- The school in My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia), U.A. High School, has a ton of talented students attending it, but classes are divided by not just talent. Class 1-A and Class1-B definitely have some rivalries... but we believe there are some 1-A students that should actually be in 1-B! Do you agree with us? Let us know in the comments!

The Students in My Hero Academia are super talented aspiring hero's and are honing their skills in U.A's hero course. Between the two classes in the hero course, Class 1-A is known as the better class compared to 1-B. But do all the students in 1-A actually deserve to be there? There are some students that seem they should actually be in 1-B and the same goes for students in class 1-B, some of them should be in 1-A. So let's take a look at the roster of both classes and see who the weak links are in U.A class 1-A like Mineta, Ojiro, Sato, and others and swap them with some of the stronger students in Class 1- B like Kendo, Monoma, Shiozaki, and others.

I heard that the vine girl was supposed to be in 1-A but the creator didn't feel like drawing her hair every episode so he just bumped her into 1-B.

See... this is the kinda fanon people seem to take as canon. Both classes are technically equal, neither course is supposed to be stronger than the other... they are equally split. 1-A is just more popular because they were in the spot light more and got stronger because they got more experience other than the courses.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Even if some schools work that way (it's called level's classes where I live), there is any reason to put the best together. 1-A is stronger because they actually experienced their hero duty before 1-B. People seems to forget that UA is some elite school but when you compare their student with pro-heroes, only the big 3 and some of 1-A actually are as good as them.

no it isnt.. Neito Monoma? he always said something like this, "NANI? how can class 1a have more failures than class 1b?!!!" then this shows that class 1A is supposedly stronger.
1-a wasn’t supposed to be made up of the “strongest” students. They were split into the classes randomly and the only reason they’re considered the “strongest” class is because of the multiple villain attacks they survived. Not necessarily because of their skills.
They were split based on their ability to take a bad situation and turn it into an opportunity or back into a good situation

Honestly if people did pay attention to each episodes, it was already stated that the class were random and even. Class 1 A gained popularity for the fact that they encountered villains and were able to defend and stay alive as students. Besides if you put all the "best" in one room then there wouldn't be any room for improvement. And UA is an elite school with a principal who's really smart.
Being a hero aint only on how strong your quirk can be but how you're able to use it tactically and think about the surroundings.

exactly....idk where people got the idea that class 1-A is supposed to be superior to class 1-B literally nowhere in the show did they state that the only thing they actually DID state was that the classes were actually chosen randomly.
The class 1a and 1b students are both on even ground because in the episode where they go to UA high for the first day it explains that 1a and 1b are just randomly splint into two. The reason they are referred to as better is because they survived the villain attacks multiple times and more than 1/

class 1A and 1B weren’t separated based on power. it was completely random. if you pass the entrance exam or get in on recommendation, you are randomly put into one of the classes. class 1A is just considered stronger since we’ve faced more villain attacks
but isnt class 1-a "hero course" while class 1-b is "regular course"? the 'randomly'' doesn't really fits in my mind according to that. Also whenever Monoma bugs class 1-a, he says "isn't class 1-a supposed to be better?".

@@m.j.2470 class b is still a hero course. And the reason monoma might be like that is because class a has faced more real life villains, so he might have higher standards for their test performances.

I honestly can't understand how Mineta even got into the Hero Course
Edit: I actually DO know how he got in, by gunking up the robots, but does he really deserve to be there? What about Shinso? Mineta should have never gotten into the hero course. I'm surprised and kinda sad he didn't pass out once he saw the robots so he would fail.

monoma hates 1-a because they get all the attention and praise after getting attacked at usj, even though both a and b are equal hero courses. of course all the op characters are in 1-a for plot, but monoma hates 1-a because the two classes are SUPPOSED to be considered equal, not because 1-a inherently has a higher level of ability.

