The numbers on the pot are the cup lines for the water, so if you use one cup using the measuring cup than you fill the water to that one cup line.
ok thanks, I tried that, I put 4 cups of water in but it did not go all the way up to the 4 line.
@@JustADadu put 4 cups rice then you fill water till it hit the 4 cup line marker on the pot
The cup is the standard cup size of all Asian rice cookers. It equates to 3/4 of US cups.
If I didn't already have an IP, I'd get this. But I'm pleased with the way my rice comes out using my IP. Thanks for the review!
i have been having rice almost everyday since i was little. more information about the measuring cup. it's typical to see a cup that comes with an asian rice cooker. what that cup is when you fill that cup with the dry rice from the rice bag, this is 1 cup of their provided rice cup, not a US measuring cup. then you put the rice in to the rice cooker, then fill the water level to the '1 cup' mark. all the asian rice cookers work pretty much the same
make sure you fill the rice that is completely even to the top edge of the cup. i use a straight edge to push the extra rice off from the cup. dont pile the rice up onto the cup like a hill. it needs to be completely even for the water level to work
Measuring rice correctly is the key to make delicious rice. For rice measurement, we use a traditional Japanese measure called go or rice cup. A level cup of this measuring cup is 1 rice cup. 1 rice cup equals approximately ¾ US cup or 180 ml.
Thanks for sharing!
How water
@@samanthacasas3091 same question. so use the measuring cup it comes with (which is 3/4 cup in US). Do we use this same measuring cup for the water? I am so confused
I wanted to see you do the carb reducer rice feature
Is it possible to disable the sound by pressing the - (minus) button for about 3 seconds when the screen is showing "OFF"? The manual doesn't mention anything about it, so looking for confirmation. Thanks!
Just bought 2 at Home Depot for 17.99 I’m in California northern. Hope I like them
Just as a helpful hint, when cooking rice you have to use the measuring cup that comes with the rice cooker to measure the rice. Then you use the measure lines that are inside the rice pot to fill the water level. Example, if you are cooking 3 cups of rice, measure the rice with the plastic measuring cup that came with your rice cooker, then add the rice to the pot, then you will fill the water to the line marked with the number 3. You should not use a regular measuring cup to measure the rice or the water.
hi, the smaller version, 6 cupper... does not have measuring lines in the pot, just the marking for max. The cup that comes with it is 200ml per cup, so 300ml water. I would preferred line markings but it is what it is.
Hi, is there option, can we cook 24 hours advanced reservation?
On my end of year wish list. Thanks for the great review and video. Always a great job!
Awesome! Thank you!
Sounds like an interesting product. Thank you! I have bought the pouches of organic rice to cook for 90 sec in a micro but the pouches are small & kind of expensive so if I bought this I could buy the bigger container of dry organic rice (and quinoa etc) which would be cheaper in the long run.
Great idea!
Just to clarify, we use the plastic cup for measuring the "cup" of rice and then we use regular US cups for water. Is that correct?
I am so confused. you used the measuring cup it came w/ for the rice (that cup is actually 3/4 of a cup), but you used a US measuring cup for the water? the book says 1 cup rice to 1.5 cups of water. so if you use the cup it comes with, are you using this for the rice AND the water?
How about just getting a 3 qt instant pot instead? Thoughts?
I need to check that out.
it's not as pretty hahahahaha. I actually was thinking about it a lot but I have my pressure cookers for my stove already .... so I went for *looks* LOL
Thank you for this video!
Have you tried cooking oats with it? If so how did it come out please?
I would have liked to see you test the keep war timer, can you set it to keep warm when it finsihes cooking or do you have to be there and then select to keep warm?
You need to rinse the rice BEFORE you cook.
Except for Enriched rice. Otherwise, you'll wash off the vitamins and minerals they added.
I thought that, but the instructions said to add dry rice.
@@JustADadRinse the rice until the water runs clear. That will eliminate the starch. Instructions are messed up. Enjoy! 😅
Rice is dirty as he'll from manufacturer. You always rinse it period. It also gets rid of more starch do your rice isn't a gloopy mess.
@@Howard_Hunter_ as an asian who has eaten rice all her life and I am in my advanced years.............. YES we always rinse our rice, for us that is a given, not only for the starch but also for cleanliness as added by the below post. Good point that you mention !
You missed to mention one of the important features of the cooker. It is the carb reduction feature.
Thanks for the very helpful review. Thumbs up 👍🏽 and new subscriber.
Awesome, thank you!
have you tried the saute setting for veggies or anything really
Can I do hard boiled eggs in the multigrain cooker?
What up with new rice cookers these day. 40 mins for rice is crazy!!!! I miss the older rice cookers that take 20mins max.
Those new 40minutes ricer cookers are from Asia, where people take rice really seriously and like it to be perfect. I actually would avoid the ones that cooks really fast.
it is always better to cook rice gently. I know I know, speed can be really useful sometimes but you can actually program the machine way in advance. So that is a good feature.
Are you able to cook rice and steam chicken at the same time asking as a student in a dorm room
of course, depending on how thick a cut your chicken is but with white rice steaming for 40mins, your chicken should be done at the same time ...
Where you able to fill up those splash containers?
So why not cook the rice in the stainless pan. Thats the whole point of this was its a carb reduce rice cooker yet you just dumped it all in the bottom pan and cooked it like any cheap $20 rice cooker... poor review in my opinion when u leave out all the features that set it apart from every other rice cooker.
Always teflon... That's a no, no for me however convenient the product seems.
How many cups total u can cook u said 7? Is it 7 or 20
40 mins total is a liooong time
I believe they measure it as 1 cup cooked rice but it is less when it is dry. How is it working for you so far? We cook rice everyday so I need a big rice cooker. 😂
Thank u
No problem
Where is the salt and oil?
I honestly do not see anything special between this and any other rice cookers you see in stores. Looks like the way you cook rice is exactly the same, but the instant pot one is so much more pricier.
Can also saute, you cant saute in a normal rice cooker
Pretty sure rice takes only 20 mins in my regular pot on stove using the boil, turn off and wait method 🤔
Yes it does but you have to stand at the stove and wait for the moment to turn it off. There are many roads leading to Rome, with a rice cooker, you can actually program it in advance manually or automatically, and walk away ......... I have cooked my rice half of my life on the stove.
40 minutes for rice? I dont think so.
If you have any instant pot you'll need this rice cooker has much as you need a third nipple.
Good review tho
You didn’t wash the rice! I think the cup is normal… it’s the greed of Americans that always makes everything have to be bigger
After 3 months it's stop working my money burned waste of buy
