- Subic Bay, Philippines, March 31 - April 7th, 2022: U.S. Airmen with the 1st Special Operations Wing conduct live-fire training missions with the AC-130J Ghostrider during Balikatan 22.
(Balikatan is an annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. military designed to strengthen bilateral interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences. Balikatan, Tagalog for ‘shoulder-to-shoulder,’ is a long-standing bilateral exercise between the Philippines and the United States highlighting the deep-rooted partnership between both countries. Balikatan 22 is the 37th iteration of the exercise and coincides with the 75th anniversary of the U.S.-Philippine security cooperation.)

@@jhovannialcazar3596 … No matter how it’s done, I can’t help BUT respect & admire the work done by all branches of the military… Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines & those elite, specialist units like the Seals, Rangers, etc. I have a question you may be able to answer for me. When it comes to the coveted Green Berets… Are they awarded because of a certain level of achievement or are they one of those specialist units??? I’ve always been curious to find out. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated 👍😁👍

@@jhovannialcazar3596 … Just like the Navy SEALS huh??? I’ve seen documentaries on the training that anyone wishing to join them has to go through & it truly looks like hell. I’ve heard of the Special Forces, the SEALS & the Army Rangers & seen the training they go through & anyone who makes it through DESERVES all the accolades they get for doing so. I met 2 former SAS Commandos when I went to a shooting range recently for the first time ever & although they had quite an intimidating presence, they helped me overcome my nerves as I had never been close to guns before & they taught me all about guns that I needed to know, especially aiming techniques & correct handling of the weapons. I normally don’t like guns but a friend of mine invited me along & I didn’t want to say no to them. It was an awesome experience, I must say.

Does it make any sense using this weapon system in a symmetrical warfare? I expect it to be a big slow moving target for any sort of AA system. Do AC 130s engage targets from altitudes above the range of MANPADs?
