ABOUT CIVILIZATION VI: RISE AND FALL
The Civilization VI: Rise and Fall expansion brings new choices, strategies, and challenges for players as they guide a civilization through the ages. The expansion introduces new Great Ages, Loyalty, and Governors systems, expands existing Diplomacy and Government systems, and adds eight new civilizations, nine new leaders, a variety of new units, districts, wonders, buildings, and more. Can you lead your people into a Golden Age of prosperity? Or will your empire face the challenges of a Dark Age?
ABOUT CIVILIZATION VI
Civilization VI offers new ways to interact with your world, expand your empire across the map, advance your culture, and compete against history’s greatest leaders to build a civilization that will stand the test of time.
ABOUT CIVILIZATION
Originally created by legendary game designer Sid Meier, Civilization is a turn-based strategy game in which you attempt to build an empire to stand the test of time. Become Ruler of the World by establishing and leading a civilization from the Stone Age to the Information Age. Wage war, conduct diplomacy, advance your culture, and go head-to-head with history’s greatest leaders as you attempt to build the greatest civilization the world has ever known. Игры

This video lacks one of the devs staring right into your soul never blinking.
aGamingMonkey Hello, this are Jeff and Ghostcrawler from the League of Legends and Overwatch Team(s).
I think he is talking about DDR Jake from paradox interactive
That's what got some folks to buy EU 4's Cradle of Civilization expansion upon its release... instead of waiting for it to go on sale XD
Latinkon yeah currently its the only dlc i bought at full price lol
Free cities should have the option to eventually spawn into new civilizations!
Actually would be pretty neat, just imagine something like the Uk declaring independence from the USA, it'd be noice.
It would be pretty cool to see the quantity of civs multiply through revolts. I remember how in Civ2, a civ risked being split into 2 civs when the Capital was conquered...
I do seem to remember that civilization 2 had such a feature. Any empire that had revolts with cities that split would become brand new nations themselves.
Yes. I remember nations breaking in half when the capital was conquered. That was my strategy to stop giant empires to dominate. They split in to nations.
@Sonim Bopish no, thats why he said it that way, because it would be hillarious.
Take a drink every time he says ‘age’.
My liver dosen't work anymore....
Mordin Solus Am now ded. Plz advise next course of action X_X
This Narrator is EXCELLENT
I miss the other lady
Sean Bean is cringeworthy in civ 6. I would buy this guy's narrator pack any day.
I think this is just the new trailer narrator . its still sean bean in game
Which narrator....? the voice over for this trailer you mean?
The lady was alright too
Unannounced leader portrait at 3:26 on the sidebar, seems to be wearing a straw headdress - Hard to make out, but perhaps a Polynesian nation. Some good new info on new global units including Drones. Nice little section on emergencies.
nice catch, didn't see that one.
Or Inca maybe
Apparently the new city names are from korea
My bet is the incas
I hope it's the Inca! If it's a Polynesian nation though, I wouldn't mind.
3:26 an unannounced leader can be seen on the sidebar
Wondering his ethnicity. Polynesian, maybe?
Well, people on Reddit are saying he looks like Lautaro, from the Mapuche.
Lucas Scalon my bet its the incas
I was gonna say. Looks like another Native American civ (which I'm SO here for). Polynesian... maybe.
And Mapuche was the right guess :) I'm very excited to play as a latin indigenous civ.
Honestly, with this improvement in alliances I think that shared victory should be present (if it isn't at this point, I think it's not). In Civilization games, even a full game alliance should be broken if both civs want the victory. And it would be cool if you make some kind of multi-civ alliances or pacts (for example, 3, 4 or more civs allied between them) and that this evolved into societies of nations in late game (like the UN or the Apostolic Palace in Civ IV) with no forced joint, but voluntary instead.
Francisco Javier Rodríguez García That'd be amazing!! It's realistic too, since real world wars have winning TEAMS countries have TONS of alliances these days :D
Yeah! :D It could be cool to represent multinational alliances like the European Union, for example.
I think the best way to do this would be to allow players to set up political blocs as a specific mechanic
Yee
Remember when you could play with ACTUAL team AI in Civ 5??? We member..... They should at least add that option.
Thanks for watching! Be sure to like the video and subscribe to the channel for more content. Which new feature are you looking forward to the most in Civilization VI: Rise and Fall?
