I am on a continuous pantry challenge because we have been on a $200 monthly budget for 15 years. It was actually $160 until the pandemic when we took our eating out budget and rolled it into our grocery budget. Reverse meal planning is certainly key. I have just finished my march meal plan with everything in the house. Starting to be really hard to hit that budget but still striving to do my best. You did an amazing job for the month and love everything you share.

Yep! I meal plan backwards, too. And I have permission to change things up. I meal plan complete meals, meaning I write down sides, too.
You could make won ton soup with broccoli and chicken. Can't see what is in the Ling ling bag but it will will be good.
Encouraged by your videos, I've been pulling foods (I had portioned) out of the freezer for dinners ... chicken chili, frozen cooked pork and frozen whole pinto beans turned into enchiladas ... quart bag of homemade tomato soup that I mixed with cooked, mashed white beans, both from the freezer. Last night I made salmon patties from leftover cooked salmon I had frozen. I'm getting there!
Tonight I made spicy pork Bibimbap, so simple and tasty. I made a mix of cauliflower rice with a little cooked leftover basmati from the freezer. I don't have bok choy or fresh greens so I used frozen lightly steamed spinach, stir fry carrot strips and mushrooms (before they went bad), separately, and, of course, a fried egg on top. The pickled onions I made a couple weeks ago didn't get used up. I don't know why but I find jars and containers that are almost empty a bit annoying, and a challenge to use up. . There are leftovers and we're good with all leftovers. It was really good!
67.00 for 2 weeks ... excellent! You spent about half of your regular shopping trips. 🎉
You've made a noticable dent in your freezers and dry storage spaces!

It sounds like you’ve been creative and have done a fantastic job! Thank you for the returned encouragement. The bibimpap sounds especially delicious! It’s so much fun to be part of a community that gets excited and motivated about saving money and being creative in the kitchen!

@@savvysaute6578 Your videos fit ... saving money, buying regular cost, on sale and discounted items, storing them, and meal planning backwards. I know meal planning the traditional way would cost more. We eat low carb 90% of the time, which does not cost more. I now know our refrig isn't the only one with a good selection of condiments, dips, spreads, bottles of this and that. different cheeses, etc! I like the variety of dishes you make. I can't tell you exactly how, but your freezer stock and refrig items gave me the idea to make bibimbap with bapsang for the first time! Thank you!
Thank you for encouraging me, and others, to go outside our comfort zone when shopping and cooking.

I think Sunday evenings are super busy in my area as well. One of my friends loves going super early on Sunday mornings before church - says there's nobody there and it's usually super well stocked. Now that you've done such a great job of using up things from your freezer, what's your trick when you restock to keep the older stuff front and center to continue to use up first?
