Hope u enjoy - would u buy one?
what if i have to run a 3080ti dtrix and a 13700k, thats 5 8 pins needed , there seems to be only 4 total,
I don't know, I would have to watch a review first. :)
@@furbs9999 lol
this psu is a bit overkill for my build but hey it's probably a very safe option

My first build ever btw
Thats a really nice build and you could save £30-£40 by foing with the 850wt option mate 👍
This not a review, this is an unboxing.
Thanks 4 watching
ha, yup
Hey mate
I've just finished building my 1st PC in 15 years, a 5900x with H100i cooler. Watching your excellent and detailed videos gave me the confidence. I was happy when it turned on and booted first time. Thanks again and keep posting the videos.
Ian congrats mate that's amazing well done 👏 and I really appreciate the comment 👍 it's messages like this that makes me keep going! All the best
Actually that 12VHPWR to PCI(6+2) x 2 is for cards with triple 8 pin PCIE, like the RX 7900 XTX or RTX 3080ti AIB models, you will need that 12VHPWR + one PCIE 8 to power such card without daisy chaining.
Appreciate the feedback mate
But you can also use it for any other card with just 2x 8 PINs, right? I mean, it basically has the ability to deliver more power through this cable. If you have for example a RX 6950 XT which spikes a lot in power needed, you could use the 12VHPWR to PCI(6+2) x 2 for it to get a better and more stable power delivery than through a normal PCIe 8 PIN to 8 PIN connector.
Yes mate you can and looks nicer with one simple cable 👍
is it ok to use it for rtx 3060 ti as well ,for better transients ? @@tbo754
Your review is what i needed. good job👍
Thanks mate 👍
After a year of use, stay clear of this one, mine has dropped off, my GPU now has started to get mad coil whine and I tested it on another PSU and the coil whine goes, my GPU is 4090 Suprim X water cooled.
Sorry to hear that mate but I've used in 20 times and no issues mate - could just be unfortunate 😕 I've had mine with 4090 white strix over 12 months and no issues - but that's mine. Thanks for sharing 👍
Yes. Your reviews are well done and conducted in detail. The channel should have more subscribers frankly. However, the competition is fierce
Thanks very much really appreciate it 😀 👍
Just built my pc and the guy at micro center showed me this and I live that it was 12ish to 12 pin and not adapters or multiple 4 pins to 12 pin etc. it is a nice looking ps also but the 12-12 is amazing and my aorus master 4090 loves it. Overclocked to 3030 MHz .. these 4090’s are insane haha
Glad it worked for you and yes the 12 pin or 16 pin is mint. Just ensure no pressure at the connector at both ends and all the way pushed in! Thanks 4 watching
This is irrelevant but can you review the Deep Cool Gammax L240 V2, cause it's the cheapest 240mm aio I can find in our market
I will take a look for sure 👌
can i use 12VHPWR to PCI(6+2) x 2 for my 3060ti as well ? i bought a new build ( intel 13700k cpu , Z790 tuf gaming wifi plus ddr5 Mb , RTX 3060ti Gpu , and 750W PSU so i'm gonna buy this PSU for future because maybe i can later upgrade to 4090 , so do you recommend it ? please let me know your opinion , and thank you for your great Review .
Yes you can definitely use it and it will sort of the cable mess also buddy
thank you @@TechCheckUK
@trancephile2412 no problem mate 👌
I bought the Asus loki by mistake since its for small builds. Ill have to return it.
Is this one regular size for mid tower cases and regular size motherboards?
Also , is that 12 pin the new connector for the 4090? Or does this need an adapter?
Yeah this is atx 3.0 standard psu mate so will with all cases 👍 also all new connectors for 4000 series gpus
awesome, I just bought one, thanks@@TechCheckUK !!
No problem mate I just got the 850wt version too for another couple builds. Thanks pal 👍
Should i use the 600 watt cable for my msi 4070 ti super or just the 12 to double 8 pin?
If you have the new connector I personally use that as less cables but you can use the adaptor and 2 x 8 pin cables - personal preference mate
Sir can you explain how to use the mis provided Molex cable to run all my case fans, each case fans has male-female and 4 pin fan connector.
U just need to ensure you stack the molex connections and ensure they are pushed together correctly - personally I hate molex as its 2023 and I believe sata is much better so I would say invest in better quality fans
Any chance we can see that 4090 inside your case Gareth?
It's coming next video mate and week after all the cable mod extensions and new connectors
Amazing vidddd thank you so much!
Glad it helped! Thansk for watching mate 👍
I hope that fancy new GPU cable is long
Just ordered a 4090 and this PSU
I’ve got a Phanteks NV7 so the power supply is quite high and far away from the GPU 😕
Yeah its 70cm so plenty or cable mate
Hey man I got the same case nv7 was the psu wiring long enough?
