It made me physically sick. I still feel a bit unwell. The messaging and ruining of the lore was sickening. There clearly more bothered about "the woke mesaage" than making real stories.
It's just getting worse and worse. The whole thing that made the show popular has been taken away. The racism and bigotted views they express in yhe show is not only disgusting but they should he arrested for hate crimes.
The views show that those who stayed in there bubble only listening to there own friends and the like think this is good. 90 percent of the real fans absolutely hate it. Money talks and ignoring that will see this show cancelled when it's not profitable.
Worst viewings ever in doctor who history says very clearly this woke message trap is not what the real fans want.

While they are in their own bubbles, they are also clearly influenced by others. They are in their own echo chamber. The arrows are also symbolic of us not using our own heads but always just absorbing what others say and regurgitating it. We can’t think for ourselves and they can’t walk for themselves. I think this actually adds something to Space Babies too because the teens and young adults were abandoned just like the babies (just like Ruby). It’s possible they even exist in the same time frame and the Babies’ homeworld is the Homeworld in this episode.

But "the modern audience" is still staying in there Echo chamber telling each other this is a great popular show even though the real fans have stopped watching and keep doing so. 😂 I like what you did there and I did similar above.
Notice how they don't even recognise what your saying? They cannot critically think and just regurgitate what others have said. 😂
The ratings are very clear. The audience hates this woke agenda.

Susan Twist plays a character named Penny this episode. Penny, short for Penelope, is from greek and means 'weaver'. Weavers do what? they weave cloth. And what do we also call a "woman of the cloth"? that's right, a nun! Quod erat demonstrandum she's the Monk!
On a more serious note, I really enjoyed the episode. It's the one that has felt the most like a "doctor who episode" so far. Might end up being my favourite of the season, becasue it has really set the bar high for the final three. I especially enjoyed how the "twist" at the end made you see the entire episode in a new light.

I watched this at midnight and really loved the episode but I missed the racism part totally and it has made me have to take a look at myself. I hate racism and any other kind or form of bigotry I have brought my kids up to not judge someone by race, religion, sexuality etc etc just on them as a person yet I missed the signs 🤦😳
I actually don't go on any social media but RUclips because of the toxicity that's been slowly growing since brexit and ramped up during covid. Yet I still missed the sign's and when you look back at them they were so obvious 😢
This actually notched the episode up in my ranking because it made me think about myself as a result I am hovering between an 8.5-9/10 and a 9-9.5/10.
I think I am going to have to revisit each episode and my rankings at the end of the series but so far I would say I actually like this episode more than Boom and I loved that episode most up till now.

@@TardisTalks I thought at first that is was a xenophobia thing, not a racism thing, but I realize that now. I have been thinking about this all day and I realised that in a way I have my own bubble around me but instead of being super rich racists I have surrounded myself with channels and people who are against racism, bigotry, elitism etc. Also because of my health and my special needs children I don't have much time to socialise or even watch tv. Doctor Who is actually the only tv I really watch 😳
I also do not read or watch MSM precisely because of what I said above the growing toxicity and hatred in it some of which was aimed at my family in our circumstances.

I think the fact that I was also questioning whether or not she was being racist shows that I rarely face racism face to face. I tried to come up with a different reason even though we just saw the woman lacked character. Then I looked to her two friends and realized they weren't interested either.

Also huge stretch, but it was interesting that "Ricky September" was the more heroic character and person more aligned with how Ruby & The Doc act, and how both Ruby and Ricky have similar themes with surnames (day of the week, month of the year) as well as sharing the same first initial. Probably complete coincidence, but it was something that stood out to me.

Interesting theory about Lindy growing up and eventually becoming her own mum. That would be very "Dark"-like!
And yes, the racism angle - I didn't twig to that until the end. For most of the episode I just assumed that Lindy was being age-ist (as the Doctor has the appearance of a 30-something man) and classist.

Just saying as skmeone who isnt a spring chicken not evennmy oarents were raised that way so that as a future for hunans is questionable.

I thought this episode had an intriguing first three quarters. Which left me thinking it would conclude with a positive message on the value of in-person relationships versus on-line virtual relationships. Instead, it takes a non-sequitur turn, where the subject person of the episode betrays her on-line crush. Only reinforcing the notion that in person relationships can’t be trusted.
In addition, I felt that Ncuti over-emoted in his acting here. The Doctor should be more restrained in expressing his feelings. The Doctor says more, by showing less.

Liked the commentary on people being unable to socialise with people outside of their bubble of friends who are very similar to them. Also like how they address people’s inability to acknowledge the world around them cos they’re so immersed in their phones. Thought the actual story was a bit underdeveloped though. Didn’t explain how the slugs came to the city and if they were connected to the Dot’s uprising.
