  • Here’s the website for the Thailand Pass.
    tp.consular.go.th
Here you can upload required documents including your vaccination certificate and medical insurance with minimum coverage of US$50,000.
You can get that insurance from a range of insurers at thethaiger.com
Here’s the link for your options….
    thethaiger.com/covid-19/thail...
It will take 1-7 days for approval of your Thailand Pass. Once approved, a QR code is generated which the traveller can use as they enter Thailand.
You’ll have to download the Mor Chana app on your phones. The app automatically evaluates your risk daily whilst in Thailand. You’ll need to have the app data set to ON.
From the airport to your approved AQ or SHA+ hotel, you’ll be picked up by the hotel, you can’t jump in a normal taxi. They’l be waiting for you as you depart the airport.
The approved hotel will provide the RT-PCR test, in conjunction with a local hospital.
Fully vaccinated Thai or foreign residents can’t quarantine in their homes for the first night after they arrive in Thailand. They must stay in an approved SHA+ hotel until they receive a negative test result. It’s the same for everyone at this stage.
If the result is positive, they will be sent to a hospital or an AQ hotel, at your expense… so check the fine print on your Covid insurance.
    Travelling with children
Children under 12 years of age, travelling with their parents, aren’t required to have a vaccine certificate.
For children older than 12, a vaccine certificate and medical insurance is required.
    Medical insurance
Only Thai nationals aren’t required to have medical insurance because any medical costs incurred by citizens will be covered under Thailand’ universal health care system.
The same insurance exemption now applies to foreign residents who already have medical and health insurance in Thailand.
You’ll need to ensure that your insurance policy does not only specify Covid-19 health coverage, but other general illnesses and hospital expenses.
Visitors from 63 countries and territories
Fully vaccinated travellers from the 63 listed countries and territories are required to have stayed at least 21 days in one or more of THOSE countries before travelling to Thailand.
But fully vaccinated local and foreign residents can travel to to one of the 46 countries for a shorter period and then return. You’re not required to stay a full 21 days in that country.
But that exemption doesn’t apply to local and foreign residents who visit countries that aren’t on the list of 63 eligible countries or territories.
    Transit passengers
For transit passengers passing through countries that aren’t on the list 63 approved countries or territories, they can continue their trip to Thailand IF the transit period does’t exceed 12 hours and if they stay in the airport.
Exemption from Quarantine (Test and Go)
Travellers from eligible countries / territories only
Exempted from quarantine after testing negative for COVID-19 after arrival in Thailand.
You will need to stay at your hotel until your negative test result comes back.
This one’s important… You’ll need to have travelled from a port in eligible country / territory and have stayed in eligible countries / territories for at least 21 consecutive days
You’ll need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no less than 14 days before travelling
You’ll need to obtain a negative COVID-19 test result, issued within 72 hours before travelling
    Now for the Sandbox Program
So the Sandbox program is still going and allows a lot more options… including that you can come from anywhere in the world, not just the approved low-risk countries.
Travellers from any country / territory
You’ll need to stay in the Sandbox area for 7 days and then will be able to travel in Thailand.
    The Sandbox areas now include….
    Bangkok
    Buri Ram
    Chiang Mai
    Chon Buri
    Krabi
    Loei
    Nong Khai
    Phangnga
    Phetchaburi
    Phuket
    Prachuap Khiri Khan
    Ranong
    Rayong
    Samut Prakan
    Surat Thani
    Trat
    Udon Thani
You’ll need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no less than 14 days before travelling
You’ll need to have a negative COVID-19 test result , issued within 72 hours before travelling
    Alternative Quarantine
Now for the final option which is available for everyone else, including people who haven’t been vaccinated.
It’s now simply called Alternative Quarantine… at one stage they did call it Happy Quarantine but they’ve decided to get rid of the silly name and just call it what it is!
Travellers from any country / territory
Stay in quarantine for 10 days and then will be able to travel everywhere in Thailand after your 10 day stay.