During the training camp arc Kendo said “We all got in through the same exam” and she was referring to classes 1-A and 1-B Both classes have the same hero curriculum The only reasons class 1-A is stronger is because of all the villan attacks and because it’s the main characters class

@@dromeoMusicOfficial People underestimate Mineta a lot. I know his quirk may seem useless, but its good for traps and stuff like that. If he was given a less pervy nature and a better appearance, no-one would judge him, or at least not as much as they do now. Remember, his balls can stick to anything but himself so he can use it to trap things and give himself speed and jump boosts.

Does everyone not realize that class 1A and 1B are on the same level? They're the *hero course* classes. You try fitting 60+ student in one class, it doesn't work. Just because B comes after A in the English alphabet doesn't mean the creators are trying to imply the student in 1B are worse than 1A, they're simply in a different class than the one the main character was placed in and that's all there is to it. TLDR; 1A students aren't 'better' than 1B simply for being in a class with the first alphabet letter.

I kinda disagree with some
*Ojiro- he don't have some support items (the support items i have in mind are double edged sword,samurai,shield, a heavy ball for his tail/ or the one nighteye use to throw, hiding it in his tail will give him more strength, some dragon like armor for his tail with spikes and such since his tail looks so powerful and fast) and he still don't have a flashy fight like that arm girl. He have so many potential but he need more screen time to see it. For sure he can also defeat that gas dude. He will also be op if he get to learn fighting styles like muay thai, taekwondo or other fighting style (if he learn it all, he can be op because he can just combine the fighting styles he learned), if he learned to be flexible (zafrina from teken for example) it will add up to his strength, he can also use the tail for extra mobility like boosting the speed or jumping high.
(I lowkey got hurt when you basicaly said Ojiro is useles)
*Mineta- He is just hated because he is perv and because of that, people don't find the real power of the student. Mineta is oviously a support type hero with trapping quirk, the manga show how agaile he is when he use his quirk efficiently and he is a planner, that is why his strength is inteligence. The draw back is just he is full of fear inside and that make his mind go wild (can't remember the right term sorry, but that is just my point, he can't think effectively).
*Sato- i kinda agree with you this time because the one you compared up whith him is kinda op. But he has my heart so i don't really care. Besides he is still a student, he have many potential
*Sero- like mineta. He looks like a support/offense type hero, the tape is super sticky what i mean by sticky is that, if you caught up with the tape, you won't be able to stand up or move. And it make opponents imobalize without harming them. That's why he deserv the 1-A place.
*Koda- You know that he can also talk to insects, and insects are all over the place, that is why, if he see a mosquito or a fly, he can talk to them and tell them to call their spicies all over the place (city or every where, for sure there is fly or mosquito aroun right..?) Ants too ( ants have manny more population than human. Like alooott more) and using that , the enemy can be immobalize and he can call for help, it's probably possible if the animal can talk to the other animal but different in spicies like a fly and a tiger (welppppl I THINK), the tiger can be at his place and back him up. Since he can control flying animals, he can command them to carry him, making his ability to escape increas. Plusss the cracken and god zilla probably exist in their world.... sooooo yeahhhhh he actualy rocks

Is 1-A and 1-B even supposed to be the best and second best students??? I never really viewed it that way. They’re just a random assortment of students and they both have pretty equally strong potential heroes. The show simply doesn’t focus that much on 1-B because the show is mostly about Midoriya, who’s in 1-A. So of course the focus will be more on his immediate classmates.

Lily Shimizu this can be evidenced back in when reviewing scores for the acceptance test where Tetsutetsu ended up in the number eight spot right behind deku along with Ibara at fourth Kendo at fifth and Awase at tenth

there's a really strong theory (i can't remember if it's confirmed) that the class roster for one 1-a and 1-B aren't decided by who's the best and who's the second best but by which teacher they would improve best from. Class one 1-b all seem to have an even individual skill set like their teacher, and are taught more teamwork and coordination exercises. while class 1-A all have at least one skill(or personality trait) they're serveirly lacking in(ie: izuku: control) and need to vastly improve. aizawa has been shown to focus more on individually focused lesson plans and may even work one:one with students. so that's probably why they're in their respective classes. they're paired with the teacher which will help them best.

