buy it!
F1 2006 is still a good game now. It was ahead of its time.

The Benetton B194 is wrong. The classic image is from F1 Heavenly Symphony for the Mega CD, which is based on the 1993 season
Also for the F1-90 the uploader used Final Lap R, based 1992 season. Could have used Final Lap 3 since it had 1990 cars though.
I was wondering if someone else caught that. Also, the Heavenly Symphony car used in the video was the Sauber, not the Benetton.

the game used for the 1994 benetton is called formula 1 beyond the limit for the sega cd and is about the 1993 season, not the 94 one

Some of the old games actually had some more realistic looking scenes.
Overall ofc graphics have improved but its not always clear in every single detail which is newer game.
Honestly, F1 2010 looks more realistic than 2020. Great game to play as well.

Nah, in the 2010's they put a sepia filter on the screen to make it seem more "realistic" or "serious" and less arcade-ish. And to hide all the imperfections. But is nowhere near to be more accurate to reality
