@@Nathan_TheTormentor Metal Monday will feature a mix of artists still! The member vote only decides the last week of the month. Gojira won the vote for today - 22nd April. 🙂
I’m a guitarist and not familiar with drums, and sorry for my poor English😆 would like to know why the snare ghost notes at 0:36 are marked in that bar but not the one before it? Isn’t those two notes supposed to be in the fourth quarter notes of last bar? Or it’s a kind of rule for ghost notes? Btw great tutorial man!
Thanks! Those are ‘grace notes’ and do not count as “official” notes in the bar - you don’t add them up as part of the 4 quarter notes. The rudiment being played is called a ‘drag’ which makes use of those 2 quick grace notes beforehand. Hope that helps!
Much thanks for your explanation! Googled grace note and now I understand the concept! So in this situation, the kick after those snares is a bit later than grid?Or the snares are a bit earlier?
I’m not subscribed so I can’t really ask anything, but I would recommend for you, just to give a listen, the band Hatebreed. Hope you like them, you’re a great drummer.

Love your channel man! Thanks for all the work you put in. More gojira songs would be awesome!!
I was listening to this song non stop the past two days thinking I need to learn it on drums and now my favorite tutorial drummer posts it. Hell yeh!
That's so solid and brilliant, thank you for breaking down this one
FINALLY some Gojira! Please more!! (The gift of guilt)
Good news, every Monday for a month will see the release of a new Gojira song
Definitely more Gojira coming up in the near future!

Wow🎉
That looks hard AF dang
Lots of parts that cycle round, so once you’ve got a few bars tight it comes together nicely!
Gojira, lets go

@@劉仲齊 Snares are a bit before. The kick will still hit on the downbeat. Happy to help 🤘

Thanks Nathan! I like Hatebreed - a band that I’ll eventually get on the channel. Just so many bands to get through! Thanks for watching 👍
love the song, but...this is fucking hard!