I always thought they intended to put one "type" of hero in each class. for example, a stealth hero in every class, or a tank hero in every class. that's why they didn't put Krishima and Tetsutetsu in the same class despite having very similiar stats and quirk.

His tail is strong enough to smash robots. It's a 2 foot thick mass of muscle that massively improves his strength and mobility.
Considering some of the other pro heroes out and about I'd say he's pretty strong. He's certainly not going to be top 10 or anything but it's very useful.
This isn't about if their power is bad or not, it's if they could be replaced by someone better.

I love my class! We do have some pretty powerful people in the class! Monoma has a pretty cool quirk, I just wish he was a bit nicer to 1A, we aren’t enemies 😅. Sero makes pretty good use of his quirk at times, it’s an honor that you think I should be in 1A in his stead. Working with Froppy would be a lot of fun, I bet we would make a good team. And my other class 1B members that you mentioned are all super fun too.

I think he’s saying that those 1-b characters deserve to be in 1-a more so that they get more spotlight than the ones in 1-a with useless quirks. While I agree that 1-a is OP enough I’d kill to see my boy Awase get more screentime.
Here's the thing about Sero, his power is in the versatility of his quirk. Sure in an empty field the most he can use against his opponent is their own body so he's pretty useless, but in a city? Where most heroism would happen? He's amazing. Let's go over it using the stat rating, to make it easier.
Power: On his own? Absolutely negligible. I admit that. But consider that his tape can support the weight of a 5' 10" high schooler, who is probably mostly muscle considering the series, which I'm going to say is at least 160 lbs. Of course power isn't what he's going to fight with, but I thought it'd be nice to point out he can throw some weight around.
Speed: He is not confined to the ground. He basically has a built in grappling hook! Surround this boy with high rises and he has a advantage! Surround this boy with any form of height greater than 3-5 meters and he has an advantage! Plus! His speed comes with momentum and with momentum comes force so be prepared to get kicked in the face by a 160 lbs boy travelling at 50 mph. (side note: mei/support department, make him shock absorbent shoes)
Technique: THIS IS WHERE MY SON SHINES! Have you considered what you can do with tape? Stick things to it. What's normally all around a city? Things to stick things to! With a little creative thought anything can be a weapon. Is that a loose brick? It's a flail now. Did you just get slammed into a vending machine and a few cans of coke popped out? Hey guess what he can make into bolas! And this is just me listing the non-lethal options. Don't forget how his tape can be used for making traps a well.
Intelligence: Ties in with the above evaluation, he needs to have good sense of his surrounding and the ability to change tactics on the fly, though that applies to every hero. Sero's gonna need a really good mark in physics to use his quirk to the best of his abilities, but I think he can do it.
Cooperativeness: There's not much to say for this one, it's mainly how well he works with others. But, I can say his quirk can be used in conjunction with other 1-A students powers for some frankly insane combos. I've seen fanart of him and Midoriya using his tape to constrict a villain with a size changing quirk (like Mt. Lady or the villain from the first episode), of him throwing Mina and Kaminari to create the "Yeet of Death" in Nevermore (using the conductivity of Mina's acid with Kaminari's electricity) , and let's not forget the canon moment of him and Uraraka using the rubble to incapacitate the other examinee's during the Hero License Exam.
In conclusion: You're judging him based on the question "What kinda of quirk is Tape?" instead of "How can you use the quirk Tape?" Sero is a fantastic addition to class 1-A who hasn't had his chance to shine yet and you guys are just mean.

