Just wondering why you chose the ryobi mower and whipper snipper rather than something like the ego range. I am looking at going greener as well and have been looking around all the brands
Hi mate, glad to hear you're looking at battery gear! I went with Ryobi because I was already in that battery/charger group with other tools around the house. I started with 18v Ryobi drills/rattle guns/saws etc, so grabbed a whipper snipper and blower to match. Then upgraded to the 36v tools when I wanted the mower. The Ego stuff simply didn't exist in the market here at that point, and brands like '909' from Bunnings just weren't good enough. I'd love an Ego mower and edger to add to the collection, but without the compatibility of the yard and garage tools too, it makes it tough.
Same here Paul, I've decided if I do purchase a cordless trimmer it would be the ego power head, I think Total Tools has them for just over $500 and they come with a battery 2.5ah that's meant to give 45min of run time and a fast charger.
@@paulfrahm9367 That's true. The Stirling looks like a really good bit of gear. I think though personally, it would be hard to justify the nearly double price tag of the Liberty, if you weren't already in that Ego system. The Stirling is wider and heavier, so it wins in that regard, but I'd love it to be closer to $5000 mark.
Batteries driving a single blade isn't as efficient as a Engine powered mower that drives a single blade or four blades. Good luck with the lawn after all the rain mate.
I know what you mean about the weather, I’m on the Goldie and over the rain . Thanks for the vid and looking forward to your next instalment
Mate it's bloody miserable, isn't it! Hopefully you kept clear of the floods up there, I think we're all well and truly over the rain now!
