In 2001, Ford introduced a SOHC version of the Cologne 4.0l v6 that made 47 more HP and 13lbs more. JH's truck has the SOHC. The non-SOHC was still offered, so not all 4.0Ls are equal.

I race against ksr quite often in champcar endurance racing and they are some of the fastest baddest guys around

I hope at the F.F the races become popular enough to need 2 different classes. The current rules , and then a limited modified class. Set specs for h.p , power adders, cage ect.
Just want to say, whatever JH did on filming and editing, it worked. His content jumped leaps and bounds. He is great on camera, articulates everything in his vids to come across well. The ranger being a manual will make it faster than the other rangers cause it puts more power to the ground than an automatic

the rear tray cover will make a difference on the straights. the drog ceated by a the tailgate is a lot more than people think

FYI guys, solid front mounts and a rubber/urethane trans mount are the normal way to go on any race car that's got any chassis flex..It keeps the stock frame/unibody from breaking the tranny case like yours on the little S-truck.

What I heard about JH cheating was he was running NOS when he needed it and that he has a fill port on his roll cage and that’s how he hides the nitrous!
All kidding aside, I think JH owes Kevin from KSR a big thank you for him sharing some of his knowledge and passing it on to JH. Other than that, it’s all JH so nice job on the truck and the driving, keep it up. Man, that thing was fast!

Iv got a perfectly good b&m th350 that's in the same boat.. mine was from the bell housing bolts backing out
Spark plugs get: NGK Ruthenium, 5W 20 or 0W 20, no airfilter or K&N high flow, fuck egr, hollow out cats or straight pipe.
Get a 6-speed or 5-speed whatever they come in out of a V6 Mustang it will probably have a better second to third shift

if you get rid of the stock rubber body mounts and use poly or even solid one the will be no more roll . fyi there are weighted torsion bars wich work better than coils springs because with a coil you need spring jacks . with a t-bar its stock

01 ranger has more power than the late 90s 4.0s. Also the torsion beam lets them change the ride height of the front without after market parts. Flip the stock shackles to lower the rear. Shed every pound possible. Get the right wheels with the right alignment and you rule the class.

maibe add a manual shift kit in the th350 and raise the line pressure too should help against wearing out the brakebands (and the firmer shift should help break the tires loose too) and is only a small mod (cost aabout 50 dollars extra unless he adapts the stock stuff ) the tranny rebuild shop can probably do that blindfolded with one hand tied to his back
can probably do a few other small mods to make it live longer in the extended full trottle situation of a burnout truck , think mostly to keep it from overheating (deeper pan holding more oil / large transcooler mounted in the bed with fan
keeps the trans intoo the gear you select prevent from upshifting or downshifting and bogging down the engine
probably have a blown trans laying around somewhere with a good case on it
might be a good idea to mount a driveshaftloop even if its one bend up by hand from an old piece of leafspring
I've split the trans in my s10 blazer just like only thing is mine was in 3 pieces lol

Bend the rocker out right before the rear driver wheel well. Even a 2 or 3 inch section turned out will create such a significant increase in your downforce you'll be suprised.
99% of the time, if they are saying you are cheating is because you are doing things the right way,is easier to say you are cheating than puting the work to be at the same level of your truck and lets not forget skills,jokes aside, you can drive

As per a previous comment, your filming and editing has improved a lot, I love your projects and content but was having trouble staying engaged for a full vid. I have noticed the pace has increased which is a step in the right direction and I feel a bit more race day energy/hype in every vid will be the next big step for your channel, it's currently got that after-work whine down feel. Wishing you nothing but the best and am feeling excited for where this year takes you. Keep up the hard work.

How much lighter is the stepside bed over the short bed? It looked like the skins are fiberglass.
Pretty sure it's actually heavier, believe it or not...factory "fiberglass" isn't usually much of a weight savings.

my 1990 Ford ranger had a 3 L five speed and it was much faster than my buddies 4 L ranger first second and third time it was him but the top of third I’m gaining in midway through fourth a passing and I just walk away and fifth your truck would probably do better with the 373 because of the gear ratio of the transmission

The danger ranger race has changed and is looking more like race trucks than bringing your daily driver to the track. I like it but it shouldn't be called a bone stock truck... it's modified race truck

I have a good trick use a OME 8.8 and leaf springs for the rear with being modified ,, stock shack of leafs............
