I remember asking my brother back in 2001 about a CD I randomly found in a pile while helping him to move. He said Half Life... now, 16 years later. It is still one of the best experiences I've ever had.

I didn't play the Half Life games until I got my first PC in 2012 or something and I figured out that steam was the place to buy games, and that Valve owns it and that they also make games. I bought almost all their games during the summer sale.

Yep, it's a great ending, still have some unanswered questions but with Alyx in stasis and Gordon in the middle of nowhere, a possible HL3 could be the end of the game series where Alyx is awakened by the G-Man, find Gordon and finding out the truth about the G-Man, but that's the best we're gonna get and I am grateful that the writer gave us some closure
To me, especially based on Laidlaws statements it seems like the G-Man is following some kind of goal, and he "spawns" gordon into key-locations/times to achieve his goal.

I think if anything, Marc Laidlaw's work points out that Gman was actually the good guy. Yeah, he brought the combine to earth and made sure the war happened, but if he never did that then the combine would have just continued to build a massive empire of enslavement because the human resistance had what they needed to defeat the combine: the Borealis. So he seemed to make odd decisions, but this is the total logical conclusion.
As to who he is and what he can do, I still haven't the slightest. The idea that he actually works with the government makes sense, as he appears human and has access to the information the scientists uncovered, even seen talking to them and riding trams in Black Mesa in the beginning. But we can't say for certain.

Cecil Palmer I honestly hate that ending, mainly because it's my worst fear in life - to be cut off from all the people I know, but also because I love all the characters, especially Alyx, and wouldn't exactly like just an abrupt cut-off because gee mans took her and combine apparently are invincible and the vortigaunts never even knew.
This is beyond sad, people have legitimately passed away with the idea that they'll be able to see the final chapter to this masterpiece. You know what's the scariest part about waiting? Not knowing if you are waiting for "something".

Exactly. People will always die. Even if HL3 or HL2:E2 was released a month after the previous game, people still would have died between that time frame. People will always die without experiencing something, it's life, and it sucks, but you can't help it and you shouldn't dwell on it.

In 2018 we will reach the year where halfway between the creation of Valve and the current time will be the release of HL2 Ep2. After that it will have been longer since the release of EP2 than it has been between the creation of Valve and the release of every HL games. If we applied that same timeline to Nintendo with Mario we would end up with Super Smash Bros Melee as their last game.

They could just put Adrian in a different city and time zone (before Freeman shows up), and do something similar to Reinstated.

Instead of placing Shephard's into the typical boring bad guy role, let's try this:
What if G-Man releasing Gordon Freeman from stasis in HL2 timeline was merely a distraction for everyone?
What if G-Man purposely released Gordon for the world & Combines to focus on him, while at the same time sends unknown people like Shephard at the backyard to destroy the Combines from within?
What if it wasn't Barney, Gordon, Alyx, or Eli started the uprising in C17, but it was commanded by Shephard?
What if Shephard was behind the ones disabling the Suppression Field, thus allowing humans to have children again?
Most important question is, what if Adrian Shephard was already released from stasis long ago, but we just didn't know it?

Interesting. That's only what I play now. Fallout4, Skyrim, Reran through HL1, HL2, and all available episodes this past Dec. Portal 1 & 2 ... And while Civ 5 is capable of multiplayer, I only play single player. Roller-Coaster Tycoon. Minecraft (while capable of multiplayer, I've never tried).
And, yes, while I am just a single point of data, my point is important... particularly if Valve is going with the "money drives creativity" angle. Because they don't get monetization from single player games when their hats in multiplayer games are the things that are selling to players of multiplayer games. The single player gamer is essentially forgotten and blindly ignored.
The last multiplayer computer game I played was Jackbox Party Pack (2, 3, 4).

Imbalanxd maybe I have bias towards Portal and Halflife in particular, but I believe he does cover news regarding those (Dota 2, C.S-G.O.) pretty decently.
Imbalanxd if you watch his channel he actually covers Csgo and tf2 very extensively, with a few half life and portal videos every once in a while. As for Dota, he's said he's not a Moba guy

The Episodes were a mistake. After regular Half Life 2, the story would've been free to go anywhere, but with the following Episodes, they wrote themselves into a courner. I couldn't imagine any possible conclusion to the story from that point that wouldn't leave most fans dissatisfied.

I actually made it a duty of mine that day, to inform as many people as I could through FB and Twitter that Episode 3 isn't the end of Half Life. And some stating that the letter detailed a plot to Half Life 3. THAT WASN'T HALF LIFE 3, it was Half Life 2: Episode 3, the final episodic game from Valve that books end the story that began in Half Life 2, but not the end of the whole series. Episode 3 occurs, Alyx gets taken away by the Gman, Gordon is rescued by the Vorts before the ship blows up, then Half Life 3 comes after that. Gosh, some people on the Internet are so blinded by memes it kinda triggers me.

Assuming that HL3 DOES come, (which i highly doubt it will.) anything they port over would take ALOT of time, and by then everyone in the community will have given up on the game, thus having valve realize they're better off with steam, crates and skins...