For my motherboard It takes a 12 pin cpu cable but this only has a 4pin cpu cable what can i do about it?
The psu come with 2 x 8 pins which can be split mate. So you would use a 8 pin and split tge 2nd 9 pin into 2 x 4 pins and use 1 x 4 pin and the 8 pin and your good to go. Hope that helps 👍
@TechCheckUK Thank you! So I plug the 8 pin in like normal and then I take the second cpu cable and plug half of it in? So only plug up 4 pins instead of the 8? This is my first build I wasn't sure if that's what you mean by splitting it. So like leaving half of them plugged in and half out?
@TechCheckUK thank you so much I figured it out!
@Orion Fleenor perfect! Yea the 8 pin splits into 2 x 4 pins mate - good luck on your 1st build and no worries at all 👍
@@orionfleenor7409 nice 👌
Great review! and I thinking of getting this one but I see there are only 2x PCIe (8 PIN to 6+2 PIN) Cable, can I use the16 PIN to 6+2 PIN) Cable for gpu thats needs 3x 8pin? like the 7900 xtx?
Yes mate u can and thats exactly how you would do it 👍
Noob question
Can I use that new 600w cable with my 3080ti FE?
As I haven’t got a 4090 yet
Hi mate the 600w is a 16 pin cable and your 3080ti is a 12 pin - u also get one of them in the psu too
Ok thanks
No worries mate 👍
I need a longer 16pin cable... and I cant find any ... wtf
prob gonna have to get a custom one from cablemod or something
Yeah I agree with @Ant M - cablemod is best as u can stipulate cable length - expensive though as I just ordered too £40
Sir the topic is irrelevant to this video but though to ask you
In RMA process if we are not satisifed can we ask for full refund of the gpu card
Today my 7800xt nitro plus have stopped showing rgb lights the card is working great though
The card was purchased 6 months ago so i have demand for a new seal pack card or will look for full refund
Depends on their individual RMA process tbh. If it's not working it would need to be repaired and if returned and still not working then yes you would be able to request a new card or exchange.
@@TechCheckUK yes i have surrendered the card to the store they will dispatch it to saphire team
But i still feel its not worth to go for the rma just for the sake of rgb as i doubt rma cards don’t survive long
But since its been just 6 months it hurts
Lets see if they do give me new one
@gurpindersinghmuttar yeah send an update on outcome- for me if it's not 100% it needs to be fixed
So I have a 7900xtx but mine needs 3 cables connected to it and this power supply only has two so I was wondering if I could use the 16 pin one that has a 6 plus two on the other side for my gpu. So the 16 pin end will go into the power supply while the other end with the 6 plus 2 goes into the gpu. Would that be safe or would it blow something up?
Yeah thats fine mate 👍
Did that work bro? Bcz i don't think that's safe.
@@glitch1122 yeah it worked for me perfectly fine no overheating or anything
@@ashapatel11 Great! Good for you.
Glad u got your answer
So the 600w cable is all I need to power the 4090? And not use the 3 to 1 that the card came with?
U can use either BUT for a cleaner setup I would use the 12v high power cable mate
@@TechCheckUK ok awesome my Msi 4090 is out for delivery as I type so hopefully be installed this evening. Thanks for the reply!
More than welcome mate good luck 👍
@@cookracinginc.2783how is it in planning to buy one too
sir this PSU has two 12vwphr cable and Rest are standard pcie cables
1. One 12vwphr cable for nvidia 600w( single cable)
2. One for Amd 12vwphr cable ( Split ends)
Currently i am using the Amd cable for my 7800xt nitro - this gpu asks for 2 connections.
which one is reliable the 12vwphr cable which iam using or the standard pcie cables?
Both will work fine no issue just up to you whether you want to use 16 pin to 2 x 8 pin pcie or 16 to 16 pin
@@TechCheckUK if we decide to go for standard pcie cables each connection should be dedicated cable coming from the psu right?
@@TechCheckUK can i dm you photos to your insta id just to be more clear?
You can use either mate
Yes send them to me
Sir the 24pin motherboard cable comes with this psu has messy design , it does not look clean when connected to the motherboard is it same for you as well?
Hi mate thanks 4 watching - no mine is fine, the other side of tge 24 pin where it connects to psu is a little more fiddle as you have to split the cables to insert into psu
@@TechCheckUK mine on the motherboard one looks very crossy and tangled i may have to check and redo it again
@gurpindersinghmuttar yeah I would mate mine is fine in mobo side
1) is this PSU Quiet ?
2) is there any coil whine ?
3) is it good ?
thank you for the video
Yes its a great psu - mine dint have any whine at all
can i use this with 7900xtx?
