A really useful episode for me - I'm about to make on a start on An EE Lightning and I'll be delighted if I get anywhere near this level with the metallic finish.
for the record, green parts are not for identification - they are called dielectric panels and usually used to cover anything radiating or receiving RF, like radar etc and as such either made entirely from proper materials or covered with appropriate paints. anyway great build of a great aircraft, cheers.
This looks incredible. I like the aircraft of the era (though my favorite is WWII aircraft). And have built my share of the Mig 21. I do wish there was a NICE version of the Mig 19. That and t the F-8 are my favorites. I can't build models too large due to space for things. Anyway. Sorry for rambling. Your builds are amazing and I appreciate your them.
@@ModellingWeekly This is true. Rambling can be eye opening in certain Carrara Cases. I don't have a compressor myself so I just brush. I will never be a contest e winner but I have fun, and that's what it's all a about.
amazing model. what airbrush would you recommend for someone looking to upgrade from a cheap one bought off of amazon. trying not to spend more than 100 pounds. thanks
Hey! Glad you like the build 😊 unfortunately I'm at university full time at the moment, so it's a bit tricky for commissions. I'll be back at the workbench for around 4 months starting from may/June next year however, so if you're up for a more long term project then that could work :) apologies for the lack of flexibility, I hate having to let people down haha!
Great video, looks fantastic, could you tell me you're method for applying the tamiya varnish please (thinning ratio + pressure + Nozzle size) I use the gloss regularly but have never had any look with the satin or matt.
Yep no problem! I always spray varnish out of my 0.4mm ultra, at about 15 to 20 psi. Thinning ratio is always by eye, though if I were to put a figure on it I'd say 1:3 varnish:thinner. Most important thing really is spraying in a warm environment, as cold air can cause that frosted effect that sometimes happens. Hope this helps!
@@ModellingWeekly Thanks that's very helpful. I really like the gloss but with the satin/matt I would either get a gloss finish or the frosted effect that you mentioned.
There are no import charges for goods worth up to £135. VAT will be included in the payment by Eduard so you also don't need to pay this later. The big drawback is the shipping costs however. They increase pretty exponentially as you fill up your basket, so it's only really worth it if the models you're buying are discounted massively (i.e. 50% off during the sweep sales)
Thank you for your input, but I disagree. In my opinion the camera settings are adequate given the difficulty of filming metallic colours. If the video is too bright for your preference you can bring down your devices brightness :)
I hope you enjoy guys! :D
Great model! The online resources today can really make you up your kit game! A world away from when I was a kid!
Thank you man! 😊
Ocean has to be my fav channel member
North Vietnamese camo? Yes please!
Hell yeah :D
The green nose one and wheels were so satisfying to see go on. Excellent build man
Looks awesome! Thanks for sharing. Happy days and model on! 😎🇨🇦
Many thanks Peter! And to you too :))
Very nice finish. Not overly complicated and it still looks the part. Well done.
Thank you very much mate!
The Eduard 1:72 Mig-21 is the best in scale IMO. Their 1:48 version is too while we are at it. Excellent work
Fantastic job
Many thanks!
Top video again matey.. went together amazingly well
Thanks a ton Mos, glad you like it :)
Another sweet build! Looks awesome :D
Thanks very much matt! 😀😀
Very nice build and finish, thanks for sharing.
Glad you like it!

Thank you! Glad you could find it handy
Nice work 👍
Thanks man!
Excellent build mate. I am building the FL in 72nd with this kit and the PFM spine. Your work really helps👍🏽🙏🏽
Thank you! Glad it's helpful mate. Good luck with your build 👍
Excelent. Nice building. Congratulations. I should have a try to those metallic colours from Gunze
Thanks very much! Would definitely give them a go, they're incredible paints
Gx2 is THE black base, its not a primer, similar to this , but it's super tough.
Amazing build. Your best yet.
Ah, brilliant, I'll look into getting a bottle! Thanks very much James! :D

anyway great build of a great aircraft, cheers.
Ah thank you for the info! :D
Awesome result! Looks very good!
Many thanks! :D
😮 beautiful 🤩
Thanks!!
Nice work on the build. 👍👌🙂 I picked up one of these kits myself recently. Planning to make a start on it this weekend.
Many thanks! Good luck with your build!
Nice build :)
The ejection seat being built late might be for easier masking if you're painting without the canopy attached
Thanks! That's a good point, hadn't thought of that :)
Stunning build mate, well done
Many thanks Hamish :))

very nice build, I have this in my stash, the colour and shaded area make the build set out. I'll note about the undercoat, thanks.
Many thanks for your kind words 😊
MiGs, in term of looks, are highly underrated, they are sexy as hell (mig-28 from the documentary movie Top Gun is the sexiest)
Oh totally, very beautiful aircraft indeed
Nice build! :)
Thanks!

@@OliverCheetham-q8b thank you! I always recommend the harder and Steenbeck Ultra 0.2 for that price bracket :)
Czech!!! Brilliant how much would you charge for a Czech version? Sadly, age and sausage fingers mean I won't be able to do justice to any kit

Really loved this one. Did you have to weight the nose?
Thanks a ton! I actually didn't funnily enough, the kit was designed so that the centre of mass is ahead of the rear wheels
What type of glue did you use to glue main wheels or rockets?
CA Glue :)
I mean product name.
@@kowix83 everbuild High Viscosity superglue, but any CA would work
What is the ca glue you use ? im looking for some, but it's a bit confusing which is which, cheers
It's VMS Flexy 5k black ca :)
Cheers for that👍
what did you use to glue the photo etched parts?
VMS black CA glue :)
Has anyone from the UK purchased kits directly from Eduard? We are looking at some but unaware if there will be any import costs?.

Yet again Mr Weekly you've put my modelling skills to shame
Aw thanks man, it means a lot :)
the graphics are too bright. too much contrast. they need dulling down.

@@ModellingWeekly the tone of the decals are to bright. not the settings on my screen. they could do with being more matte.
@@888ssss ohhhh you mean the colour of the decals! I thought you meant the camera settings (i.e. 'graphics') yes, I see what you mean now :)
@@ModellingWeekly you could leave them in sunlight for a week to fade the sheet, before applying ?
Jst don't do 1/72
