This first concern makes me really unhappy, because I was always taught by my mom that when you have kids you put them first no matter what. The kid with all the animals isn't a concern it's just bad parenting, you're his mother not his friend, if you don't want them in the house then just get rid of them.
That kid should not have that many pets. It's animal cruelty to force living things into such small cages and rarely let them out. No wonder they escape. And frankly it's the parent's fault for buying them :(.

That first girl doesn't know how good she has it. All she has to do is think of the complete opposite (in which the parents excessively show hate... many of us are not unfamiliar with that situation, I think) and she'll be thankful that having parents who excessively show love to eachother is a 1 in a million.