Yes mate no worries at all
i am about to make my first build and i dont know much about PSU connectivity. how exactly do i connect this PSU with my 7900xtx 3x8 pin? do i use 2 pin cable from the 600w output + another one from PCie port? @@TechCheckUK
@bismarckrathod5890 depends on make and model of 7900xtx mate
i have asus tuf card. @@TechCheckUK
Will this fit the asus prime case with a 7900 xt?
Prime case support psu up to 180mm and tge a1000g is 150mm so you will be fine. Case also support upto 338mm for gpus and typically 7900xt are around 280mm so again should be fine mate 👍 hope that helps
@@TechCheckUKIt does,thank you
@@beowulf2146 no worries 👍
Sir the msi psu shows cluster of 4 inputs named as SATA and MOLEX
which port should i use for sata
Is it the starting two?
Currently i have inserted my two dedicated sata cables on 1 and 2
And for my amd 7800xt gpu i am using 12vwphr cable provided by this psu
One end is inserted in 12v and the rest split end goes into the gpu is it correct?
You can connect a sata or molex to any 6 pin pcie connector. They are clearly labelled on psu
For your gpu yeah just ensure 16 pin connected to psu and then connect 2 x 8 pins to gpu
can i use this psu with ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3050 8GB GDDR6 ???
Yes mate - it has all the necessary connectors for a RTX3050 - it's a little overkill to be honest but at least u are sorted for upgrades for the future 😉 👍
It is not MAG as MAG series does not have over 850W PSU. It is MPG A1000G.
Your 100% correct its my typo - appreciate it 👍
Can i use a 4070 with this psu?
Yes mate no problem 😊
Had to send mine back, when i got mine it was sent to me with 2 broken pcie cords, one with broken pin and one with a missing pin. The good thing was that I did not need those cords but bad thing was that when the pc went to full load, my pc would shut down and reboot because the psu did not handle the quick power changes. According to the store i bought it from said alot of people have reported issues with this psu :-/
Interesting I have purchased 3 so far and had no issues I just had delivered today the 850wt version but not opened as of yet! Always buy from a reputable place and any issues they can be sent back like you my man! Sorry to hear the issues.
@@TechCheckUK the store i bought it from is the most famous pc store in Sweden, they will send me a new one. Im glad to hear that you have not had any issues. I hope the new one they send me works fine :-)
@jewelersofwhale nice! I'm sure the new one will be fine I been using mine for a few months now with RTX4090 with no issues and ill post later about tge 850w one too - good luck
@@TechCheckUK oh thats good, then you are pushing your psu with your 4090. I have 7900xtx and it has some insane power spikes. :-)
@jewelersofwhale absolutely mate OC the shi▪︎t out of mine with 7950x cpu and been rock solid! I have always loved seasonic but couldn't wait for the ATX with pcie 5 to come out so went with tge 1000w from msi uts gold rated but they also do tge 1300w which is platinum too
tremenda fuente
Un poco cara por aqui pero me gusta como se ve y esa capacidad y potencia puede servir mucho para una gama alta
Thanks mate - prices in UK have dropped a little now which is good buy still around £180, thanks 4 watching and taking the time to comment 👍
This is not a power supply review.
You have no equipment to test any of the voltages or test any of the rails.
All you are doing is reading the marketing and showing people what it looks like, which is an unboxing, not a review.
I'm not sure you are qualified to review a power supply.
Thanks for the positivity - I have every price of testing equipment required but this wasn't a tear down this was a simple unboxing and review based on me building 20+ times with this particular PSU. I have it in my own personal rig and have done exactly what u outlined to ensure my 7950x3d and RTX4090 would be perfect. I also don't recommend products I either don't like or wouldn't be prepared to buy myself. Have a good one 👍
Mantappp
Absolutely
I bought this and i only have 6750 xt 😂
Love it at least u know u don't need another one for a long time
@@TechCheckUK for sure. i bought the a1000g because i got discount here like $17 off. the price went the same with the a850g one
@Shaun perfect mate 👌 made sense then. Thanks 4 watching
msi 3 kilos pack, corsair and the other stuff 2 kilos... same builder... enjoy your choice
+ the video is sponsored, stay away from this channel
Lol 😆 I appreciate your vivid insight 🤣 Msi has never sponsored a video on my channel. Thanks for tge silly comment
what if i have to run a 3080ti dtrix and a 13700k, thats 5 8 pins needed , there seems to be only 4 total,
Only 4 inputs but the cabes are daisy outs so each of the express cables can do 2 connections so 4 no issues for gpu plus 2 x 8 for cpu and you still have the 16 pin too. Plenty mate to go.round
i have 80mm space from GPU to case, is this PSU small enough to fit
Hi mate dims are 15x15x8.6 so I'm afraid not - hope this helps