Sid Meier's Civilization No Xbox version but an iPad version it’s just hurtful
The 8th of February
February 8th.
- An IA more clever on highest difficults (and not the same IA with bonuses);
- A Huge map that really is huge, with many free space between civilizations;
- A Marathon speed that really give me the impression that i will be a lot of time on each Era (not just the time to construct a pair of archers and then i already have a tech with superior units).
Thanks for asking.
Yes. I've been dreaming of Civ games in which difficulty does make AIs better rather than quicker (while slowing the player down). It would be super simple to force AIs into making bad building/combat decisions or avoiding some combo moves more often and make them perform better moves on higher difficulty. Firaxis should seriously consider stop working towards making AI's more "human-like" since they just can't achieve that and start working on driving the game's difficulty by the AI's ability.
He sure said "age" a lot.
Best feature not included. Make the AI competent in military matters
it be nice but has ai ever been good in a civ game?
civ6 deity is like playing king in civ4
ai is weak in every aspect, not just in military
not possible
12 $ on humble bundle
Please get this person to narrate trailers and first looks for now on.
Sean Bean is perfect!
Video Graham don't disrespect sean bean like that
Video Graham isn't talking about who narrates the game (i.e. Sean Bean). He's referring to the first look videos that are narrated by the woman with the American accent, I believe. I agree with him that this narrator is much better!
why not just use both then?
I like this dude
Looks good. I like the emergency system, it might make the less than par diplomacy system more interesting. I hope they fix the automatic denunciations every time you conquer the city of another. For example, civs which are neutral or slightly positive towards you, shouldn't hate you because you conquer another civ's city. It should be based on more than an automatic negative value. If I have a positive relationship with civ A because of trade, I conquer a city from civ B, Civ A and Civ B have no relationship, why would civ A think less of me and call me a warmonger? The mechanic is broken and needs to be fixed. The only time civ A should think less of me, is if they have a better relationship with civ B than they have with me.
THIS! Sadly the game's based on more modern logic, one of the flaws of the Civ series for several games now (I know at least since 3, where I started).
I really like the emergencies, since in the video it showed you and your allies teaming up against the opponent and their allies so if it leads to war it’s like a world war since alliances work now.
I also like the loyalty system, it will allow for colonies now. In the base games if I settle on another continent it basically just like a core city but with this, your colonies will be able to revolt and leave like real ones, should be interesting with England on TSL
governors' pictures are ridiculous tbh
Grigoriy Vdovin one is Peter Griffins cousin or something
LMAO
INDEED!
Lazily implemented. And quite racist actually.
Since they don't seem to be based off of any reallife personalities, it's possible they wanted to go further with the cartoonish artstyle just to make them more recognisable. But they do look ridiculous, I'd rather a more realistic look with a cartoonish touch than this
Please consider making city states stronger so they cant be taken out so easily. they're basically free cities now
LoLo Masta there is 2 really good mods for this, one which gives them additional amenities do they don't start spawning barbs late game because of unhappiness and one that gives them starting military units. You can find them in the Steam workshop.
LoLo Masta
city states should be just reworked into normal Civs in mechanics similar to Fallen Empires back in Stellaris. You take down a normal Civ, one of them gets a chance to wake up. Or if they somehow capitulate a normal Civ, they'd switch places aka Civ is turned into City State while it in turn is "unshackled". Make capitals/last cities impossible to annex and just become puppet City States too if nation is taken down.
They already spam units harder than any other AI. A single city can only get so strong.
Today I was actually in a war where one of my city-states was next to an enemy city state- mine actually razed the other with no input from me.
I've also had one of my own cities get razed by one very early in another game.
I feel like culture will finally be as useful as it was in civ 5 with the new governor system.
One added benefit I can see of the Loyalty system: It might be very helpful in discouraging the AI from forward settling you or anyone else.
Then again, maybe they'll still settle right next to your borders and then the city will rebel and flip. However, in this case you'd have to live with the horrible settling decisions the AI makes -- the only way to raze the city would be in war.
Kill it when it rebel’s?
Pro strat, give them a city that's placed terribly, crippling their economy, loyalty, and territory placement
Then they'll get mad at you for flipping their city, denounce you causing the entire world to hate you. Gg
It's another example of a nice design idea for a strategy game - but given Firaxis so far have been incapable of sorting the AI out, it is unlikely to be usable for the forseeable future.
