This was a favorite meal when I was a kid and we got it due to it being popular in our church, however we used doritos not fritos and slow-cooked dry pinto or even kidney beans and would use some of the bean "juice" to make it a little soupy or juicy on bottom. And the melted cheese was WOW! And to be honest, I think sometimes we only used the beans and they were seasoned with the taco seasoning mix, no hamburger meat. Its been decades so can't remember precisely! But I know this, it sure was one of my favorites and yes we did it with the lettuce and tomatoes and maybe some sour cream sometimes. But just load me up with the cheddar melted by the piping hot beans!

I LOVE❤ that you talk nutrition not just prices when buying groceries. Too often in the mad dash to be frugal [ I get it. I host a frugal living facebook group ], youtube chamnels will focis on extra carbs to " fill bellies". However, buying clearance, on sale, being flexible, having a prepping pantry and knowledge of nutrition can also help folks to save money.😊

Just this past week was my first time trying the fairlife milk. It was a reasonable price for me to try it. I picked up some creamer as well. The next day or so I was watching a video which in the video the person said she wasn’t a fan of the creamer because it didn’t foam up like a particular brand. So I went and made my cup of coffee. I tried is it did foam a bit so I decided to a some fairlife milk into a cup and added the creamer. It just needed more volume and depth to make it foam. I’ve been doing this milk n creamer combo for a few days now. When I opened up the carton I was like wow this is good n tasty. I’ve been drinking almond milk for a long while now since regular milk bothers my stomach.

My TJ’s is about an hour away so I don’t get to go there often as well. And funny thing there’s a Target right next to it. Usually when I go with my one friend we go into Target as well. I go about once a quarter or twice a year. I due for another trip to TJ’s. I have my favorite items to get. I love the plantain chips with chocolate hummus which I’m bummed that they don’t carry it anymore. I always gave the some little snack size of Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds as well as the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter cups. I should totally take the jump and buy them in the containers instead of the small bags. I like their rose toner and I heard about the bar shampoo which I still haven’t tried which I want to try. I can’t remember if you’ve suggested something to me. The last time I was there I tried the raw pumpkin seeds. I loved adding them to my salad. I have about a fourth of bag now. In past videos I’ve seen other people buy the bagged Thai foods. I’d like to try but I’m not sure if it’s in my taste palette. In a recent video I’ve seen I want to try the toasted coconut flakes. From your video I want to try the puffs. I totally should make list on my phone of new TJ’s foods and items I want to try.

But TJ used to be the only place I knew had it. I like most of their frozen Chinese meals. The wontons are amazing! I air fry them! I also keep a running list in my phone to remember what I want from TJ’s!

I save money by shopping in store because discounted items aren't available through pick-up. I use each stores online cart to find unit prices and to get totals before I leave the house. We also use a small notebook to keep a running list so I look at weekly ads. I always leave a buffer for stock up or to pick up a few needed items through the month. And, of course, shop all the food storage areas in the house first. I need to shop but I'm going to wait another week. We won't starve!

I am on a continuous pantry challenge because we have been on a $200 monthly budget for 15 years. It was actually $160 until the pandemic when we took our eating out budget and rolled it into our grocery budget. Reverse meal planning is certainly key. Yep! I meal plan backwards, too. And I have permission to change things up. I meal plan complete meals, meaning I write down sides, too. You could make won ton soup with broccoli and chicken. Can't see what is in the Ling ling bag but it will will be good. Encouraged by your videos, I've been pulling foods (I had portioned) out of the freezer for dinners ... chicken chili, frozen cooked pork and frozen whole pinto beans turned into enchiladas ... quart bag of homemade tomato soup that I mixed with cooked, mashed white beans, both from the freezer. Last night I made salmon patties from leftover cooked salmon I had frozen. I'm getting there! Tonight I made spicy pork Bibimbap, so simple and tasty. I made a mix of cauliflower rice with a little cooked leftover basmati from the freezer. I don't have bok choy or fresh greens so I used frozen lightly steamed spinach, stir fry carrot strips and mushrooms (before they went bad), separately, and, of course, a fried egg on top. The pickled onions I made a couple weeks ago didn't get used up. I don't know why but I find jars and containers that are almost empty a bit annoying, and a challenge to use up. . There are leftovers and we're good with all leftovers. It was really good! 67.00 for 2 weeks ... excellent! You spent about half of your regular shopping trips. 🎉 You've made a noticable dent in your freezers and dry storage spaces!

@@savvysaute6578 Your videos fit ... saving money, buying regular cost, on sale and discounted items, storing them, and meal planning backwards. I know meal planning the traditional way would cost more. We eat low carb 90% of the time, which does not cost more. I now know our refrig isn't the only one with a good selection of condiments, dips, spreads, bottles of this and that. different cheeses, etc! I like the variety of dishes you make. I can't tell you exactly how, but your freezer stock and refrig items gave me the idea to make bibimbap with bapsang for the first time! Thank you!