Not true Dubai, turkey, Mexico, USA you can come in and head to hotel and bar straight. I just landed in dubai 4 hours go and head to mall since my room was not ready. At most you may need to do pcr test before flight and one upon arrival. Thailand where I have been there 40 plus time seems too much work at this time to enter. Nov 1 to 15 and I am traveling 4 countries and not a single one I have to go through these steps. Hope entering thailand will ease up in the future. Usa you can do pcr test in 1 hour, dubai 4 hour and bangladesh also 6 hour. It's much faster now and hassle free.

The very fact that you need a guide to visit the country as a tourist shows you how successful this scheme will be. Spoiler alert - It will fail miserably. If you think tourists are willing to go through so many hoops and still gamble their vacation on the result of the pcr test upon arrival (for example, false positives, the guy sitting next to you on the flight testing positive for covid, etc.) then prepare for a very bad tourist season

Each SHA+ hotel is different and they have either a Package or just a Room Booking. The pricing reflects this and is stated in the Booking also. You can find them easier by searching AQ Hotels which has lists for each province. You are allowed to arrange your own PCR but that is clearly complex. Those which include PCR also do Airport Pickup including to Pattaya which is a saving over doing it direct to Bangkok if not wanting to stay there.

Or the restaurants, or the cinemas , or the theatres, or....... That is why Spain had 4.7 million visitors in September alone (last data), lowest season, which Thailand will still be dreaming about this time next year. There are supposed stories of people being hit with many thousands in hospital bills because their insurance company didn't pay out as they weren't sick. (2) I arrive in BKK at 12:05am on 12/17 and all of the hotels I have considered booking for that first 24 hours appear to have check-in times at noon or thereafter, which would put me in a lobby for 12-14 hours. Any suggestions for BKK area hotels which will permit me to check-in at 2 AM?

How long in advance can you apply for the Thailand Pass? The FAQ page only says at least 7 days in advance. But how long in advance can you really do it? Flight tickets are cheaper the earlier you can book them, leaving you more money to spend in Thailand, just what the Thai government wants. So they should support us by allowing very early registration so we can support Thailand and not other countries airlines. Does anyone have an answer to this question? is it 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks or even 8 weeks in advance?

Thank you, however unfortunate that nothing was said on several important points. 1 / PDF format cannot be used on the Thailand Pass site, only jpeg. and only one downloadable document per section. Result, how to send an insurance contract in PDF consisting of several pages knowing that if you want to convert it to jpeg, you must necessarily reduce the size of the pages so that they can all appear? It's just impossible, if we do that it's unreadable. So we can only send the first page but in this case is that sufficient for the authorities? 2 / They stipulate that the passport number must appear on the vaccination certificate. No French certificate displays or asks for the passport number during the injection. Should we add it to the pen? In short, nobody talks about it and no comments on it on the site itself. 3 / They ask for the QR Code of the first vaccination. There is no QR Code issued during the first vaccination, it is only during the second that it is given and it can only be used after one week after this second injection (15 days previously). 4 / Then there is no possibility of knowing where the progress of the file is (contrary to the request of the E.visa). If the file is incomplete or incorrect, when do the authorities say so? Nothing about it. For my part, I sent everything on November 2 (after several attempts due to bug problems that most people have encountered) and still no news 5 days later. They recommend that you apply for a Thailand Pass at least 7 days before departure, but what happens if you have to reapply in the event of an incomplete file? A better week to wait? In short, between the impossibility of using PDF (a format that allows you to zoom in while keeping an optimal quality, to merge several pages and to be compressed) and the lack of information concerning what I said, not to mention the radio silence on the progress of the file, I can only note the lack of professionalism for an official site such as this one in 2021. This risks calling into question the trip of many tourists already overwhelmed and stressed by the number of constraints related to covid. If there are any who have information, do not hesitate to communicate it if not from the authorities ...

Can a tourist make a visa run for instance to Singapore and then go through the test and go. Stay there 1 day and then come back. Or do you have to use the sandbox, since you not stayed there 21 days in Singapore.

there is already an extra 30days you can get by going to their Embassy. If you needed to mess about doing those Border runs then you are trying to avoid a more suitable cost VISA. Think they allow 2 Border jumps but just look at the available VISA options that suit you.

I may be wrong but I thought you had to stay in the country you go to for 2 weeks before you head back, so I guess a 1 day visa/border run is not an option. You may need to use the sandbox to get around it.