Important to note that because the new milestones clarify whether you're the first to find just about everything now (previously you only knew this with a city state or tribal village) it'll now be easier to tell whether there's another major civ in a given area. This can provide you a lot of additional early game Intel.
bought the DLC the day it came out, 6 months later finally get to play. This video did a great job summing it all up for me!
3:18 between the Cree and Norway seems to be an unrevealed leader
lol
Thats the Netherlands with their Queen which were featured in this video.
18Krieger There's a new civ look at the leaders, the third from the left isn't announced as of yet.
it's the dutch queen (im dutch) Wilhelmina, she was queen during world war 1 and 2.
did they fix the A.I. so that instead of putting handicaps one the player for difficulty, the A.I. actually plays smarter?
Haven't fixed them since civ 4
Beyond earth diplomacy was "bearable"
They probably won't change the AI, but they should. However, doing it like you propose would be too hard since civ is far more complex than chess for example, but they should at least be able to fix the idiot behavior like the Japanese emperor telling me my empire is "like the rising sun" every two minutes :P
If he is saying "the like rising sun" there is a problem no matter how many times he says it...
Such pleasing commentary. Nice job man!
Amazing Update! Keep on doing like that!
When Sid Meier's Pirates?
Can you fix the "warmongering" for defending yourself against aggressive nations who declared war on you first. Also bring back world wonder's built on mountains! ^^
_"What do you mean you killed the invaders that wanted to set your cities ablaze and rape and kill your citizens? YOU _*_GENOCIDAL PSYCOPATH!"_*
Please improve the AI!!!
Rise and Fall looks great and I'm looking forward to it. Please, also add a tally screen like there was in older Civ games which showed a compilations of your civ's stats in a more "fleshed out manner" (like the actual population numbers, percentage of literate civilians, health rate, age expectancy, etc...). Just having raw datas like science output and "population rank" is way less funny and way more abstract than "real life" numbers. This could be a very nice addition for a future update :)
there is a mod for that
yeah, thanks. I'll look into it. However, I'd prefer older features to remain in future iteration of the game rather than being forced into mods. I mean, devs won't be motivated into improving their games much if the answer for everything lacking is "there's a mod for that".
Taatelivaras How is this mod called?
make religion viable in multiplayer please please... they get countered super hard
You mean with inquisitors? They’re only available through a policy during dark ages. They didn’t have it blurred out in the video.
wait what? im pretty sure you can start inquisitions without having to be in any of the ages. inquisitors are literally impossible to counter unless you declare war
I meant in rise and fall
well yeah thats what we are talking about, but you say that inquisitors can only be bought in dark ages and i dont htink so
Nah, that policy card just says that you need one apostle charge to start an inquisition.
3:18, Top right 3rd leader in from the left looks like a new and announced Civ, any speculation on who they might be?
Skorpio Robotics My guess is the Inuits
Since the milestone in R&F for getting villages mentions they join your civilization, I'd love to see them expanded on. You still get whatever bonus they give now, but what if they stayed on the map and you could also develop them (potentially through missions like city states or directing resources to them, exerting loyalty etc) and eventually they spawn extra resources on their tiles or even turn into cities.
Ok this expansion looks awesome, adds a hell of a lot of depth to the game. Can't wait to explore and make some vids on it
subtle self advertising
OptimumSmiley lmao not subtle enough i guess
I love the new announcer
There's a new leader portrait visible during the Alliances segment!
seems like some native south america, maybe the incas
Nice catch eagle eyes. Can you help me find my keys?
They're on your keyring.
2:55 That Parks and recreation Easter egg!!
Uh wait a moment, that first one with the dark ages and the golden ages, I got Gathering Storm and that is a feature I have lol
Please! Bring a new trinity of governments for the late renaissance / early industrial era! For example: 1. Absolute Monarchy 2. Constitutional Monarchy (Early Democracy), 3. Radical (Revolutionary) Republic
Looks great! can't wait to finally be able to play it.
Thank you for working so hard on this expansion! The trailer was so good that I'm a bit salty that theres no cinematic story to it in game XD.
Excellent explanation. Looking farward to the Expansion!
