Savuti and Chobe - beautiful place, we were lucky do have a pride of lions come through our camp site back in 2000 (we escaped Sydney during the Olympics). We were sitting around the fire late at night and we could hear their call - the Tour Guide said if we go sit on the truck roof, we will be able to see them. No time for cameras though. Brilliant experience and high fives all round. Loving being on the journey with you, Andrew. Its stopping me from working.

Didn't expect to hear Andrew is a fan of the Top gear/Grand Tour trio.
Edit: I have encountered a similar issue with a fan in a 76 series Land Cruiser.
Somehow a pigeons feather went through the mesh cabin filter (it had no holes where something that big could go through) and sat skew in between the fan blade.
So when the blade turned the feather rubbed/catched against it and made a terrible noise.

I have to point out one thing regarding you (and mine) love of OG Top Gear & Grand Tour and that is that there’s four mates “cocking about” with cars. The fourth is Andy Millman, the Producer & sometimes Director. Mr Millman is often spoken about by Jeremy fondly - believe they’re lifelong friends since High School. Either way, it’s the four of them who made TG & GT what it was. There’s a new GT out on July 31st filmed during the UK lockdown last year.

Massive Top Gear fan here. I absolutely loved the series and still watch the old videos from time to time. I loved the one where they used a Range Rover to cross Bolivia, finding the source of the Nile in station-wagons, etc. I'm in a 100% agreement with your comments about the show. I felt that the first seasons of Grand Tour were rather disappointing because it just seemed that they were trying to forcefully capture the magic of the old show. However it is completely true.. the relationship in between Clarkson, Hammond & May is absolutely real. If they weren't proper mates, Hammond & May would have stayed creating Top Gear after Clarkson was fired.

Was it in Alabama where the Top Gear guys painted signs on their cars like 'Hillary for President' and 'Country music sucks'? I think they feared for their lives that day after trying to refuel at a local fuel station when the local boys turned up. Another series was in South America somewhere where their convoy was attacked by locals. It was a great show, i still watch re runs and still laugh at some of their antics.

Now you've reminded me of an old joke about the Range Rover I heard as a teen.
Legend has it that when the Pajero was launched, the lads at Solihull snuck out and bought one to pull apart and see what they were up against. After a bit of performance testing, they noticed there didn't seem to be any dust inside the vehicle, which puzzled them immensely. One engineer came up with the bright idea of parking it overnight with a canary inside, like they do in the mines. A Range Rover was brought off the lot outside and another canary placed inside that for a fair comparison test. All the doors and windows were closed and the vehicles locked.
Come the following morning, the lads opened up both vehicles. The canary in the Pajero was dead on a front seat, apparently having died from suffocation, leading to all sorts of speculation about door seals, the HVAC system etc. Then they opened up the Range Rover, fearing the worst, but found that the canary had escaped.

No Joke. This happened! But it wasn't a canary. It was a badger.

Towed for 800km?!?! As a Land Rover owner, this was an absolute horror story-time for me, Andrew.
