Kyrgyzstan is relatively small landlocked country in the former Soviet Union bordering Uzbekistan to the west, Kazakhstan to the north, the sparsely populated Xinjiang Uyghur """Autonomous""" Region of western China to the southeast, and Tajikistan to the southwest, with its capital in Bishkek. Despite being a very poor country, it is the only post-Soviet "stan" that can be called democratic with a remotely straight face.
I was actually one of the last foreigners in Xinjiang before the absolutely horrifying cultural genocide campaign against the Uyghurs and other Muslim and non-Han minorities was launched in the summer of 2016, and I seriously thought about visiting Kyrgyzstan while I was there, I would still quite like to if there was a way that was safe for (presumably solo) trans-female travellers.