Couldn't get ol'Sean Bean to narrate this? :(
Is the AI finally fixed?
silvk1000 I wish :/
I'm going to be monitoring Civfanatics forums for thoughts on AI. I was very disappointed with the AI in Civ 6, so much so, I don't play it anymore and have moved onto GalCiv3 Crusade.
They have been working towards it since day one but the complexity of the game surely slows this. For me there has been an improvement since release.
-1000000 your warmongering
Played on launch, how has the game improved? outpost spamming still? ... i liked the map and icons n shit, but i dont think galciv can compete with Stellaris lol
Finally I can start a civil war in my empire
Panthir 67 Σπερα
mpoumpz what do you mean by σπίθα
This does seem quite interesting. I am a little sad we haven't gotten the world congress or ideologies back though. Yet, anyway.
We already have democracy, autocracy and communism as late-game governments.
Yeah but she's right. This game really lacks the world congress and the U.N. That was so cool in Civ V.
They had promised to add the world congress, so we'll probably get it next expansion
emergencies and improvements on alliances is a start i guess ^^
no it was NOT, it's a overpowered, unbalanced peice of shit both in single AND multiplayer
But what about Ironclads, Riflemen and Gatling Guns? Gustav Vasa leading Sweden could've also fitted into the Rise and Fall nicely.
Villisika Not sure what you mean, ironclads are already in the game? Also the gatling gun was replaced by the field cannon too. But yes I agree, the gap is too big from musketmen to infantry. How can they not have an intermediary unit if they have one for every other industrial unit?
Murr Ah, my bad that I didn't notice the Ironclad and Field Cannon before.
It appears to be a new portrait, as well an unfamiliar color on the map in the Enhanced Alliances part...
During Dark and Golden ages the map is tinted... it loses colour saturation in a dark age and gains a bit of over-saturation during a golden age to reflect the sombre or vibrant nature of your civilisation.
Alex Ashton look at 3:28, under norway. There is definitely a new civ
Alex Ashton it wasn’t only the portrait I saw, but the unknown civ was also visible on the map with unfamiliar mix of blue and light blue. That’s what i meant
The soundtrack sounds like Stronghold 1 I love it :)
keep this up and i might actually play civ again.
3:28 new civ reveal
uh, no. they already revealed the Cree.
Edit: oops! yeah, they look Native American/Eskimo, etc
Devil Dog no dude under norway
ahhhhhhhhhhh, okay. my bad!
Eskimos maybe? lol Definitely different looking.
Holy shit, maybe its another american nation, maybe the incas
So is this new air unit something the ai can actually use or will it never see play like all other air units because your ai is still terrible
The only air unit AI are programmed to use are archery arrows.
They should just allow AI to upgrade units for free. Sure, it's cheating, but the AI cannot manage money worth shit, and at least it would create the illusion of technological parity. They still need to get the science for the unit.
The drone is just an upgrade for the observation baloon, not an actual aircraft.
I don't think the computer ever builds support units past the medieval era. I have never seen them build an air balloon, medic or combat engineer.
I love how they use the scythia theme in the start of this even though tomyris is a base game leader
That Sims Medieval music at 3:00
Why do I feel there's so much feelings involved in the gameplay with this expansion?
3:18 New leader (3rd one)!
OH SHIT GOOD EYE! NEVER REALIZED! :O
if you google up the city names, it seems to be another Korean leader . . .
EDIT: NVM I didn't see Korea was in game whoops lol
Draglo that's because they're playing as Seondeok
reichtangle anschluss Maybe Inca
Draglo not that one ya dingle, the blue-on-blue one up top.
dude well done on the explan
New Civ at 3:28 on the side bar
OMG it's true! Maybe a South American Civ
3:25 third from the bottom, new native civ
Good eye

what about the new waterpark district?
3:19 upper right corner... New civ

yeah!!!! good eye? huayna capac?
Seeing the head dress, Toqui Lautaro?
"The stakes are higher than ever"
Yes they are CA, fix the bloody AI.
Perfect, civ was never snowbally enough.
What is the music that plays at the end of the video?
Exciting update to an already awesome game. Thank you and keep up the great work devs!!
just curious, is the expansion free to players who already have the game?
Ziggy Stardust it's a $30 purchase
No. It's 29.99 in the US.
