@Zguy09 not only did he brag about that, but then he went on to say that he kicked him out of the house hoping that he would have to sleep on a park bench and them come crawling back to Jack to apologize. Jack was upset that instead of being homeless, his parents took his son in to live with them. He basically disowned his son after that even telling the younger son that he had lost his brother to drugs. Remember, this was a teenager who was just smoking a little green. Jack tells that story of an example of how good of a Christian parent he is.

I've won chili cookoffs. Jack is right, I cheat. My secret is that I make my own fresh chili spice mixture.😁 After browning cubed chuck, yellowing onions, adding garlic and diced jalapeno, 1.5 tsp cinnamon, I mix in my spices. Then I deglaze with a lager beer, before simmering with beef stock and tomato sauce. I have noticed people who don't place are like Jack: barring musty old beef, they just mix in processed/canned food.

I made vegetarian bean chili for 15 of us on Cinco de Mayo - I had 4 vegetarians in attendance. I did use 3 types of canned beans, rinsed, fresh butternut squash, mixed herbs and spices that I put together, sauteed onions, and since it was not tomato season, I went with the canned whole tomatoes. I would not have, otherwise. I hand shredded the cheeses for the toppings. Cooked the entire dish on the cooktop all day, on low to marry the flavors.
The meal also provided a make-your-own taco bar, which also was quite useful as I hadn't known another attendee was allergic to legumes.

If I remember correctly, I believe that brisket is one he had frozen for 14 months. I wouldn't be comfortable eating frozen meat after a few months, let alone 14.

Step 1: Bunch of random odd ingredients
Step 2: spoiled, freezer burned, year old meat
Step 3: throw it all together heat for hours
    Step 4: diarrhea.

Oh fudge yes! Been waiting for your insights into this infamy. The fact that Jack used more-than-a-year-old meat that's been showing signs of quality and safety deterioration, a mix of ingredients that may and may not go well for chili and still cooked and served it in a public setting while being oh-so overconfident that he'll win then be a moany Matty when he lost is beyond me.

No technique , random flavors that have no business together, and a brisket that a feral dog wouldn't eat . This is probably one of jacks worst recipes which sad because it also had alot of potential to actually be good if he just got rid of the Italian sausage and corn , sautéed the onions and garlic a little first , then put everything else and used a way fresher brisket ( also if he really wanted sausage chorizo would've been better )