As much as I like Yaoyorozu, she shouldn´t really be part of the A1 class but the support heroes class instead with Hatsume Mei. Her quirk looks pretty useful but in reality she is basically a quirkless girl using objects to fight. She doesn´t really have a chance againts opponents with enhanced physical abilities like strength, speed or defense. She needs time to think that she for the most part isn´t going to get from villains. Her quirk doesn´t really help her to nerf opponents stronger than her like in Aizawa´s and Stain´s cases. Yaoyorozu doesn´t get any of that and in fact even her own clothes nerf her. As I said, I like her as a character and I don´t want her away from class 1A but she definitely would be better in the support hero class.

1-A and 1-B aren’t a list and b list, it’s literally just about how there are 40 kids in the hero course, and each classroom has 20 seats, so they split them into two classes randomly

Class 1-B: mostly tactical and precision
Class 1-A: raw power & strength
Would it make sense to make both equal. Take a look at Mineta. He's powers don't allow him to be a heavy fighter but he's the perfect sidekick. His powers subues people, gathers people up in emergency situations for strong hero's to move easer ( it even works in water with lots of debris which tape can't do) and appearnty he's one of the smartest students in the course, wise I'm both tactical use of his quirk and team based missions so he won't over estimate his abilities, like a kid who constantly breaks his body. He's also small and anyone in class would have that much trouble carrying him.
The hero society is made of heros, sidekick and support. Mineta is a good example of a sidekick desperately need. Not compete with Japanese superman shadow but to finesse things super strength and speed can't do.
That guy who talk to animals is also too op. He could run association if he was 30% more aggressive or as smart as and devious as Mineta.

Apparently in Japan, it's very common to rank classes based on their grades. So yeah, 1-A is the strongest class. Also in the tournament arc it's clearly stated that all students lower than B aren't in the hero course( the obvious most popular course that UA is the better known for ), but all/most of them tried to get in, that's why they have this inferiority complex towards the hero course students.

Sero would have some big problems if his elbows shot out duct tape.
First of all, duct tape is extremely thick and so he can't shoot as much with the same elbow tape capacity when compared to regular thin tape.
Duct tape is also very sticky and stubborn. It would be hard to shoot out at high speeds and to whip it around your opponents.
So this is why I think Sero would be better off with regular tape

@@kinda7143 I doubt that is the case. Looking at the top ten students from the entrance exam, number 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 9 ended up in class A while number 4, 5, 8 and 10 ended up in class B. It's not every other one and it's not all the top to one class.
The classes also got two recommended students each.
It seems more likely that they were placed in the respective classes based on what would make a well balanced group, or even just randomly assigned by pulling their names out of a hat.

It's not like that 1-A students are better than 1-B just because of that an 'A' with them. It's just a class like every school have in real world. You can't put every student of same year in a single room so they divided them in smaller groups which will make them easy to manage. It's just a fact that the main protagonist is in 1-A so they focus on one class more than others.

This one has been thrown around a lot and has no real substantial evidence that all for one had any romantic relationship (although I suppose it didn’t have to be romantic) let alone a kid. Keeping in mind how fucked over he is in the first place he might not even be able to have kids.

Mashirao is actually a good fighter. He's a good martial artist and his tail is strong enough to knock people out, plus it can make him leap at high speeds. He's quite underrated in fact.

Problem with this reasoning is that the story itself during the tournament arc acknowledged that the entrance exam is skewed towards more combat oriented quirks (i.e. why Shinsou didn't make the hero class), which does bring up fairly good points such as why a girl whose quirk is being invisible 24/7.

Basically, Mineta was last place in Entrance Exam. Therefore, he should be in 1-B, if we separate the students by points. Yet, he's not. I think Aizawa and Vlad split the students more equally, but Eraser got more kids with super dangerous Quirks, because he can negate them to reign students in and stop them from hurting themselves and others. So, it's more fair for both of them to teach a balanced class, rather than Aizawa teaching like Future Top-20 heroes and Vlad getting the rest.