So a competent AI is still not included in the product? :3
Simone Ever heard of AI-friendly content? I haven’t but let’s just hope that the new expansion will be more “friendly” towards dummy AI
Xuan Bach Lai *chuckles* yea
Why dont people just go play more compentent and competitive 4x games..
if u know AI is trash, why even bother.. ?
well ain't AI irrelevant? if u have a friend, just play multiplayer i guess...
I can hear that they added Tourdion to the soundtrack!
improve weather, sailable rivers, be able to create important trade routes like the silk road
Woooooohhh Scythian industrial theme!
Drones....... DRONES!!!!
david honey yeah right?!no one is mentioning it in the comments
I like the Dark Ages concept :D!
I also never considered internal warfare in the game, great additions!
This looks really good! As always I should add - I have never been underwhelmed by a Firaxis made expansion. :D
What about for the switch version?
Will functioning multiplayer be one of the new features in Rise and Fall?
I know that the new leaders are part of the rise and fall expansion, but what about the new features? Are the new features also in the expansion or in the regular game too?
What is the music at around 5 : 05?
"Age""Age""Age""Age""Age"
Welcome to Agelization 6: Age and Age
Need more sea resources
Their's mods to fix that. I've been using the "Better coastal cities and water tiles" and "Resourceful" mods.
Polders polders polders
Shouldn't have to use mods to fix it, though. Should just be good in the base game.
really like civ VI, played for 13 hrs straight. didn't even notice how much time had gone by. that is what I call a great game. Thank you for making this game.
lol, this vid is a year old and the iOS update just out! Thanks for not leaving us in the lurch!
"bring it to the switch bring it to the switch"
Beyond information era space battles and interplanetary colonisation when
loyalty looks f awesome! there was a mod for civ 5 that did that and ive hoped so much that you would make it into an official thing
What is the name of the song of 2:53? I heard this music many times in civ but don't know the name
At first I was underwhelmed with Civ 6 because of the overall gameplay mechanics and the AI problems. But this looks amazing! I'm definitely going to give this game another chance
Thoughts?
I second the previous reply. Thoughts?
So, still no Diplomatic victory?
You cant implement diplimatic victory if diplomacy is not possible
To be fair, when a Diplomatic Victory was implemented in Civ 5 the game got quite a few complaints. People didn't like the condition, so it was removed.
Madness1 I liked the diplomacy victory in civ v, but maybe it was too easy? Just pay off the city states and win :P
Who is that civ at 3:27 the one between Norway and Greece?
Seems to be a decent amount of content in this DLC. Looking forward to it!
OMG that is awsome guys. Love it!
I have a good feeling about this expansion, hope it's worth the money.
4:52 Statue of Liberty does not have to be built in a Coast tile adjacent to the Harbor. It looks like it can only be built adjacent to a city center that was founded adjacent to the coast
Ahh, gotta love the Scythia music!
At 1:07 the Cree's capital falls due to lack of loyalty?
o.ó
Pacifist domination run?
I'm a huge fan of Civ since it's 2nd entry and I'm not trying to sound mean but why exactly should I get this expansion after the disaster that was the Ai for months and needed Mods to fix them? Every problem this expansion might have.. each bug we can't see right now will possibly be there for months if nothing has changed.
Am I the only one who has no problem with the AI? Maybe it's more related to play styles.
As a long time player you should know that civ isnt known for its AI
Just wait like a year or so after it comes out and see what the reviews are like. This also allows you to get it in a sale too.
Robert Gronewold probably not the only one but they are well documented. If you played at launch and the first months you must have noticed how hard the ai was to please, how ludicrous the trades were our the warfare. Some of it got patched only recently. That coming from someone who played civ 4 and 5 for hundreds of hours. 5 had it's problems too at start but 6 was simply too much for my own taste. What I'm thinking right now is that I have to wait months after release before I can enjoy this expansion and that can't be right
Was waiting for the new leader tonight. Will this video take the place of that?
What's the music at around 4:00
All I really want to know is if the AI has improved. Cause right now that is what is really holding me back from getting the expansion.
More units! More Units!
Anyone know if they've done anything about the crashing problem yet?
I’d love to see the game designers work out a way to allow players to chain ranged and melee units together; e.g. swordsman and crossbowman with medics etc, so they can travel together as one unit...
